Bramley Court Care Home is an award-winning, established Cambridgeshire care home providing high-quality residential, nursing and dementia care. In June 2023 it maintained its ‘Outstanding’ rating with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), testament to its consistent rating of excellence.

Bramley Court is a welcoming and social home decorated and furnished to a high standard. It features a lively bistro and bar, salon and cinema along with comfortable lounges and relaxing dining rooms, not to mention, the home's loving dog Pip. The tranquil sensory gardens are home to the unique outdoor ‘Bramley Village’. This dementia-friendly environment includes a gym, café, shop and mini golf course, all designed to bring purpose and a sense of familiarity to residents.

Our whole family is so appreciative of the incredible teamwork and dedication shown by everyone at Bromley Court. The atmosphere is welcoming and homely, who with all staff knowing and using the names of all residents. Those living with dementia are treated with love, kindness and imagination and there
is constant push to learn, support and improved services. This home really deserves its CQC outstanding rating.

My mother has been a resident at Bramley Court for about seven months. I live in Scotland, so this was my first visit. I was so impressed by the ethos of the home. The staff are so friendly and attentive - Not only to residents but family too. I appreciate the focus on residents as people. The focus
is not clinical but friendly. I feel much happier seeing my mum is looked after so well.

Mum moved to Bramley Court three months ago as she needed 24-hour nursing care. She was given such a warm welcome and settled in very quickly. The facilities are outstanding and she has benefitted from all the activities and good food on offer with a definite improvement in her health. The key has been
the warmth, compassion and professionalism of all the staff who pride themselves on creating a family atmosphere for all the residents and relatives. I'm so happy we found Bramley Court for Mum - I can't fault it.

Faultless throughout the whole process of choosing a care home. Everyone at the home cares immensely about its residents, and it shows. Rooms are bright and spacious throughout the home, and everywhere is clean and well-presented.
One staff member, in particular, has been thoroughly professional and
caring throughout, from viewing initially to now moving in; all his team members are so friendly and thoughtful.
So glad we were able to get our parents into such a nice home-from-home place.

I am not sure what I was expecting, but I knew I needed respite care. By the end of two weeks, I came home feeling refreshed, having received much kindness and care. The food, most of the time, was excellent, although I am not sure what was going on with the soup, which contained so much salt it blotted
out the flavour of the soup. On the other hand, Sunday lunch was delicious. Really appreciated the various activities each day; there was something for everyone.

My experience has been nothing but positive. My mother-in-law's care is exceptional. She often says she is happy. She enjoys the wide range of activities. The food looks of good quality and nutritious. The care team demonstrate their great affection for all the residents at Bramley.

Mum receives excellent care from all team members. When visiting Mum she is always well-presented in clean clothes. This is important to Mum, as she was always meticulous in her appearance. All the events, including those Bramley, put on for residents' families to attend, were fully inclusive. A huge
amount of effort was made to make the home look amazing for Christmas. As a family member of someone in Bramley, I am always welcomed when I visit and I feel my welfare is valid too. When I take Mum for a trip out, when I bring her back she is welcomed with warm hugs, which produces huge smiles from Mum. This makes me confident that Mum is happy and content in her home at Bramley.

Mum is so well taken care of! The staff go above and beyond to make sure she and the other residents are safe, loved, engaged and busy. They take her out for walks most days and organize fun activities multiple times a day to keep someone like my mother mentally stimulated. And they truly care about
everyone's well-being!

Excellent care all round - kind, thoughtful, efficient and generally caring about my mum's well-being. Quality of accommodation, food etc, excellent. Facilities are of a very high standard, and the general ambience is very pleasant. I don't think my mum could be living anywhere better.

Mum has been a resident at Bramley Court for 16 months. She has received excellent care and she always says how much she likes all the staff. Mum has had a couple of illnesses in these 16 months and the care staff have always been on top of the situation, calling in the doctors when required and keeping
me informed. This has obviously been a difficult period for care homes but visiting has been kept as open as possible and we have always been kept well-informed about changes in visiting arrangements. The environment is lovely, and the home goes to great lengths to provide activities and trips.
While not the cheapest in the area, for peace of mind knowing mum is in a good place and is being well looked after we are very happy with our choice of the care home.

We moved our mum here from another home which had sold itself well but where we weren't at all happy with the actual standard or level of care. The staff at Bramley Court worked actively with us to help her settle and feel safe in her new surroundings. It's already clear that she feels much safer now.
The staff are friendly, kind, and attentive, and the atmosphere is good. Lots of effort is put into providing a range of activities for residents, and when I went in one day when activities were on hold because of a Covid outbreak I found a staff member in my mum's room, looking through photographs with her and chatting. Bramley Court feels reassuring for me because it feels genuine - the care for and engagement with the residents seem real, so I don't worry about my mum between visits.

