I was very pleased that we found this care home for my mum, all the staff were very kind and loving towards my mum.

Cavell House has a very happy and positive atmosphere. The nurses are kind, happy and efficient. The rooms are comfortable. The food is good, the amenities satisfactory and the medical care good. I cannot comment on the value for money as I did not have to pay. But I would recommend it to anyone.

My father is getting back to his old self and I would like to thank the staff here for that. He is on the mend from his mental state that was very bad about 6 months ago. He likes the staff and Cavell House, which I thank them for this. I did not want to put him in a home but he wanted to so it wasn't
a decision and I am so glad I did. Thank you all the staff at Cavell House.

The staff are helpful, kind things to do like days out. The food is very good. Very clean. Cavell House feels like a home from home. The manager is very kind and she gets things done and she is warm. The manager is also very easy to talk to. The staff always ask me what I want and nothing is too much

Cavell House was by far the best home out of six I viewed when trying to find a home for my 86 year old Mother. Her words are 'It's not home - but it's the nearest to home there is'. There is always a happy atmosphere and laughter and chit chat is always apparent. The food is excellent and in abundance.
Residents families are encouraged to join in activities, for example, lunch on Mothers Day.

We came for Mother's Day on 31st March 2019. The staff had worked very hard and laid up tables to a very high standard. We had a lovely meal for Mother's Day. Everyone enjoyed the visit and staff are so helpful and friendly. The food was also to a very high standard. Well done!

The staff are so patient and kind with Mum and it is a joy and comfort to our family to hear her engaged with them in a happy way. The chefs are to be commended for the delicious meals - served in the beautifully laid dining room. Cavell House is a 'home from home' and the atmosphere is welcoming.

My mother-in-law is very content at Cavell House and very much enjoys the food. There are always fresh flowers on the dining tables and throughout the communal areas, and the home is clean and never has an unpleasant odour so often present in similar residential establishments. I cannot fault the care provided to Dad from all the staff at Cavell House. It was hard for him to have to accept entering a care home, however, the company, help, support and love shown to him have helped him settle and feel at home and over two years, really feel part of the family here. He eats like
a king. His room is always clean and tidy and there always seems to be something happening. We couldn't be happier with his care.

This provides a great environment for my mother. She is well looked after and treated with respect.
As my mother suffers from advanced dementia, it is often difficult to communicate and encourage her to participate in activities but they persevere and the activity coordinator is excellent.
We are
so pleased we chose Cavell House - we have peace of mind.

Whilst many improvements to the general fabric of the interior have been made, which enhances the experience of both residents and visitors, there appears to be a need to improve food quality, choice of menu and presentation on a daily basis.
For special occasions, a great effort is made to make food
enjoyable and well presented.
The new manager from Autumn 2018 is approachable and has done a great job in bringing the care home to a better standard.

A warm welcome to Cavell House Care Home in Shoreham-by-Sea.


We’re less than 10 minutes walk from the Shoreham seafront and our residents love taking in the sea air in our beautiful outside areas.


Our expert team deliver excellent nursing, dementia and respite care in a friendly and supportive environment.


With well-appointed bedrooms and many with garden views, we are proud of our homely atmosphere and person-centred approach to care.
