The care home offers a wide range of accommodation options and beautiful, wheelchair-friendly landscaped gardens designed for a gentle stroll or relaxing walk. Pet friendly, so your four-legged friends can also move in. Situated at the eastern end of the South Downs, near the famous Beachy Head beauty spot – a regular route for residents on the Community Minibus.

A passionate and dedicated team ensures that all residents’ individual needs and requirements are met; whether that is arranging for your favourite meal to be created by the chef or arranging activities for you to enjoy.

Eastbourne Gardens encourages residents to stay active, make new friends, nurture interests, learn new skills and pursue favourite hobbies. The Activities Co-ordinator arranges exciting events, trips and onsite activities so there is always something to do.

My mother has been resident in Reminiscence for 6 months now. She has been made very welcome and has settled well. She has benefited from multiple activities such as flower arranging, making dog biscuits for charity, going on regular trips out and fine dining! She looks much healthier than she did on
admission and has gained weight. The staff are all very caring. Our family are very pleased that we chose Sunrise.

From the moment we walked into Sunrise, we have been overwhelmed by the quality of the Sunrise experience. We have found the care in Reminiscence to be of a standard we have never known before, we could say 5 stars plus.
The Sunrise property is clean and smells nice, it is in a very good state of repair.
The
staff, well all I can say is they are amazing, they CARE. They are loving and respectful, I have never heard anyone be patronising.
Staff are attentive, joyful and efficient, we know that Sunrise is simply the best, what a wonderful place to live, laugh and enjoy the autumn and winter years of life.
Sunrise you are what everyone deserves 'Perfection'.

We chose Sunrise of Eastbourne quickly and almost without research and we soon discovered the very best. Best for services and facilities, but most importantly best for the love and care were shown to all of us by ALL of the staff. Everyone has been so kind to my father and all my family. Nothing was
too much trouble. Everything was offered to make our stay the best it could possibly be. Sunrise of Eastbourne has a brilliant team, experienced, professional, well trained and well-managed. We could not have asked for better or for more.

The staff are all very nice and do their job very well. The food is good for my mum. The room she is in is exceptional, they have many activities during the day, that pleases my mum.

My mother initially went into Sunrise of Eastbourne for a months respite care having been ill in hospital. We were so pleased with the standard of care the family decided she should remain at Sunrise.
As my mother grew stronger, she was encouraged to participate in activities and began to make friends.
She found most of the carers friendly and helpful, she enjoyed mealtimes as the food was very good. My mother and her family liked the spaciousness of the place and she was always warm, clean and comfortable.
I found the staff most helpful at all times and was impressed with the level of communication they maintained with me towards the end of my mothers life.
I have no hesitation on recommending Sunrise to others.

The home is always well organised, friendly and clean.
There are a variety of activities.
When there is a concern of any sort I am consulted and a solution is agreed.
One issue remains inconsistent, that of sustaining my sister's hearing through the way her ears are checked, oil medication is used,
or the ears are syringed. We recognise this is not easy to sustain.
The staff I have seen care and respond effectively.

I have been here only two months - but everything has been very good. I have a very nice room, all the staff are so kind and helpful.

My mother has now been living at Sunrise Eastbourne for 3 months and loves it. She was finding it too much of a struggle coping with her own flat and wanted to be looked after. We looked at several homes in the area and chose Sunrise. Part of the reason is that my mother can stay at Sunrise even when
her needs change. At the moment, she is able to care for her personal hygiene herself but if and when she is unable to, she can remain in the same room at Sunrise but the care given by Sunrise will increase.


She has a very pleasant ensuite room with kitchen area and has taken in her own furniture.


The staff are always very welcoming whenever I visit and my mother finds all the staff very helpful and kind.


There are many activities for the residents to enjoy but no one is forced to do anything.


I am amazed my mother has settled so well and am sure it is mostly down to the staff making her feel so at home.

I had a wonderful stay at Sunrise after an operation. The staff and food were wonderful and my stay there helped me to make a complete recovery. I am a regular visitor and attend the social activities as often as I am able.

I visit on a regular basis and staff are always kind, helpful and friendly. Particularly the concierges - nothing is ever too much trouble. Residents needs appear to be responded to promptly and with patience and kindness.
Bistro facilities are much appreciated. The residents are mostly content and
well cared for. A lovely atmosphere.

