Rectory House is a beautifully preserved building with a Georgian style frontage and inviting driveway lined with oak, pine and chestnut trees. Located in Sompting, with a warm family atmosphere, highly trained staff are available to get to know residents individually offering the highest standards of residential, nursing and palliative care on a permanent and short stay basis.

The main part of the house was built in 1785, but the original part of the building dates back to the 1580s. The house has been refurbished but still retains the gracious features of the past - high ceilings and attractive ornate cornices. The two-acre mature landscaped gardens are perfect for residents to either relax or convalesce.

The main aspect of the house faces South with all of the rooms having ensuite facilities and emergency nurse-call systems. Residents can also bring items of personal furniture, mementos and other treasures - all helping them to feel that Rectory House is their real 'Home from Home.' There are two beautifully appointed lounges where residents can relax, read a book or socialise. The conservatory with views over the garden is another place where residents can enjoy quiet moments.

Caring and qualified staff are on hand 24 hours a day ensuring that all residents' needs are catered for.

At Rectory House, my mother is cared for - as opposed to simply being treated. She is respected as an individual and her likes and dislikes respected.
The home puts on many activities to interest residents and stimulate their lives which is appreciated.
I simply could not provide the level of care
that Rectory House does and appreciate their hard work and love.

The experience at Rectory House for my uncle was excellent. The care provided, the attitude of the staff, the facilities and management here have all been first class. Whenever we would visit the staff were all so friendly and looked after us (with tea and coffee). Just as well as they looked after
Uncle, I can't recommend the whole institute highly enough.

My husband came to Rectory House from hospital after a stroke. I was told it was for end of life care of about two months. He was very happy here and stayed for three birthdays and almost four. The staff were excellent and he liked them all. He was registered blind. Everything was super. The meals looked
and tasted special - I took a picture of them! My husband and I enjoyed the entertainment. It was like 'a date'. Thank you all at Rectory House.

My mother passed away peacefully on 16th December at Rectory House Nursing Home. I would like to thank your organisation, in particular, the Rectory House team. Throughout mum's stay, she was loved and exceptionally well cared for. All the staff without exception were friendly and helpful, nothing was
too much trouble. They also looked after our wellbeing as well. Mum was very happy there, neither she or ourselves had any complaints at any time. Absolutely an amazing home and well run, like one big family. Our grateful thanks to you all and wish your organisation a great future.

My mother is currently a resident at Rectory House. She is nearing the end of her life, having spent seven weeks in hospital and six years prior to this in another care home. Rectory House is exceptional and I have plenty of experience with our care providers that are not!. The manageress is always
available, helpful and jolly and very caring. All the staff are purposeful, happy and loving towards the residents and their families. The old building is warm, comfortable and exudes a relaxing aura, with beautiful outdoor areas, moreover it is safe, secure with good food. I highly recommend Rectory House.

Thank you to all at Rectory House for the professionalism, compassion, & total dedication of each & every member of the team for the care given to my father since he moved in last December. I know that Dad can be extremely difficult & I admire the patience shown by all. Rectory House has alleviated
the heartache we, his family, felt trying to find a home good enough & within our budget for Dad, & believe me, we visited many homes in our search. The Manger made the transition from a ‘less than satisfactory’ care home to Rectory House easy. Dad soon became more settled & thrived on regular meals & proper administration of medication. When it comes to care for elderly & needy, there is no ‘one size fits all’. Rectory House really do cater to every character, temperament, & palate. The atmosphere, the facilities, the accommodation & the general ambience of Rectory House is friendly & homely–it could not be more different to all the negative programmes about care homes seen on TV.
