My mother has been here for 2 years. The staff and nurses have been excellent. Very clean with lovely food. Can't fault it. Mum's gone down a bit but nurses and staff have been excellent looking out for her.

Since mum has been at Oaklands there has been a change of management and things have improved enormously. Rooms have been redecorated and a vast improvement with staff and care given. Entertainment has been increased and residents have some form of entertainment seven days a week. I would have no hesitation
in recommending Oaklands to people that have relatives who need care.

Mum has lived at Oaklands for four years. Over time, management have changed. The overall standard has improved no end. The care mum gets is excellent and she seems very happy. The activities at Oaklands are very good and the residents are all encouraged to join in. I feel very happy when I leave her
here as I know she is in very good hands.

My father in law is a patient at Oaklands Nursing Home. He is 92 years old and suffers with dementia and Parkinson's disease. He is treated with dignity. He settled down quite quickly, enjoys the musicals. They provide singing exercise and the patients are very friendly to each other and one family,
joining in with all activities.
The staff are very good with the patients, the food is excellent.

Oaklands has a lovely garden and sea views from a lot of windows. The present owners have replaced the windows very sympathetically and a new hairdressing room has been provided. The rooms, bedrooms, dining room, lounge, hall etc have all been decorated and new furniture provided. The food is very good.
The staff are very caring and pleasant, also encouraging. The atmosphere is very nice, more like a large family home than a care home. No aromas, pleasant.

I have a therapy support dog and I visit Oaklands Nursing Home once a month for about an hour. Everybody is friendly and we are made welcome, enjoying a cup of coffee and chat. The residents are able to pat and talk to my dog which is very beneficial to them. My dog (and I) enjoy our visits.

We always receive a warm welcome. Residents who choose are brought to the lounge for a short church service and the staff show a commitment to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents. If people are unable to attend the service they are asked if they would like us to visit them in
their rooms and we are taken up to them. The residents always seem happy and there is a lovely warm atmosphere in the home.

Since my dad has been here the difference in him is amazing. He didn't eat, he couldn't sit up or speak very well. He was confused. Now he eats 3 good meals a day.
He talks to us and can sit up, joins in all the activities which are going on every day.
The staff are all very caring and understanding.
Nothing
seems too much trouble.

Every time I visit I am met with kindness and friendliness. The residents seem very happy where they are clearly treated with respect and kindness. The house is spotlessly clean and the rooms are bright and nicely furnished. There are plenty of daily activities for them if they wish to participate.

My aunt has been here a long time and everybody has been so kind and looked after her well, giving her love, respect and dignity. She is now 98 and very frail, everything is still being done to make her comfortable. Thank you so much.
