Cherry Hinton Care Home is a warm inviting home offering expert nursing and dementia care to those requiring support or assistance. The home prides itself on the experienced, personalised, bespoke and attentive care provided to residents which is delivered by a team of dedicated and committed carers and nurses. Cherry Hinton are proud to announce their Hospitality Assured Accreditation 'WORLD CLASS' status along with their Investors in People Platinum award. The home is rated GOOD across all borders in their most recent CQC virtual inspection which was conducted in July 2021.

The wellbeing team are passionate about providing a range of activities, trips and events which cater to the interests of those living at the home. Whether enjoying musical, word, activity, arts and crafts or creative activities or enjoying trips to museums and places of interests, the team are enthused by offering something for everyone to suit all preferences.

The enclosed courtyard garden offers a beautiful tranquil space to enjoy, enabling all residents to wander through and take pleasure in hearing and seeing stimulating sounds and sights in different areas. Raised beds enable easy access to plants for residents to be able to touch and smell the flora and fauna, and a lovely conservatory also allows for residents to sit in comfort and look out over the garden which can be enjoyed all year around.

Quality furniture and soft furnishings are used throughout the home to provide a high level of comfort for residents and the home invests in refurbishment to maintain the standards of a quality environment. Rooms are spacious and fully furnished as well as all supplied with LCD TV. The home offers high-speed internet access for both residents and their visitors.

This is an excellent care home.
Since my friend moved in her well-being has improved tremendously.
The staff are all so lovely and very caring, each and every one of them.
Their activities program is excellent, providing something for all the residents
She is so happy in here, I know she is safe
and well looked after always.

Following discharge from hospital, our mother resided at the care home for end-of-life care on the dementia ward. She was very well cared for during the short time she was there before passing away. All the staff were friendly, totally dedicated to all the residents and so attentive to any of our needs,
particularly during the last few days of our mother’s life.

Mum has improved since she was moved downstairs. It's been really nice to see her taking part in the activities available and although she's not been used to group activities in the past, I think she's enjoying taking part. All the staff I've met have a positive attitude and are very friendly. Mum's
room is spacious and clean and she tells me the food is good. Hopefully Mum can get some time in the garden when the weather improves. Overall, I'm very happy with the home and would recommend it to others.

I entered the Cherry Hinton Care Home for a period of four weeks, starting 14th January 2022, to accompany my wife who was admitted as a resident on the same day.
The purpose of my visit was to help her settle into dementia nursing on a permanent basis. This was successful and she is now residing in
the dementia nursing section. She eats and keeps well but is continuously active, walking around the dementia section.

My 96-year-old mother has settled in well after an emergency hospital admission from her bungalow home and now is staying permanently at Cherry Hinton Care Home as she needs more care than can otherwise be provided for her. The staff have been understanding of the emotional upset for the whole family
during her recovery and have facilitated visits and Skype calls. Mum's room has been made 'her own' and she enjoys the food and the activities. She was particularly pleased to attend a resident's meeting and be able to attend church. The home is clean and I appreciate the clinical cleanliness and the efforts to keep residents safe during Covid. Well done to all staff working under pressure at this time. I know that Mum is as safe and as happy as she can be at this time of her life.

My mum received excellent care are Cherry Hinton Care Home. They took care of her as if she were their own family member. They are a rare group of people and are dedicated to their residents who are treated with great kindness and concern. They live up to their name of T L C Care Ltd.

The home is clean, stylish, spacious places with very cheerful and cosy rooms for each resident. En-suite bathroom, bed, all furniture, feels like being at home.
Care in the home is excellent, always smiling and helpful staff showing loving care. Food was always good and tasty, especially soups. I
had excellent two weeks to help me recover from my major operation. Thank you everyone.

My brother was placed in the home following an eight week stay in hospital. He was extremely fragile physically, the home were exceptional in ensuring that he was fed his meals and cared for in an empathetic manner by both nurses and care assistants. All the staff at the home were kind, caring and courteous
at all times and nothing was too much trouble. An exceptional environment that we rated highly.

My dad had two periods of respite in the Cherry Hinton Care Home and then became a permanent resident. He had dementia and terminal illness.
I cannot rate the home more highly. Every single colleague was caring and warm and he was treated with dignity and respect. The kindness they showed to me and

My daughter and I first visited the home when my husband was in hospital and a return to the family home was not possible. We were warmly welcomed and were impressed by the facilities on offer and by the friendliness of the staff and other residents. We have since seen first-hand the professional and
caring side of all members of staff. My husband is treated with dignity and respect and always in a calm manner. All residents are called by name, as are family members and visitors, and there is always a member of staff available to help if needed. Residents are encouraged to join in the many activities on offer and there is always a selection of home-cooked, nutritional food on offer. The home is also very clean.
As a family, we feel confident that my husband is being looked after as well as he possibly can be and are happy to recommend Cherry Hinton Care Home to those looking for care for a loved one.

I am so happy with the care my father has received, he came in double incontinent, now only needs a pad for urine. My independent, 90-year-old mother was not at all keen to go into a nursing home but her mobility deteriorated and there was really no other option. I was surprised and relived how quickly she settled in. Staff are all lovely and kind, unhurried and professional. Food is very good with plenty of choice,
and a lot of thought has gone into a varied programme of activities. She has especially enjoyed the exercise classes and a piano concert. Rooms are nicely furnished and everywhere is kept very clean. There is a lovely garden which is easy to access in a wheelchair. She is happy and well looked after which makes all the difference to me.

During the time my wife has been here, she has been supported even when she was trying to refuse help. The staff have, in the main, been very helpful when required and step back when necessary. I joined Cherry Hinton Care Home in November 2019 as a Care Services manager. I am a Registered nurse by profession with a management qualification at Graduate level. I worked as a Registered nurse in various settings for 8 years and worked as a Care Manager for the last 5 years. Caring is my passion and I worked my way up from being a carer. I've been promoted as Home Manager from February 1st 2021. In my role, I make sure that all our residents are getting high-quality, person-centred care based on their needs and preferences. Also, support all our residents to maintain the quality of life by preserving and promoting independence. I have a very good team of highly motivated and skilled nurses and carers to support me to ensure quality of care to all our residents.

I left the company for a short break and have now rejoined as HR and Finance Manager. I am passionate about building relationships with the residents here at Cherry Hinton and also the relatives who I have got to know over the years. Before this, I spent 19 years working with another provider, where I held various roles, including team leader, deputy manager, and Home manager, and worked as a registered nurse. These experiences have allowed me to develop knowledge and skills I am eager to share with the team. At the same time, I’m committed to learning from each of you and embracing new growth opportunities.

With nearly a decade of experience in childcare, Shannon transitioned to her current role as Office Manager at Cherry Hinton Care Home over two years ago. In her position, she provides vital support to the Business Support Manager, specifically in areas of HR and finances, ensuring smooth operations and effective administration.


Beyond her office management duties, Shannon plays a key role in fostering a positive and supportive workplace as the Engagement Champion. She is also a qualified Mental Health First Aider, offering support to colleagues and promoting well-being across the team. Additionally, Shannon serves as the Onboarding Coach, guiding new staff through a welcoming and structured induction process.


Her time at Cherry Hinton Care Home has been a fulfilling journey of growth and learning. Embracing opportunities for personal and professional development, she has contributed to building a dynamic and compassionate environment for both staff and residents.
