Sanford House is located in a quiet residential area of Dereham, providing the highest standard of nursing and nursing dementia care for up to 40 elderly people on a short and long term basis.

As the home is built on one level it is ideal for those with mobility problems, being both safe and accessible. All rooms and services are laid out over the ground floor and the home is arranged in a quadrangle around an attractive courtyard garden. Many rooms feature patio doors accessing into the courtyard area.

Sanford House is part of Caring Homes, an established, family-run care company. Every team member receives their unique ‘Living in My World’ dementia training which is accredited by City and Guilds. It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, as well as addressing clinical aspects of care.

the staff at Sanford House provided excellent care for my grandmother whilst in their care from August 2017 through to her passing on November 6th 2017. The staff were professional and very caring in dealing with my grandmother. When the appropriate time came both my sister and I were kept fully updated
and discussed end of life care for my grandmother. This was dealt with in a sensitive and caring manner. The surroundings are pleasant and rooms provided are of a good standard. However, most importantly it is the staff that make the place and that is important for both residents and the relatives.

My visits to see mum are met with friendly and welcoming staff, I always find that any questions I have are answered and information and updates on mum are forthcoming. I have every faith and trust that my mum is being well cared for and looked after as well as can be expected with respect and dignity.

My mother spent the last 6 months of her life at Sanford House Nursing Home, passing recently. We cannot praise the staff highly enough, they all have hearts of gold and treated my mother with care, compassion and dignity at all times. My brother and I spent the last week at her bedside and they were
kind and caring towards us too. Seeing mum then and her interaction with staff, we realised that they had become like a family to her. We were apprehensive when we went in having heard horror stories about care homes, but we were so pleased that she ended up there. Should the need arise, I would be more than happy to place my elderly father there.

My wife was a resident for the past 6 months at Sanford House Nursing Home. I spent every afternoon in the company of staff and patients and was pleased with the welcome I always received. The care given to my wife was all I could have wished for and I know that my wife appreciated all the help that

My mother reluctantly had to go into a nursing home 15 months ago. During her time the care sh received was outstanding from all members of staff, showing care and compassion at all times. In my mother's final three weeks of her life the family decided to stay by her bedside day and night, not only
did my mother receive care but the staff went out of their way to ensure that we were also cared for, supplying us with food, drinks and bedding, showing the same compassion for us as our mother.

My wife came into Sanford House Nursing Home in September 2014 with a one-to-one care. At first, some of the care was provided by agency staff but since using the homes own staff, the care is excellent. This gives a much better quality of care as the carer knows the resident's needs. I am very grateful
for the care she receives.

I am always impressed by the warm welcome by all the staff every time I visit the home. The care and attention given to each resident is very noticeable. The staff can't do enough for them and you can tell they enjoy their work. The home is decorated with Christmas decorations the residents would have
been used to. It looks comfy, warm, festive and homely for the residents. The Sanford whole team look after and take care of my mum and all the residents really well. I'm very grateful to them all. I have peace of mind and are completely satisfied, thanks to them all.

Absolutely happy with the care my Aunt receives. The staff are efficient and go out of their way to assist the residents and their families;/friends. Sanford House has a welcoming and warm ambience and feels very homely. It certainly is not a sad place but is a bustling busy home which makes a real
effort to keep spirits up. I would happily recommend Sandford House.

My mother came into this residential home after Easter this year and she has been welcomed into an efficient, caring and friendly well-managed home. She settled in really well because people who work here were so professional and kind. We felt safe and secure with good communication and effective medical
care as well as confident in their facilities and approach. The food is particularly excellent and the atmosphere is full of warmth and generosity of spirit.

I have been very impressed with the home. The staff are very caring and get to know the residents very well, for example, my mam likes singing old songs and to cheer her up the staff will sing the songs for her.
Mam has even said that she is very happy at the home.
The activities are great and mam
particularly enjoys when the performer sings.

My Mother has been in this care home since 3rd October 2016. She is being well looked after and I cannot fault the staff, nurses and management in any way.

We walk into a happy and relaxed atmosphere! The care, support, and concern for the well-being and happiness - also the medical necessities, of the residents, is excellent and of paramount importance to all the staff.
Superb standard of catering wth varied meal choices, listening to residents preferences.
Wonderful
support and help to family and friends and what is sometimes a very difficult time. Planned activities are wide-ranging and focused on the wants and needs of the residents, making them enjoyable for all.

Since moving to Sanford House my Husband has settled beyond my expectations which is totally down to the wonderful Management and Staff. They treat all residents with Dignity/Respect and lots of TLC. Maebh McCormack-Hall

Job Title: Home Manager

As the Home Manager I believe our residents are our priority, and we are privileged that they choose to be in our homes and care and trust us to support their needs.


I completed my Nursing Degree at Trinity College Dublin in 2010 and moved to the UK in 2011. Since becoming a Registered Nurse, I have worked in a variety of roles within the care sector for over 13 years. I have worked with adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems in secure services for over 4 years and then moved on to Dementia and Nursing Home Care. I progressed to a clinical lead role and then onto the part of Home Manager. I also supported homes across Norfolk and Suffolk as an Operations Manager.


Working across various settings has supported my clinical and management skills development.


I operate an open-door policy and am approachable, not only to my team but to the residents and their relatives too. I encourage person-centred care and reflect this in how the staff team works and delivers their care.


I am passionate about putting residents first as we are given the opportunity to work in their homes and care for and support their needs.


I enjoy training developing and mentoring my team members to grow and develop in their roles at home and within the company.


In my spare time, I love to spend time with family and friends. I enjoy reading, running, and watching rugby. I also enjoy travelling when possible visiting different cities and countries and experiencing different cultures.
