Etheldred House is a purpose-built care home, providing nursing and residential person-centred care to adults aged 65+ including those living with dementia.

The care home, which offers long term and respite care is situated in the village of Histon with good access to local shops and a library. Cambridge city centre is five miles away.

Etheldred House is divided into four houses over two floors, Apple, Pear, Cherry and Strawberry, each with its own communal lounge, dining area, kitchenette and bathroom facilities.

All bedrooms are single occupancy with en-suite facilities. The upper floor is accessed by stairs or a lift.

Other facilities at Etheldred House include a café and a children's play room.

Etheldred House provides:

My mother has been a resident here for a few years now and the standard of care she receives is of high quality. Nothing is too much trouble all staff happy to help.

All the staff are friendly and always willing to help. Lovely atmosphere in the home. It's nice to know grandma is well looked after.

The staff are very caring and helpful and with my husband. The office girls are always willing to help! Everything is done to care for the person that is ill.

The home is very clean and tidy. Staff are very friendly, caring and understanding. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them, from the kitchen to the manager's office. My room is very lovely and comfortable to sleep.

Frontline staff, mostly Romanian and Bulgarian, all have good English, work extremely hard and have a natural caring attitude towards residents. I cannot praise them enough. I spend many hours there and see first hand without exception these carers giving comfort and caring words and deeds. Just wish
they were paid better so they could see how appreciated they are by visitors to our relatives.

Santall has been the General Manager at Etheldred House since November 2008. Santall began her career in management in 2004 as a Residential Care Manager and has been a Home Manager since October 2006.
Santall holds numerous qualifications relating to care including Registered Managers Award.

Joined: 2008

Enrica became the Care Manager at Etheldred House in November 2008 and is a Registered General Nurse.
Enrica is responsible for the running of the home in the absence of the Manager.
