My Aunt now receiving end of life care, all staff have been very kind and helpful in these very difficult times. Aunt is a very difficult customer but has always been happy and content. Thinks she is on holiday and is always 'going home in a few weeks.'
Nice to see outside general repairs being carried
out as the building was starting to look tired.

I would like to thank all the staff and carers for their 100% dedication to their work and they exceeded that with all the love and kindness they showed my dad. They made all our butterfly experience so much easier. Dedicated and utter respect for their residents and visitors. A lovely peaceful place

My mum moved into Larchwood just over a year ago. It was my first experience moving a loved one into a care home (quite a major life-changing choice for all involved) but essential for her day-to-day care. From my first contact with the nurses and further meeting all the staff, they helped greatly in
putting my mind at ease at a time which can be very stressful.


I had initial reservations about Larchwood's poor CQC ratings (as a first-timer, not sure how to work out which care home was best for my mum) but through the new management team (in just before my mum) you could tell they were trying really hard to make a great difference in improving their reputation through making the care of the residents their top priority.


With Covid it has been a challenging year for everyone but they have exceeded my expectations of the care I hoped my mum would receive. They have also excelled in supporting family access via video calls and controlled visits (with PPE).


My thanks to all the staff.

My Mum was admitted from hospital for palliative care and only expected to be with us for "a couple of short weeks". Being in the middle of the Covid pandemic this dreadful time had been made worse over the previous months with lack of access to Mum as she deteriorated. From the moment she arrived
at Larchwood I felt better, she was looked after by the staff as though she was family, in addition, they allowed me and our dog almost unlimited access which meant Mum and I had some very precious times. Mum's deterioration slowed and she was with us for nearly two months and I am sure this is because of the care and kindness shown by the management and staff. Larchwood may not be glossy with 5* menus and facilities but they are 6* where it matters.
I would recommend any family looking for a "home" for a loved one to talk to the team here.

I visited my father-in-law who was a resident at Larchwood House for approximately six weeks until he sadly died. I found Larchwood House to be warm and welcoming, and we couldn't have asked for better for him, particularly during his last days.
It's the dedication, caring and warmth shown by all staff
at Larchwood House that stood out for me. They, in my opinion, make this an excellent home.

My father was admitted to Larchwood House for nursing care after a severe stroke, then again for palliative care. Initially, I thought the place looked a little run down, but soon came to realise that the staff are what makes the place! They prepared an immaculate, yet homely room for my father, provided
second-to-none care for him, including meals adapted to his conditions and I always felt that he was well cared for, safe, welcome and listened to. Whilst my father was dying, the staff were tremendous. I would not hesitate to recommend them. Both my sister and I are glad that he spent the last few weeks of his life treated with dignity and respect and are grateful for the staff that made that possible.

My father is a resident at Larchwood, although he can at times be awkward, I have always found the staff to be very caring and responsive to him.
My father is very happy and well cared for at Larchwood and the staff are always happy and willing to help, they are a strong team doing a difficult job,
they all have my support, keep up the good work all at Larchwood.

My friend can be difficult/demanding at times, but the staff are great with him, despite their busyness. They seem genuinely fond of him, which gives me confidence.
I have read other comments - in particular, the smell of urine, but I have not found that to be pervading, just a hint now and again,
but less than other homes I have visited - and I am being honest here.
My friend is very happy with the food also.
The only criticism I can make is that there is a delay in getting attention sometimes, but again I have found that everywhere. You can't expect one- to- one care without astronomical costs.

My father was a resident at Larchwood for a very short time until he sadly passed away. During his stay, he was treated with enormous respect and kindness by everyone. The staff were totally professional but obviously love their work and truly care for the residents. When my father came here from hospital,
he couldn't do anything for himself but with the care and understanding shown to him, he started to improve and enjoy life again. Just the day before he passed he was thoroughly enjoying a sing along with the other residents.
If you are looking for a care home for a family member then look no further, Larchwood is absolutely brilliant.

The nursing home from which my father was taken and placed in Larchwood house neglected not only his health but also his physical well-being. The staff at Karchwood House who I have come to know are all caring and were very attentive to my father's needs. Furthermore, they were friendly and professional.
My father was looked after at Larchwood House very very well and I wish he had been there from the moment he was discharged from hospital.

I am very impressed with the changes under the new management. My mum has a lovely garden facing room and I have always found the staff to be amazing. They are so genuinely kind and caring and do such an incredible job. They always engage with my mum and there are some real-life heroes and heroines
working at Larchwood. There are regular activities and the brilliant events co-ordinator updates the social network page on a daily basis, so you can keep in touch with all the activities. The recent Royal Wedding Party was a nice touch and I really enjoyed spending the afternoon yesterday sitting out in the courtyard with mum, whilst the residents all shared ice pops to keep themselves cool! Under the new manager, I expect this home to go from strength to strength. Keep up the good work all at Larchwood - it is very much appreciated.

The care and attention my mother receives is very good. My mother's needs are complex and nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff. I was so impressed by the nice smell as we entered the reception area/main walkway. The staff were so friendly and happy. The whole place seems regenerated under the new management. I loved the photos of all the residents as we entered. The future party for the Royal Wedding is really nice touch! Keep
