The Paddocks is located in the centre of Swaffham, a beautiful and tranquil Norfolk town with plenty of shops and cafes as well as a weekly market. Swaffham is situated 12 miles east of Kings Lynn and 31 miles west of Norwich, which makes it a great base to explore Norfolk including the North Norfolk Coast and The Norfolk Broads.

The home offers the flexibility of respite care for short breaks and permanent care for those who can no longer live at home. There is a separate purpose-built unit specialising in the care of residents who have dementia type illnesses in addition to support those residents with residential needs.

The independence and privacy of residents is respected and the home maintains a popular programme of events and activities to help all residents achieve an enjoyable daily lifestyle.

My mother has been a resident at the above home for nearly three weeks, during which time she has been looked after excellently. I have spoken to several staff and all have been polite and very caring in the way they look after my mother. All the staff are very cheerful and smart in their appearance
too. What I have seen of the food served looks very appetising. All rooms look clean and staff answer the buzzer very quickly when pressed.
I have spoken to the office staff and management who were very helpful and know the answers to everything I asked well done.

My mum has spent four years at The Paddocks Care Home although her dementia took its toll she was always happy there. Myself, sister and brothers have really appreciated the care, kindness and thoughtfulness from the staff, some of which went out of their way to make sure our mum was happy.
Sadly since
she passed away recently and has left a huge gap in our lives, as you might expect because we loved her dearly. The Paddocks staff deserve a medal for all their amazing care and kindness to all of the residents I can't express how very grateful we are to all of them.

Mum moved from respite into her new home at The Paddocks in the middle of April. She had her own room with a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a comfy chair. She had her own toilet and wash basin and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Her window looked out on the gardens which was paved for ease
of wheelchair use. My husband and I had high hopes for her to sit out in her wheelchair with the sun on her face listening to the birds tweeting which she hadn’t been able to do for some time as she was housebound. Unfortunately, this never happened. She was not in a very good place when she arrived and despite endless amounts of love and care from all the staff who looked after her, she sadly passed away a mere 6 weeks after her arrival. The support we received from all the staff in the home was amazing, they even attended her church service which was much appreciated by her very small family. Would not hesitate to recommend this lovely home from home.

I can't thank the staff and management enough as they helped us all the time and made us welcome to go in anytime we wanted.
They looked after our friend and gave her lots of love and care.
We had a little tea party two weeks ago with our friend and had a lovely afternoon.
Nothing was too much for
the staff who looked after her.

Anything I wanted, they would do their best to get it. The food was great, just like being at home.

My mother had excellent care whilst here she arrived not able to walk on her own not eating. She can now walk with a frame and eating a lot better she has been out in the mini bus which she enjoyed taken part in making valentine biscuits she is 100% better than when she arrived. The staff have looked
after well. The are very friendly and caring. Her family say a big thank you for looking after her.

After a very serious operation I came to The Paddocks for three weeks recuperation. I have regained strength through the love and care this home has given me. I have found staff feels like family that cares not only for us but for each other. I would if I ever had to, be happy to stay again without
fear. I have been treated with respect and nothing has been too much for them to meed my needs even though they work very hard indeed. From cleaner, dishwasher, chef and nursing staff each has met me with a cheerful smile and I am grateful to all of them.

At first when I came here I felt very frightened but the more I got to know the staff and areas I felt more like at home. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble from any of the department. I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone who would need a little rest or become permanent resident.
I love all the staff very much and I had had great company with other residents.

Nick Secker

Job Title: Registered Home Manager

I have worked in health and social care almost all of my life, starting as a carer when I was 21. Over the last 30 years, I have worked in operational management roles in care settings including care homes as a care home manager. Whatever my job title, I still consider myself a carer at heart. My family roots are in Norfolk and I am so excited to have the opportunity to lead the team at The Paddocks in developing an outstanding experience for everyone living, visiting and working at the Home. I strongly believe the success of the Home is down to effective collaboration and I look forward to working in effective partnership with all of our stakeholders.
