I am immensely grateful for the care mum received at Hazelgrove in the 7 months she was there until her death in June this year. I visited around 15 homes in the area before choosing Hazelgrove. The Hazelgrove staff members at all levels were conscientious, knowledgeable, competent, caring and friendly
– some aspects of which were not always evident at other homes. Hazelgrove has a warm, homely feel and being all on one floor, avoids much of the disorientation and mobility problems associated with other homes. If you are looking for a modern home with new high-tech facilities and gourmet meals, then you will look elsewhere, but if you want the best care for a loved one suffering from advanced Alzheimer’s-Dementia, then I cannot recommend Hazelgrove more highly.

My mum has been resident here (with mixed dementia/Alzheimers) for just over a year and I can honestly say that the treatment, care and respect from all the staff has been absolutely fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they have gone out of their way to ensure that mum is as happy and
comfortable as possible in the situation. Hazelgrove is really well run and the staff are good at keeping us updated to any issues/changes of medication etc.
The rooms are lovely with plenty of space and the communal areas are excellent with a dining room, quiet lounge, bright and sunny conservatory and a safe and secluded courtyard/garden.
My sister and I visit once per week and the staff are always happy and smiling and friendly to us. It makes such a difference to know that our mum is being cared for so well and takes a lot of pressure from us.

I have been extremely impressed by the care given to my father over the last six months. Dad moved into Hazelgrove in July 2016 and sadly has since passed away from his dementia. I am glad that for the last 6 months of his life he was at Hazelgrove. Every time I visited I found the staff to be extremely
caring, kind and supportive- both management and carers. Dad also appeared very contented there. Dad was encouraged to attend therapeutic groups, he was included in all the activities and made to feel welcome and cared for. Ironically, he has received better care at Hazelgrove than he did at a much more expensive and "flashy" looking nursing home in Brighton from which I moved him because they were just leaving him alone in his room all the time. I would not hesitate to recommend Hazelgrove. My father was very content there and I am glad that they looked after him for the last 6 months of his life.

At Hazelgrove, the personable and professional staff create a very warm and friendly atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
My sister is always very happy on my visits to her. During my last visit she was eating her breakfast and she ate well. She was clean and well dressed and spoke with us
in a positive and happy way, laughing and joking. She enjoys outings and recently had a meal at a local garden centre and the staff account was backed up with photos. Staff that saw her treated her respectfully and happily.

My mum has dementia and spent the most of 2015 in hospital. When the time came to choose a care home I was anxious. Being her closest relative and having lived abroad for most of my life, the decision to find a home where mum would be safe and hopefully find some happiness was terrifying.
The first
visit to Hazelgrove reassured me that mum would get the best choices possible. Indeed she settled in very quickly and after many years of distress and loneliness she has blossomed. The feeling of good will and motivation from all the nursing staff, carers and management is truly amazing. Mum sings, dances her days away and I am 100% happy. I joke with the staff that I wish to go on the waiting list in 50 years time!!!

My mother has deteriorating mental health and is frail physically. The staff are kind, gentle and respectful. The nursing standard is good and management very hands on. Hazelgrove is usually calm and peaceful, activities are well planned and residents relaxed happy and well cared for. The nursing staff
are professional and observant. As a proof nurse myself having managed nursing homes I am very happy with the care that my mother receives. It is an excellent home.

My mother has been at Hazelgrove for over seven months. As a family we have been really happy with the quality of her care. When mum arrived she displayed very aggressive behaviour. The staff have been wonderful with her and she appears very happy and settled. The management went out of their way to
accommodate, even the smallest detail. many Thanks.

After a disastrous previous care home experience a was a bit sceptical of moving mum into another place but wow was I surprised. This nursing home is lovely, from the fabulous artwork on the walls done by the residents to the wonderfully friendly and professional staff. The management go all out to
make sure mum is happy even though she can be a bit cantankerous. I would recommend this place wholeheartedly.

My 93 year old father has vascular dementia and had to be moved from his previous home and has been at Hazelgrove Nursing Home since December 2015. He has received the care and understanding that his condition requires from a professional, caring and highly supportive team of nurses and carers. The
management is very efficient and the homely atmosphere and recognition of individual needs and dignity is impressive. Also the support I have received has been second to none.

My mother has been at Hazelgrove for just over 5 years. I searched for a long time to find somewhere suitable and Hazelgrove fitted the bill. It is not a large residential house converted into a home with all the associated problems of different floors and mobility issues. It is a ground floor purpose
built structure in the shape of a square so that mobile residents are unable to get lost.
The home did go through a difficult patch but even then the cutting edge workers were superb
It is now back and in form with a great team who give excellent care to somewhat difficult residents. My mother has just celebrated her 100th birthday there, we were able to have a lovely private celebration and then the team set up a wonderful afternoon event for everyone.
I have recommended it in the past to friends and will continue to do so.
