Kevin. Thank you for your positive review and recommendation about Westerleigh Nursing Home and we are delighted that you find our colleagues friendly and caring, and that the food is good. We all strive here to offer the best possible care and support and it is a whole team approach, that in addition to the Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants, includes our Head Cook and their team along with our other colleagues. It is great that we get such regular and excellent feedback about the food offered at Westerleigh, as you know, there is such a choice of meals and snacks it is often difficult to decide what to have. Our 24-hour availability of meals and snacks is a real bonus for residents who do not always want three full meals a day, so they can choose the lighter meal options and then have a snack when they like.

Thank you for your lovely and insightful review regarding your parents' stay here with us and the care they and the extended family received, as a team we are really grateful that you have recognised us in this way. It was our pleasure to care for your parents, and we are delighted we had the opportunity to get to know them both so well.
Our refurbishment programme is underway now, and if you or any of the family are passing by in the future, please do pop in to see us and the home, it should be looking updated and improved in the near future.
With our thanks and best wishes to you all. Jakki and the Team at Westerleigh.

Thank you so much from all of us on the staff team here at Westerleigh for your lovely review of your Mother's care here at Westerleigh, together with our relationship with you and your family, we really appreciate your comments and observations.
My colleagues are thrilled at what you have said about the care, as you say, it is a real team effort and we strive to offer truly holistic care, embracing the resident and their family from admission to departure, and all the stages in between. Our ethos of care shines through in your review, we are a diverse team, but the common link is that we truly care. When we recruit for new team members we actively seek people who are kind and caring, we can give them the skills they need, but the starting point is to have a caring and kind attitude. Thank you again for your charming review.

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.481) out of 10 for Westerleigh Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.881 for Westerleigh Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 67 Ratings = 4.881
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westerleigh Nursing Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
