Maplehurst is rated “OUTSTANDING” by the Care Quality Commission (January 2018) The family owned and run nursing home is rated in the top 4% nationally.

Maplehurst strives to improve the lifestyle and well-being of adults with many specialist conditions, with a particular focus on the challenges of dementia.

The fantastic team of permanent staff allows Maplehurst to consistently deliver personalised and outstanding nursing care in a relaxed and friendly environment for up to 38 residents. There is a strong focus on quality training of staff to make sure that an informed approach to mental health care drives care provision at all times.

The majestic Victorian property has a beautiful rear garden for outdoor activities and is located within walking distance of the train station and local town centre. Residents have a number of lounges to choose from, together with daily activities organised to support interests and a positive social atmosphere.

They make a special effort to retain strong links with the surrounding community and have several local groups and volunteers actively visiting the home.

Maplehurst's inhouse chef allows it to deliver a tasty and varied menu and cater for any special dietary requirements a resident may have. Residents also benefit from the regular visits made by a hairdresser, physiotherapist and chiropodist.

During the time my husband was a resident in Maplehurst, I was more than happy with the home and the way he and I were treated. The care the staff gave my husband showed their understanding of this illness and that reflected in this care and treatment. Also, their support and love shown to me when I
visited him, they always informed me what was going on with the progression of his illness.

The whole package - the staff are absolutely excellent. Whenever I come, which is frequently, I always feel welcome. I really can't fault Maplehurst. I looked around three places and Maplehurst was by far best. It is truly wonderful.

My family regularly visited my mother at Maplehurst where she was a resident for 7 years. Maplehurst was very clean and Mum's room always kept very tidy with her picture on the door, which was a nice touch. Mum was very well looked after and treated with dignity and respect. This gave us peace of mind
that she was being looked after in a professional manner. I was also very impressed by the kindness of the staff towards my family. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. When we arrived, often in large groups, the staff would find us chairs and get us tea and biscuits. We could also use the separate front lounge which gave us private time with Mum.
At the end of my mother's life, we spent a lot more time at Maplehurst. The staff were very accommodating and there were never any issues, whatever time of day or night we arrived or how long we stayed. I can honestly say that for me and my family, Maplehurst was the very best home we could have had for Mum.

The care given by each member of staff to each resident is exceptional. They carry out a demanding job with good humour, dignity and compassion.
The kindness, care and patience shown to my mother has been wonderful.
I have always found the staff to be thoughtful, efficient and helpful during my visits
to my mother. Going to Maplehurst has been a very very positive experience for my mother.

My husband had several issues on admission, including a significant bed sore. The level of clinical and nursing support has been excellent and his improvement has been dramatic with his issues healed up. He moved from a larger home to a smaller home and the overall standards have been outstanding. This
is reflected in the "small touches" as he is always beautifully tucked in, with lots of pillows, and happy and content when I visit. I recommend Maplehurst highly.

As a family we are so grateful and pleased to have moved mum and dad to Maplehurst. They are treated with respect and understanding for the problems they have.
