Since our mother has joined you guys she has come on leaps and bounds and is very happy now. I can't thank you all enough for the care you are giving her in the next stage of her life. She has expressed to myself and my brother how she doesn't want to be anywhere else.

Since the first day I was here, I have been treated with great care and kindness. I have a lovely room with a bathroom with everything I need close to hand. In Short, I am very happy to spend my days in this lovely home.

I would thoroughly recommend Oakwood House Care Home, it is clean and the staff and management are friendly and helpful. I know my mother is being well looked after and she is adjusting slowly but surely after 3 months in hospital, she is clean well-fed, and I am happy with the care provided.
I would
not hesitate to say this is a top-notch care home and I have not met an unkind member of staff, they do a wonderful job and their standards are very high ten out of ten and I sincerely mean this. Thank you.

My 97-year-old mother was at another facility local to Oakwood House Care Home. I wish she had never set foot in there. Oakwood House Care Home have demonstrated to me what excellent care can and should be. She wants for nothing, all her needs are met by an excellent team her keyworker, and the Senior.
There is a nice atmosphere in the home, where a contented work force well lead by the manager, promotes the well being of every resident. Do not hesitate, if you need care for a loved one to come to Oakwood house.

My family and I would like to say a heartfelt thanks to every member of staff who looked after our beloved husband and dad with the kindest of gentle care that made his last week as comfortable as he could be. The room he was in was nicely furnished with a lovely view of tress out of the window from
his bed. The grounds are such a bonus to have to sit in and walk around.

Mum was admitted for palliative care in October 2020 and Dad joined her to be together. It was a tough time due to Covid and visiting restrictions. Staff were so helpful and accommodating in helping them both settle into a completely new environment. Very polite, friendly and patient staff. My parents
and our family were always treated in a professional and courteous manner. Also helpful in providing video calls to maintain contact and Covid friendly visits.

My mum was admitted to Oakwood House direct from the local hospital. I had no previous knowledge of the care home system nor Oakwood House. From the minute my mum arrived by ambulance and was given her room, I could not have been more delighted. The care, compassion and kind attention shown to my mum
by all of the staff was amazing. I never thought in a million years that my mum would be in a nursing home, but her care needs became too great for the family. She sadly passed away just under three weeks later. Up to and including that day, right to the point when we left, everyone was really lovely. Mum did not get to use the facilities provided, but they look really good. Beautifully attended gardens, dining rooms and I understand recreational facilities are available. One of the things my mum desperately wanted was her hair washed and cut. She was delighted when a lovely lady came to her room and did that for her, it made a lot of difference. Thank you for looking after her.

My family and myself are all in agreement that the care and attention given to my husband by the staff has been extremely good. They are dedicated and full of love which shows when they attend my husband. They even put a bird feeder in the garden by his window, so he has something interesting to look
at.
The food is wholesome, good and beautifully cooked. I have had Sunday lunch there on more than one occasion. I would not hesitate to recommend Oakwood House.

Impressive level of end of life care to my dad and appreciated the level of kindness shown to us as a family. No one wants to have to use these services but thank goodness they exist to this standard. We are confident we could not have achieved this level of care at home, whilst appreciating that for
some people being at home is the right place to be. Thanks to the Palliative Care Team at the Norfolk and Norwich for accessing Oakwood House for dad and to the staff therein.

3 weeks stay for rest and recuperation following hip replacement operation. Beautiful room overlooking the garden. Despite limited mobility, carefully planned en-suite wet room enabled me to shower myself from start. Wonderful staff - everyone so supportive and friendly who gave me the confidence to
make really good process.

Emma Hopkins

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2022

With 10 years experience of in successfully managing a local care home, Emma brings a new approach to management at Oakwood House. With a focus on utilising innovative technology and empowering staff to deliver, the aim is to create a more streamlined home environment. This approach will mean that Emma is freed from daily tasks so that the focus can be put on improving the quality of care that we provide. Emma’s experience in collaborating with the local multi-disciplinary teams to ensure residents receive the best personal-centred care will be of great benefit to Oakwood House.


A caring and compassionate, organized, and supportive person Emma is a hands-on manager who creates a homely atmosphere for both staff and residents alike. Her door is always open for discussion and feedback.
