Meadow House offers dedicated care for people with a physical disability, specialising in care for people with multiple sclerosis. This purpose built, single storey Home opened in 1989 and has built up an enviable reputation in both the local and wider community for its high quality care. It has been sympathetically designed to offer a range of single rooms, a welcoming reception area, large lounges, dining room and a separate Activities Centre, all of which are available for residents and their guests to enjoy. Although rooms are fully furnished, they encourage residents to bring their own items of furniture and personal effects to complement those provided.

Meadow House is situated on the outskirts of the pretty market town of Swaffham, near to a range of shops and amenities. To ensure that residents continue to have an active social life, regular trips are organised in the minibus to the local shops, theatre, etc. If you simply wish for peace and tranquillity, well maintained gardens with raised flower beds surround the Home, allowing you to enjoy a haven from the bustle of the town.

Care staff, who usually do not wear a uniform, are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their nursing skills but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. They are on hand around the clock to provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual. Of course, a qualified physiotherapist is on hand for specialist help.

Care workers regularly assess each resident so that they can be sure their needs are met and supply specialised equipment if required. An optician, dentist, hairdresser and chiropodist visit by appointment providing all the usual services including manicures and hand massages. Catering staff provides delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, as well as special dishes for those with particular dietary requirements.

A friend of mine moved into Meadow House just over two months ago, and a few key members of staff have helped him settle in so well. They are there for him always, and he is so happy. He has a really good relationship with the activities coordinator. Seeing my friend happy and settled tells me he’s
in the perfect place.

I can not recommend the wonderful Meadow House Nursing Home and its amazing team highly enough!
The efforts put in by every single member of staff to ensure that our loved ones receive the best possible care are outstanding.
My sister celebrated her birthday in August and they arranged for her favourite
singer to come in and perform, there were scones with jam and cream and the cake made by the most wonderful staff member was absolutely gorgeous!
We were all able to attend as a family and had a beautiful day.
It is these lovely touches that make it such a wonderful place, special memories can continue to be made, and nothing ever seems too much trouble.
Every day there is an activity, this is not an easy thing to achieve, to constantly come up with new and engaging ideas, but one staff member works so very hard to make everyone happy and he is a real credit to the team.
Thank you to each and every one of you, you are all part of our family.

Such a lovely place. Always clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. My friend, who lives here, is happy and well taken care of. They also speak highly of the home and are always doing activities and keeping busy. It has more of a homely feel to it rather than a care/nursing home. Very nice

I truly can not believe the progress my nephew has made since being at Meadow House. The care is outstanding, you can feel how friendly and happy the home is from the minute you walk through the door. Everyone is welcoming and the staff always make time to let me know how he is doing. In 2 months he
has gone from being in bed all the time to sitting in a chair and never being in his room! He is joining in with things and enjoys joking with the staff. He has even had a bath and agreed to have more which is a miracle! I can not thank them enough for improving his quality of life so much in such a small amount of time.

Despite the huge strain Covid impressed on the staff at Meadow House, their care did not fall short. As soon as able all the activities resumed and I am amazed at all events that are happening at the home. Difficult times are all around, however, Meadow House does not fall short in it's care.

I am super impressed by the friendliness of all the staff in the home. They work and treat themselves and their residents as family. They all seem to work above and beyond to achieve a safe, secure and happy home. The residents always greet me with a smile, hello or wave. My own family are delighted
with the standards set which gives us comfort knowing that the residents are safe, comfortable and happy. Please give the home sufficient funds to renovate the car park.

I went here for a week's respite. First time I have been in a care home. Well, what can I say. I can not praise this home enough. 5 stars and above on everything. The care I received was above and beyond perfection. The dedication and commitment from every member of staff were magnificent I could have
not asked for more. The food was 5-star. Every meal was cooked and presented perfectly, which was what you would expect In a 5-star hotel. The housekeeping and cleaning staff worked so hard and everything was spot on. The carers made me so comfortable I felt part of the family they could not do enough for me you felt like a friend rather than just a resident passing through. Made me so happy as I was quite worried about going for respite, but your care and dedication to me meant so much. Head office should feel proud and honoured by what the team at Meadow House have achieved. Thank you to the handyman who also went out of his way to help. I thank you all. I will return.

The care provided for my daughter is exceptional in every assistance she receives. She has been a resident for over 13 years and the whole staff knows how to handle her very complex moods. We are so grateful that she is so well looked after as we then have less to worry about. I can't praise them enough,

Great place.
Great staff, residents cared for really well.
Clean and the food is really good.
All staff are very committed to making sure that all resident's individual needs are met.

As always I have no complaints at all. The staff have looked after my son exceptionally well. Even when I'm not able to visit they always keep me informed about his welfare, it's a great relief for me not to have to worry about him. As I've said many times before Meadow House should be the benchmark
for every type of care home, with an emphasis on home because it is. All of the staff deserve medals.

My aunt had the very good fortune to spend the last few years of her life at Meadow House. She was treated with the greatest level of care, respect, affection and dignity by all the team there from the moment she arrived right up to the point that she died last October in her room. Living in Meadow
House, she had the benefit of having family members living nearby, of course, we couldn't always be with her, but we soon realised that she had a new sort of family unit all around her of the numerous staff and the other residents. Those last few years were the best, happiest and healthiest times I had witnessed of her life since the death of her partner. I give thanks for those years, and on her behalf to the lovely people who live and work at Meadow House.
