The care home has an outstanding team of highly skilled and passionate support staff equipped to support people living with different types of dementia including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia and Korsakoff’s syndrome, on a permanent and short stay basis. Specialist dementia training allows the team to create a welcoming and inclusive setting as well as designing meaningful activities for residents to take part in.

I have always found my husband to have been treated with dignity. Staff also knew my husband's history and interacted with him. I was also always kept informed of my husband's condition and was kept in the loop regarding his care. I too have always been treated with friendliness and care when I visit.

I thought the atmosphere in the care home had improved considerably from my last visit in February. It felt less turbulent, quieter and happier. I can't praise your staff more highly for the respectful and cheerful way they deal with the patients.

I would recommend this care home to everyone. They respect the residents and nothing is too much trouble for anyone.


Beautiful, clean, the food is terrific and everyone is well fed, well taken care of and they get entertained. It is a happy home.

My husband was here for two years, he was treated with care and respect. The carers were excellent.
He was very difficult at times but he was managed well during this period.

Brilliant staff who couldn't do enough for residents, also seen staff busy and interacting and keeping residents busy and happy. I honestly think Oak Manor is very good and have already recommended this care home to friends whose families are now being looked after. A lovely caring place for a family
member who needs care.

My husband is cared for very well by the care staff at the home. His illnesses and disabilities are catered for.
The home is badly decorated. His room is in a bad state of repair. The maintenance service leaves a lot to be desired.
I have had to write letters to get the lavatory repaired.
The blind
in the room is broken and temporarily mended but never replaced so impacting on my husband's privacy.
There are other repairs to the room that are needed but these are never done.
For this, it is a poor service.

After a disastrous stay at another place, my mother was moved to Oak Manor Nursing Home with trepidation. However, in only a few weeks there she is being looked after properly and her moment's of Alzheimer's anxiety have disappeared. My thanks to the manager and all the staff working there.

Our first visit to see dad was a good experience for my 2 young children and I. Dad was feeding himself, well monitored, clean and in a communal room with appropriate music for the age of the residents and kind, helpful staff. Dad took us for a tour and I shaved him as he had quite a beard but I understand
he had been difficult about being shaved. The kids were given ice-cream and although some residents worried them, the majority were ok. Dad was happy when we left and we enjoyed our visit and didn't feel sad leaving him there even though it wasn't home. Gardens and rooms would benefit attention.

Care in this home has deteriorated significantly. Fabric of building is also in need of repair. Roof in main lounge has been leaking for over 6 weeks. No progress. Have asked for complaints form and told "we don't have any".

Job Title: Home Manager

I have always wanted to work in care, it is my passion and I feel extremely fortunate to be the home manager at Oak Manor.


I began my career in care by volunteering at a nursing home and I loved every second of care home life. As I became a senior carer, I decided I would fulfil my dream of becoming a nurse, studying adult nursing and gaining a first-class degree. As a qualified nurse, I drive the highest standards of person-centred care. Although I love being a nurse, I also love being a manager, with the ability to influence positive change which I get great satisfaction from.


Getting to know the people we care for, seeing them happy and improving their lives holistically is one of my greatest motivations. Our residents must always be the centre of all we do.


When residents choose to make Oak Manor their home, every day will remain just as they like it, with careful notes taken of their preferences, from waking times to food choices, hobbies and interests.


We are here for you and your loved ones every step of the way to help and will do all we can to put our residents and their families at ease. The most important thing is that they are happy.
