I visited my father-in-law. As always, the staff were friendly and helpful. They all take time to speak to myself and my father when they pass by. There is a book so I can see what has been happening since my last visit. He has been here for about five years now. His care is great, and everyone is really
good, even when things are hard. I know my father can be difficult at times.

The staff at Cavell House Care Home are amazing and very caring. If there is any problem they call me straight away and keep me up to date with everything. My mum has dementia and is very happy there. Her room is lovely, bright and airy and also the food is very good.
I'm very happy with the care she
receives and always feel welcome when I go to visit.

I have found that my mother has not been dressed properly, or rather hastily as the staff are running late, as I visit on a Sunday morning at 10.30 am, sometimes in someone else's trousers.
Also found that when the hoist mat is removed they do not pull up her trousers at the back making her uncomfortable
sitting in the wheelchair, therefore she is distressed.
I understand that there is a problem with staffing.

Our father received excellent care and all the staff showed a great deal of kindness and consideration to him. He had a lovely, bright room and it was a cosy home from home. We are so very grateful to the super team at Cavell House Care Home who helped to make the final journey of his life as comfortable

My brother was admitted to Cavell House Care Home in August 2020, suffering from two incurable conditions. At that time he was bed-bound, rarely eating or drinking sufficiently and not communicating. His condition has been completely transformed, to the extent that he can now do all that he couldn't
before. The staff have been extremely accommodating, despite the current Covid climate. If there has been anything required, the staff always supported the family's requests.

I have just come home after visiting my Great Uncle at Cavell House. I was blown away by the kindness of the staff and how my Uncle is being looked after. I was greeted in a professional manner and shown to my Uncle's room, which was very clean and tidy. I could only speak through the window to my Uncle
(due to him self isolating) but the staff had such a beaming smile and warm nature, I instantly knew that he was in safe hands. It is so comforting to know that my Uncle will spend his last days being treated with such care and dignity. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The Covid 19 lockdown ran on throughout my sister's time at Cavell House so I am mostly judging and commenting on impressions from outside looking in. I am satisfied she was looked after as well as was possible. Staff were always far helpful and caring when I phoned or visited.

The team took excellent care of my father during the end of his life. The care, management and attention to my father cannot be faulted. Furthermore, their approach to the COVID virus crisis to ensure the safety of the patient and their co-workers was very diligent and thought through.

Having arrived here after being in a rehab centre following a bad accident, I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful during my stay.
As I was an NHS patient at the home I cannot comment on value for money.

Despite the lockdown the home is coping admirably with Covid-19.
The only thing that is missing would be the outside entertainers to engage with the patients. The level of care from the staff is still at a high standard despite these terrible times. I confirm that I'm looking forward to resuming normal

Overall my dad gets well looked after and if there are issues the manager is always on hand and approachable and she quickly improves the situation or explains why. She has created (with the staff) a home which is friendly, like a family, and my dad seems very settled here.

Whenever I visited my great aunt there was always a cheery welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The staff always made time for a brief chat and were extremely kind and understanding with auntie. After her death, they spoke to me of her last days and reassured me that she died peacefully and gave
her lots of hugs when she most needed them.

Although I live outside UK and can only visit my mother infrequently, Cavell House has always looked after her well, especially during these dangerous times. When my wife and I are able to visit, the staff, medical and managerial people have always been good. Management also communicates well in-between

No one wants to end up needing care home facilities. I found my stay to be both caring and having a sense of well being and security.
The staff all have hearts of gold, and their kindness is so evident.
They were always willing to help with my needs, and with a smile, even at the end long shifts.
If
I were ever to need a care home for whatever reason I would hope that it might be here, where I know I will get the care needed.

We’re less than 10 minutes walk from the Shoreham seafront and our residents love taking in the sea air in our beautiful outside areas.


Our expert team deliver excellent nursing, dementia and respite care in a friendly and supportive environment.


With well-appointed bedrooms and many with garden views, we are proud of our homely atmosphere and person-centred approach to care.
