Originally a country home, Pendean House has been transformed and modernised to provide care for people who require nursing and residential care. Care is also offered to those requiring Parkinson's care and palliative care. Short and long-term stays are welcome.

Pendean House is set within its own large grounds, offering tranquil landscaped gardens complete with a sensory garden and patio areas, and pathways designed for wheelchair access.

Elegant interiors feature oak panelling and decorated fireplaces in comfortable and spacious rooms, while all bedrooms come with en suite facilities and a 24-hour call system for peace of mind. A lift ensures easy access to all floors of the home. Residents have access to an onsite library, an optician, a nutritionist, reminiscence sessions and relaxation therapy.

As an enhanced service to residents, weekly GP visits are conducted at Pendean House Care Home, enabling residents to receive regular, personalised medical reviews as part of the approach to person-centred care.

Residents can enjoy fresh meals daily whilst enjoying views of the well-kept garden.

I have visited Pendean House three times so far. My friend is extremely pleased with his care and gets on well with all the staff. I have talked to staff myself and found them genuinely interested in making residents as relaxed and comfortable as possible. I have had two lunches with my friend in care
that have been good food and happy events.

My sister has received the most wonderful care in her last days. The staff were excellent in caring for her, but as important was the care they have shown to all her relatives and visitors. I have not experienced such tenderness and concern for the patient's relatives before, it was very humbling and
very appreciated by us all.

My husband was taken to Pendean House for palliative care. He was treated with the utmost care and extremely well looked after, we were all made to feel welcome and everyone was very helpful.
I would recommend Pendean House to everyone and could not be more grateful to the staff who took great care
of him.

Warm welcome from staff. Room clean, airy, spacious. Friend clean, bedding clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Staff care about friends well-being.

A very pleasant care home with excellent staff and cleanliness. Lovely gardens to explore on fine days. Very clean and large rooms and toilets.

I have visited only twice. Each time I was treated very well. My friend who I was visiting was too poorly to leave his bed but he had only good things to say about his experience there.

The staff at Pendean are utterly brilliant. They have supported my sister and I, in what has been a really difficult time, following mum's admission on palliative care grounds. They treat mum with dignity and care, always with a smile on their face. Nothing is too much for them, they are happy to help
with any requests we have and to answer any questions we have. They are all full of love and care, one big happy family that work as a team perfectly.
The home itself is immaculate. Beautifully clean and fresh. Lovely rooms and great choices of food. The setting and gardens of Pendean are just beautiful and a welcoming place to visit and to sit and reflect.
I couldn't be happier with our choice of home for mum. We struck gold.

I last visited Pendean in 2005 when my mother was a resident until her death. In those days the telephone system was excellent. It is now appalling, often requiring two calls to contact the residents if not in the room. Please do something to remedy this ridiculous situation which is annoying and frustrating.
Otherwise, the care, staff, management and food are excellent. Don't spoil the ship for a ha'p'orth of tar.

We have recently upgraded our phone systems and the options have changed slightly, if you try an extension and the line is busy, it could be due the mealtime periods or the resident being out of their room if the call re-routes you please advise so we can look into this. My mother had a stroke mid-June 2016, she stayed at Pendean House Care Home after coming our of hospital and before returning home. My initial contact with Pendean was extremely reassuring. A nurse visited mum in hospital to carry out an assessment of her needs. All the Pendean House staff provided
her and the visitors with a warm welcome. Mum found all the staff helpful efficient and mentally stimulating which was very important after her stay in hospital. Pendean House Care Home helped me find a great physio who came into the home to provided physio support which was fundamental to mums recovery. Thank you to everyone at Pendean for your support warmth and professionalism.

My ex-wife, who is very dear to me, entered Pendean House Care Home in August. My partner and I have visited my ex-wife twice and I will be going again this weekend. She is being cared for in a wonderful way. The house is beautiful. The facilities excellent. The staff are absolutely superb. I and my
ex's brother and close friends are so comforted by the way she is being looked after. The care she gets is the very best we and she could expect. We send thanks to all at Pendean for their compassion and care.

We are always made very welcome as visitors at once. there is an atmosphere of calm and extreme cleanliness. Also the staff are always so kind and helpful to our old friend (who is nearly 90) so well cared for and happy.

Pendean management and staff are just wonderful, all staff. The home is clean, well managed and works well. The care level is so so good. My mother was a resident for nearly 2 and a half years. I cannot find a single fault. The care of the nurses and the compassion they demonstrated is way beyond the
call of duty. I cannot thank everyone enough.

I am the Home Manager at Pendean House Care Home, I came into my role in 2023. I oversee the management and the running of the home to a high standard.


I have worked in the care sector since 1998, starting as a Qualified Nursery Nurse. I had the opportunity to set up facilities for Learning Disabilities and Mental Health provisions from scratch. It has always been my priority to provide a warm, caring and person-centred environment to every resident and member of staff.


The part of my role that I enjoy the most is making a difference to everyone in their own way. A simple smile or hug, warm cup of tea or chat with a listening ear can make the biggest difference to someone's day.


I am a single parent of two young children (7 and 9). I relocated from Essex to Littlehampton in May 2023 to be nearer to my parents. The move has been a life changer for me and my children. We love swimming, walks, BBQ's and spending time with friends and family.

I am the Financial Administrator at Pendean House.


I gained my AAT qualification back in 1997 whilst working for WSCC but as soon as I passed, I changed careers and became an IT Engineer. I was working for a media company based in London before taking up employment with Farnborough College of Technology and then Guildford College. Having had enough of the daily commute I looked for something more local and took a position supporting a global company that dealt with student accommodation. The IT department was then outsourced, and my employment was moved to the new contractors. The outsourcing contract was terminated in September 2023, so I then started to look for local employment hence I now find myself working for the lovely Pendean House.


I love coming into the home and seeing a variety of people from residents to my colleagues -everyone has a different experience to tell you about.


I live literally 5 minutes down the road. I make my own jewellery -nothing fancy mainly costume and purely for myself as my taste may not be for everyone.

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant

I am a Senior Care Assistant at Pendean House as well as an Engagement Champion and Fire Trainer.


When my dad died from cancer his care wasn't the best. I started working with a home care agency and later came to Pendean in the hope I could make a difference in people's lives.


What I love most about working at a care home is that every day is different and I have the privilege of assisting our elderly residents in their day-to-day life at Pendean House.


Outside of work, I am mum to 5 amazing children and I am slightly animal crazy! My dream is to swim with pigs in the Bahamas!
