Holmwood House is located within walking distance of Swaffham town centre, set within acres of beautiful grounds, an extended Grade II listed building dating from 1846.

Many of the original features have been retained and it has been sympathetically and tastefully converted. The main house has eight bedrooms, all enjoying fantastic views over the grounds.

Accessible from the main house is a purpose-built ground floor extension consisting of 32 bedrooms. All have en-suite facilities and there are two comfortable lounges, both of which have direct access to an enclosed garden. There is also a dining room and specialist facilities for bathing and showering.

Added in 2008, the Woodland Suite provides 19 en-suite bedrooms catering specifically for those with dementia and provides a safe and secure environment. There is a large lounge with unlimited access to a secure sensory garden, with residents taking an active role in its development.

My mother was allocated a place at Holmwood House Care Centre at the same time she became unwell and was admitted to hospital. Holmwood House Care Centre held the room for us and supported our family and helped to get mum moved into here for end of life support. Unfortunately, my mum only survived for
one day and did not get to experience all the facilities at Holmwood House Care Centre. The staff were extremely caring and supportive during her last few hours. I cannot thank them enough.

I have been very pleased with the care and treatment my mother experienced whilst in Holmwood House.
All nursing staff were considerate and caring showing understanding of my mother's condition (vascular dementia) and acting in a supportive manner to her and myself.
The atmosphere of the home is welcoming
and inclusive and a good variety of activities are available to residents.
I was greatly impressed with the humanity shown especially when my mother was near to death.
The care showed concern for her state at the same time as reassuring and supporting her daughters.
She was in good hands.

My Mum has recently gone into Holmwood House after a short spell in hospital and due to her not being able to manage to care for herself at home.
She is now cared for and well looked after and treated as though she is family and to know she is safe has eased the stress and worry for me.
The home is
managed very well and all the staff are friendly and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. I hope Mum will continue to enjoy her time there.

Dad never wanted to go into a home, but after 1 week he settled in and is very happy. He enjoys the food and the banter with the carers.
The carers are always polite and always seem happy. We have not had any real problems since dad has been there, all the family feel that they can discuss any problems
with management quite happily.
I am an ex carer and I feel dad is very well looked after and he is happy which is most important to us.

We selected Holmwood House for my mothers care due to the very good impression given at our initial meeting - they talked about my mother and her care needs before talking about fees. My mother arrived in February 2016 with a very poor prognosis but 16 months later she is happy and comfortable thanks
to the care she has been given. I'm always kept informed of any change in her treatment or her condition. The staff are always very friendly and genuinely caring and the whole place seems to have an excellent community atmosphere.

In May the care home held a dementia awareness session which my husband and I attended and found very useful. The speakers were in-house staff and one of them was actually one of my father's carers. It was reassuring to hear her speak of her knowledge and understanding of this terrible disease. After
the session the home put on a 1950s tea party. An entertainer was invited along. There was dancing and plenty of tea and cake. A really good event and my thanks go to the staff for arranging this.

My dad was very well cared for during his stay at Holmwood House. He was treated with respect and was showed a lot of love by all the staff. He was a unique resident due to the fact he did not sleep at night, but was always catered for during this time. The staff helped with his drawing and painting
needs often sharing their time with him. He could be difficult at times but everybody coped with him admirably. Many thanks.

Staff at Holmwood house gave the residents all the care and attention they required, and all staff from the manager right down to the cleaning lady gave the residents 110% attention. What more could you ask for!

When it was decided my mother had to go into care, we were given a choice my husband being a Paramedic had visited all of the care homes in the area, while he was on duty, it was by his recommendation that my mother went to this home from the moment she arrived. To the day she passed away the care that
she received was second to none. Everything about this home was exceptional the staff always amazing and very supportive not only to my mother but to all of the family

My mother was cared for in Holmwood House Care Centre from August 2010 until she died in April 2015. She was 90 when she went into Holmwood House Care Centre because she was unable to stay in her own home without 24 hour care. I learnt a lot from seeing the gentleness and compassion with which my mother
was treated in Holmwood House, I appreciate also the support the staff gave me during this difficult period facing my mothers decline and death.

My mum went into Holmwood House in April 2013, she was there for 18 months. It was sudden that she went into Holmwood as she could no longer care for herself. As soon as she went in she fitted in. She was cared for as a family member, she wrote to friends on email, yes email and she was 94 with her
own ipad, saying it was like being in a five star hotel. She was treated well by the office staff nurses, carers, cleaners and kitchen staff. She enjoyed all her meals, she was treated with respect and dignity and she was very content and her last few weeks alive she was happy.
