Meadow House offers dedicated care for people with a physical disability, specialising in care for people with multiple sclerosis. This purpose built, single storey Home opened in 1989 and has built up an enviable reputation in both the local and wider community for its high quality care. It has been sympathetically designed to offer a range of single rooms, a welcoming reception area, large lounges, dining room and a separate Activities Centre, all of which are available for residents and their guests to enjoy. Although rooms are fully furnished, they encourage residents to bring their own items of furniture and personal effects to complement those provided.

Meadow House is situated on the outskirts of the pretty market town of Swaffham, near to a range of shops and amenities. To ensure that residents continue to have an active social life, regular trips are organised in the minibus to the local shops, theatre, etc. If you simply wish for peace and tranquillity, well maintained gardens with raised flower beds surround the Home, allowing you to enjoy a haven from the bustle of the town.

Care staff, who usually do not wear a uniform, are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their nursing skills but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. They are on hand around the clock to provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual. Of course, a qualified physiotherapist is on hand for specialist help.

Care workers regularly assess each resident so that they can be sure their needs are met and supply specialised equipment if required. An optician, dentist, hairdresser and chiropodist visit by appointment providing all the usual services including manicures and hand massages. Catering staff provides delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, as well as special dishes for those with particular dietary requirements.

The staff are always very friendly and helpful. All extremely caring and nothing is too much trouble. Lots of organised events, quiz's, bingo and trips. The residents are always happy and have only good things to say about being here.

Went to Meadow House for a Monday visit to see my friend, I always commend the home as it is always clean, friendly and very professional state throughout. We also took part in a quiz in the afternoon, it was great to see what the residents knew knowledge wise and great to see them in a relaxed environment,
this was conducted in an excellent way. We always come away from there thinking what a great place.

I cannot thank this amazing home enough. My daughter comes here for respite while I went on holiday, the staff went above and beyond. Outstanding doesn't come close - this care home has the most amazing caring staff I have ever come across. Nothing is ever too much trouble for any member of staff here,
and for that, I can't thank this wonderful home and the amazing staff enough.

I have recently been into hospital and I have missed the home (my home) and the staff from Meadow House.
Whilst I was in the hospital I was visited by some of the staff and I feel this is my family and missed it so much.
I am back at Meadow House, the home where I belong and want to stay.

My husband is a resident at Meadow House after he suffered a major brain injury. All the staff here are very good with him. He receives physiotherapy support and after 5 months of him being here, he has improved. My husband is happy and is well looked after and I am always made welcome here. The staff
help us with translation as well.

In my experience, this home is unwelcoming and unfriendly. There is no-one to greet you at the door and visitors are often unsure where to go. The office door is usually closed and you feel you cannot enter. The manager is unapproachable and I have felt uncomfortable sharing personal information with
the admin staff. Staff around the building stare at you rather than help or acknowledge you. Although clean, the home increasingly smells of urine.
In the last few months, the home has started to resemble an old people's home in both decor and activities provided.

I think the facilities at Meadow House are excellent.
The staff are all very nice and friendly, I cannot complain in any way about them.
They are very attentive and always willing to help.
The cleanliness of the whole place is first class.
I think the activities are okay but would like to see more
trips out.
This would stop people feeling so isolated.
All in all, I would say Meadow House is a very happy place to live and I personally have no complaint.
I would recommend the home to anyone.

My wife was recently rushed into hospital with a UTI. I was away at the time and had to rely on family members to travel 50 miles to attend the hopsital at gone midnight. By the time they arrived, two members of staff from Meadow House had already arrived and were assisting in making my wife comfortable.
Clearly well beyond their working hours.


The report I got back was that without their devotion my wife could not have survived the night. They continue that care now my wife is back at Meadow House. I am eternally grateful to them both.

Meadow House is my home, I feel very welcome here and safe. I can have everything that I want and one day with the support that I've been given by the staff I would walk out and come back to visit my friends that I've made in my time here.
Great activities, excellent physiotherapy, lovely staff,
nice residents.
The manager is one of the nicest people that I ever meet.
Trips out are great fun and the home activities are excellent!
