Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or
appointments not covered by the NHS, toiletries, newspapers or magazines, any over the counter
medications that a GP wouldn’t normally prescribe such as paracetamol and indigestion relief, and any
other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

We work hard at Darlington Court not only to make sure residents are given the best of care but also that the home is always warm and welcoming for any visitors, especially family members. I understand that the home manager has some time to speak with you directly about your worries and I am sure she will be able to allay your concerns and make sure you always feel comfortable in future, but of course please always feel free to speak to the home manager or a member of the senior care team at any time if there’s anything we can do to help.

I have a master’s degree in social work and a level 5 diploma in health and social care leadership.
These qualifications have been essential, giving me the knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care to residents, as well as support colleagues.
I wanted to work at Care UK because I am passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives. I also wanted to be part of a team that genuinely provides exceptional care.
To be a home manager, you need to have strong communication skills, while also being patient, adaptable, and organised. Problem-solving is also important, as is being compassionate.
My role also means providing a supportive environment for colleagues. Everyone should feel heard and valued. Ultimately, a positive workplace contributes to all our success and the wellbeing of residents.
For me, the best part of the day is when I get the chance to connect with residents and seeing them thrive here. It is incredibly rewarding, knowing that I am part of a team that actively cares about improving people’s lives.
Outside of work, I enjoy DIY projects and going to the gym. Both help me stay active and creative which gives me a great work life balance.