We have been part of the Bramley Court Care Home family since February 2017 and both my mother and my mother-in-law have been residents. We have always been happy with the service provided and have never felt uneasy about any aspect of care. We would certainly advise any friends to get in touch with
Bramley Court if the need for residential care arose.

Since moving to the dementia floor, my husband has had excellent treatment, is very caring, and takes time to talk to him, especially about his main interest. He has been taken out of bed more often and placed in the communal areas. As a visitor, I have been made to feel very welcome and kept informed
if there is any change in his condition.
He was well looked after on his previous floor, but it is now more personal.

My mother has been a resident here for almost a year now, and I always feel very welcome when I go to visit Mum. The staff are very approachable, and regular relatives meetings provide an opportunity to keep in touch with what is being planned and implemented. The standard of care seems quite good,
and the room is perfectly adequate. The facilities are very good. The food can be a bit variable, but there is always a choice, at lunch and at dinner time. I don't think we could have found anywhere better locally.

As usual, Bramley has made the Christmas Fayre a happy and festive occasion.

My husband is being extremely well looked after in Bramley Court. As his dementia has got worse, so has his care been varied to meet his changing needs. The staff have got to know him well and are very caring. I also feel they care for me, helping me cope with his deterioration. I feel part of the Bramley
family and am able to raise issues as needed. I don't think he could be in a better place.
A regular dementia support group of family members has been a great help too.

Excellent care home with caring staff. My mother is very happy there. Rooms personalised! The resident dog is a bonus. The food is tasty and the cakes/sweets very tempting. Staff is always on hand to chat.

Care staff on my mother's floor (nursing) are very variable, some excellent, some OK, some unsatisfactory.
Often not enough care taken with positioning or feeding.
In my opinion, there is a bias towards entertaining the residents on the ground floor.
My mother cannot see much, meaning her main
pleasure is through music or interaction with others. This is not available enough on her floor.

Our dedicated team members are always on hand to support your mother during mealtimes and these interactions, along with the mealtime experiences of all residents across our home, are regularly observed by myself and senior members of our team as part of our quality assurance process. Our varied lifestyles and well-being schedule are a central part of life at Bramley and it's developed in partnership with our residents and what their interests are. Whilst some events are on our ground floor, being our largest communal area, residents from across our home join in too. We also hold a number of different events in our other communities as well as regular 1-2-1 time. We always encourage your mother to the variety of activities, including things like our weekly choir which we're delighted she enjoys. However, sometimes she doesn't feel like taking part and we will always respect her wishes. Please get in touch if you'd like to discuss anything at all.

We moved Mum from another home as we were unhappy with the care she was receiving. We had to try but were not sure it would make a difference. From day one, we knew we'd made the right decision. Bramley Court is very welcoming. It feels like a home environment, which not only the residents, but family
members too benefit from. Communication is excellent. The facilities and activities available are extremely high quality. All the staff are friendly, helpful and kind, even ones I encounter who are not part of Mum's team. Mum's carers and medics have taken time to understand and know her and us and it is wonderful to share humour, despite sad circumstances. The staff are patient and kind and go beyond duty, I feel, to try and improve her limited life quality. I believe Bramley to be exceptional care.

Judith

Judith Wroe

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2022

Judith has extensive senior care experience having worked in the sector since leaving college. In a career spanning over 20 years within elderly care, mental health and supported living management roles, Judith has run two large Bupa homes and held the position of Senior General Manager for Barchester Healthcare.


As head of the Bramley Family, Judith supports the continuation of outstanding, person-centred care that residents expect and deserve.


Speaking about her role, Judith said: “I love Bramley Court’s ethos of really getting to know and love our residents, looking beyond someone’s medical and physical needs, to deliver the best possible care. That’s something I’m really passionate about. We have a skilled, well-established team which put compassionate care at the forefront of everything we do.”


When not at Bramley Court, Judith enjoys spending time with her family. She likes to relax with a good book and also loves to travel.


Maureen

Maureen Hudson

Job Title: Director of Dementia Care

Joined: 2009

Maureen began her career in care over 21 years ago as a carer in a nursing home and has been supporting older people in a variety of fulfilling roles ever since. She joined Bramley Court 12 years ago as a Senior Carer, quickly progressing to Team Leader where she was proud to oversee the launch of our dementia community. Later she became our Deputy Manager. However, supporting residents to live well with dementia has been a great passion for Maureen and led her to one of her proudest moments; winning the East of England Great British Care Award for Dementia Care in 2010. As Director of Dementia, Bramley Court is Maureen’s second home and she never wavers in her passion for respecting and supporting our residents to live their very best lives.
