The work of our staff is focused on spending quality time with the individuals in our care, making sure they feel supported, happy and comfortable. We use a range of assessment tools and care planning documents to evidence the care we provide but on a day to day basis spending time with people is more important to us than spending large periods of time documenting the work we’ve undertaken. The care planning software we have in place is nationally recognised and meets our regulatory responsibilities. We believe through the software we use that we achieve the right balance.

I have worked at Caer Gwent for 20 years. I have worked my way up from care assistant to care supervisor, to deputy manager of resources, through to my current role in 2021 as Registered Care Home Manager. I love meeting residents and families and have an open-door policy for all residents, families and our people. I love caring for our residents making them feel loved and part of our family.
Job Title: Deputy Manager - Clinical Lead

I am a Registered Nurse with an MBA in Health Care Management. I have worked at Guild Care for 2 years. As Clinical Lead I oversee the clinical team and nurses to ensure that all areas are functioning correctly in line with CQC and the NMC. I oversee medication management and also conduct clinical assessments for new residents before they move into our home. An essential part of my role is liaising with families to keep them updated on their loved one's health and care plans.

I have worked at Caer Gwent for 7 years but have been part of the Guild Care family for over 20 years. I worked my way up from Care Assistant and Care Supervisor into my current role as Deputy Manager of resources. My previous experience in caring for our residents has been invaluable in my current role where I manage staffing and rotas as well as oversee care plans. I also deputise for the Care Home Manager as needed. I love the family environment at Caer Gwent and really enjoy interactions with our residents and their families. We really are one big family!
Job Title: Housekeeping Manager

My journey with Guild Care began back in 2014. For most of that time, I was the Housekeeping Manager at Haviland House, where my dedication to creating a clean and comfortable environment for our residents and their families was unwavering.
Recently, in September 2023, I had the honour of stepping into the role of Housekeeping Manager at Caer Gwent, following the retirement of my predecessor. In this capacity, I oversee both housekeeping and maintenance, ensuring that every aspect of the facility is well-maintained.
One of the things I cherish most about my role is the opportunity to support my team in providing the best possible care. Creating a welcoming and pristine atmosphere at Haviland House has always been my mission, and I am excited to continue this journey at Caer Gwent.

I qualified as a teacher in South Africa. In my role as Practice Development Facilitator, I ensure our new people are trained appropriately to meet the standards required for each role. I also work with all of our people at Caer Gwent to ensure continued professional development.

I have worked at Guild Care for 15 years in various care roles before moving into my current role as Administrator. I love helping people and interacting with our residents and their families. Caer Gwent is like one big family and I love working here.
