Country Lodge Nursing Home is a privately run care home on the edge of Worthing, West Sussex. They offer care to older residents whose needs include medical, physical, terminal illness, respite and convalescence care.

They have a team of highly qualified, experienced nursing and care staff who, together with the auxiliary staff, are committed to providing the best possible care for their residents.

Their small size means that staff and residents really get to know one another and create a homely, community feel. With a delightful garden and stunning views over the South Downs and Sussex countryside, their philosophy is to give residents the best possible quality of life while promoting their independence, privacy and dignity.

All bedrooms are charmingly decorated to a high standard and have electric profiling beds, a nurse call system, a flat screen television and telephone. Residents are encouraged to bring in their own furniture if they wish as well as personal effects to truly make their room a home from home.

Country Lodge pride themselves on their delicious home cooked meals. They often use home grown food, and if it not home grown, it is locally sourced and produced. Because of this, they cook seasonal meals that are chosen by the residents.

Country Lodge is also accredited with the Investor in People Award representing excellent and regular training. In March 2022 they were proud to receive a rating of "Good" by the CQC.

Mum has really settled in well and this is pureply down to how lovely the home is but mainly due to how wonderful each and every member of staff is. It is a nice experience for me and my sisters when we visit as we are made so welcome too. Mum didn't ever want to go into a nursing home but now she loves
it which makes us so happy. We 100% recommend.

We found this home back in January 2024. I can only praise all the staff who look after my godmother. It is really a home from home and the care all the residents get is second to none. The entertainment they enjoy are brilliant thank you.

All of the staff are, as ever, kind and understanding. The manager and admin staff are extremely helpful. The hard-working nurses are also very helpful and communicate well. The assistants are always very patient and kind to my, sometimes rather difficult, mum. Place is very well maintained and the
food is excellent. Very impressed.

A huge heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff at Country Lodge Nursing Home, who took the very best care of Mum, right up until her very last breath, allowing Mum to live out her final days in a beautiful home, in beautiful surroundings, and with complete dignity, surrounded by a genuinely loving
staff, whom Mum considered her friends before she passed.
As Mum passed so unexpectedly, both my sister and I were not there at the moment of transition, so it was of great comfort to us that a number of you stayed by Mum's side whilst she gently slipped away, not just because it was part of your role, but because you genuinely cared for Mum, which was obvious in the upset we witnessed when we came to say goodbye to Mum.
Mum never felt at home in any other care home, but you made her feel totally at home, thank you all so much for everything you did for her, our biggest regret is that we didn't know about this amazing home sooner.
Please keep up the great work and God bless you all.

This beautiful nursing home is filled with love and warmth. The staff are always joyful and this reflects throughout. Our Mother is thriving and happy and this is due to the genuine loving care from all the wonderful staff who openly show their affection to her and from the freshly cooked nutritious
meals which Mum loves, and now enjoys food! As relatives, we are made welcome and a part of the Country Lodge family. We are so grateful, and Mum is enjoying her 'extended' family life. There is nothing too beat it. It is just wonderful.

It's not just the 'big' important things they get right - the nursing home is spotlessly clean, the level of care from the staff is exemplary and the food is well thought out/prepared [even down to really good homemade cakes with afternoon tea]. But for me, it's also the attention to detail, the beautiful
garden at the back of the lounge or the way on arrival whoever lets you in always does it with a smile.

It is a wonderful place to visit. I spend a lot of time with my husband. He is end-of-life care. Ther staff and nurses are wonderful and so caring and friendly. I couldn't ask for a better place for my husband and I feel very blessed with the help we are getting.

The staff and management were excellent from the first meeting with the manager we knew this was the place for my dad to end his days. They treated him so well and with kindness and dignity in his last days and hours and someone was with him at the end as we were unable to be there in time.
We were
so impressed with the cleanliness of the whole home, it always smelt so clean, which was a wonderful thing.
Would definitely recommend the home to another person if ever I was asked.
So grateful to them all.

Mum was a resident at Country Lodge for 3 months (Feb - May 2023) after she became unable to stand or walk. All the staff were highly skilled in helping my mum feel safe and at home. They warmly welcomed family members and friends including fun activities. The manager and nurses in charge made time
to discuss with me how to help Mum.
I moved Mum locally on 15th May 2023 only because the journey is 4 hours each way. The staff were so very helpful in preparing Mum to leave, and in helping me to organise the move including helping me with a personalised care plan for the ambulance crew providing Mum and me with a lovely goodbye and a packed lunch.
The rooms and the gardens and view are second to none. When you are inside you forget you are near the main road and are transported to the landscape with the absolutely beautiful garden in the foreground view. The lady gardener is very friendly and lovely to talk to as is everyone at this friendly care home.

My father was treated with great respect and dignity during this period of time and beyond, couldn't have wished for a better nursing home for him than Country Lodge. From the activities to the meals, to the care and to the general love that he got from the home. Although nonverbal you could tell my
father found life there very comforting, nothing was ever too much trouble and as a family we are truly grateful to have found this lovely place.

From the moment our mum was placed in Country Lodge Nursing Home, after a stroke in December 2020, she was delighted with her beautiful room. It was bright and airy and looked out over the beautiful garden and surrounding countryside.
All the staff were amazing and looked after her with great dignity,
care and kindness, and we were also made very welcome on our numerous weekly visits.
The food was delicious and homely and Mum really enjoyed her meals. The room was always spotlessly clean and although the staff were busy they would always have time for a little chat so Mum always felt at home.
It was a real privilege to witness the care my mum received in her final days, we felt lucky she had spent her last year in such a wonderful home.

I loved Country Lodge Nursing Home, I was made to feel one of the family, every one of the staff was so helpful and kind with always a smile and kind words. I felt so at home. Also, the garden was beautiful with plenty of lovely chairs etc to sit on. In other words wonderful.

Hello, I am Debbie Spokes, the Registered Manager here at Country Lodge since 2004. I have been a nurse for 35+ years, working in the NHS, before moving to the private sector. Delivering exemplary care and creating a 'home from home' environment has always remained my highest priority. I am very proud of our wonderful team, built over many years and have never stopped enjoying making a difference in people's lives.