My mother was welcomed to Sunrise after a very difficult period of physical and mental illness. She was very thin, highly anxious and unhappy. After a very short period at Sunrise she began to gain weight, sleep well and she regained her 'spark', began smiling again. I have visited her at different
times of day, on different days, both weekday and weekends and I have consistently observed the staff being gentle, warm and treating my mother with dignity. I get a sense of real affection between residents and staff.

My father moved into Sunrise as respite and it turned into permanent. Every member of staff from concierge, domestics etc through to carers and management have been very kind, caring and professional. My father is not the easiest of individuals but through joint partnership we manage to work together
to enable his stay there as comfortable as possible. Wonderful home and i feel very happy when i leave, only negative- would be good to have a list of contact numbers knowing who to speak to when situations arise.

The carers and staff have really been exceptional and very professional throughout dad's stay from 2011 though to his death in November 2015. They have built a very close relationship with dad and this has resulted in the final years of his life being very happy and fulfilled despite a touch of dementia.
The
family will be forever grateful for the love and care provided. Albeit at a considerate cost. My only negative would be having to pay for dad's room for 30 days after his death at £85 a day. This seems very commercial and slightly distasteful.

Job Title: General Manager

When I  joined the home in 2016 initially working as a Nurse it was love at first sight! When I first walked in it felt like “coming home” to a unique and special place whose ethos and unique approach to care shone out and I instantly felt part of something special. Moving on to become a Dementia Care Manager I led an amazing team in the Memory Care Neighbourhood that is dedicated to providing enriched person-centred care in a unique, stimulating and safe environment, together we reached dizzy heights winning a National Care Award for Resident Engagement in 2017 and becoming finalists in the National Dementia Awards for the Best Dementia Team!


After 3 years as Deputy Manager, I took on the role of  General Manager of Eastbourne Gardens. I strive every day to ensure we are and will always be a special place and a happy home. Our Residents are truly inspirational and make every day a joy. I am proud to be part of a passionate team that endeavours to lead the way as a centre of excellence in care. At Eastbourne Gardens, the sun is always shining.

I originally worked at Eastbourne Gardens from 2007 for just over 5 years before returning 10 years later. The things that have remained constant throughout that time are the dedication and unfaltering kindness my colleagues deliver every day. Every day is different, there is always something going on which makes you smile. We are committed to filling the resident's days with happy moments. My role is to market our home and welcome new residents into it while dealing with professionals and family members. Offering support when making a significant decision at a critical time. We have a beautiful product, lovely food, a great activities programme (including minibus outings) and caring staff, all coupled with happy residents and family members.

Job Title: Nurse Care Manager

I have been a nurse for 20 years and before I left Romania I was the Occupational Health Nurse for a petroleum/chemical company. In 2010 I came to the UK and joined Eastbourne Gardens in 2012 as a Bank Nurse. I was so impressed with the beautiful environment, the calm and welcoming atmosphere and the Signature ethos of care that I joined the company as a full-time Wellness Nurse. In 2015 I stepped up for six months into the Nurse Care Manager role before being appointed permanently.


I enjoy leading a team of dedicated nurses and care assistants who want to ensure our residents' lives are fulfilled to the best of their abilities. No two days are the same and I enjoy caring for our seniors and seeing them flourish. It is so rewarding when new residents arrive and I watch them make friends and start enjoying the many activities on offer and the fabulous food as they become part of our family.

I along with a dedicated team, are responsible for ensuring our residents lead a full and enriched life. We offer a varied activity programme 7 days a week as well as trips out on our minibus. I am passionate about delivering a person-centred service to ensure the residents we support can lead a happy & purposeful life.

At Eastbourne Gardens we all feel like we are part of one family, focusing on heartfelt care and a genuine passion for seniors. Our activities calendar is carefully planned to ensure each resident has an opportunity to take part in a variety of meaningful activities that enrich the mind, body and spirit.


As a team, we help our residents to embrace each day to ensure it is filled with purpose and laughter. Every month we put on themed events that bring our residents together with their friends and families. I joined the home in January 2013 and every day is still filled with happy daily surprises.
