My late mother had been in the Two Acres Care Home for several months. She and I found the staff were truly dedicated, incredibly skilled, professional, very friendly, wonderful people. The food was excellent too. We had no problems what-so-ever. The staff also have good IT skills and were able to help
getting the speaker I supplied, working so I could talk to and see my mother every evening. They would keep me up-to-date on how she had been doing each day, and on any health concerns were ready and willing to call a doctor or paramedic team out. She was very lucky to have been in this fantastic care home. I'm sure, given the opportunity, that they could teach some other care homes and hospitals a thing or two about patient care and dignity.

Two Acres have been absolutely superb in caring for my mum, who is 91, bed-bound and has advanced Alzheimer's disease. The most outstanding factor is the quality of care, i.e - all the staff (and I have got to know them well over the past 16 months) are extremely kind, caring, patient, helpful and compassionate.
The food is very good (my mum wouldn't like it so much if it wasn't). The office is very efficient and helpful and the medical care/liaison with local GP/nurses is very good. I am so glad Two Acres was able to offer a place for Mum.

My late mum spent the last few months here following a fall at home and having dementia. The care she received was excellent. She was kept clean and tidy, routinely monitored and her medical needs were well-tended. Holistically, all residents were catered for with great dignity and respect. The kindness
and thoughtfulness to the residents was wonderful to see and Mum was certainly happy, even we, her family, received the same kindness as the residents in Mum's last days and during her stay.

Mother-in-law had her last few months in Two Acres nursing home. After being in two other homes previously, the attention and care Two Acres was much better and very good. Regular attention was paid to her with suitable meals and the medication she needed. She found it to be a happy atmosphere, and
the staff looked in so often asking if she was ok or needed anything. The charge nurses on the unit were very efficient in controlling the other staff, and all were very friendly and polite. All would say hello when we visited.
The unit was very clean and did not have that smell that many homes have.
As mother-in-law's condition deteriorated more attention was paid to her and a staff member was always with her.
My wife and I cannot fault Two Acres in any way whatsoever and highly recommend this well run nursing home.

Amazing care. The place has a homely feel. Staff are wonderful and caring. All the staff at Two Acres nursing home are very caring and go that extra step to make sure residents are happy and safe. The whole environment of the home is friendly and the professionalism, particularly in relation to my friend’s
needs for his dementia, is outstanding. It is easy to talk to staff about him and his needs and they are very responsive to requests and ideas to make him even more comfortable. This means visits to the care home are a pleasure.

Rose Unit: My nana lived at Two Acres for nearly 2 and a half years, the care, support and love she received from the staff made us feel so supported with the condition she had. She was very well looked after and everyone was so friendly when we visited.
She was treated with dignity and compassion
and the care staff knew her for the wonderful person she was even though she was unable to communicate with them.
She was bed bound but staff always made sure they had time for her and she always had her music on which she always enjoyed.
We are so pleased she was able to return back to Two Acres after a short hospital stay to pass away in her own bedroom, with her music and the wonderful staff who have looked after her to a very high standard. As a family, we can not recommend the care home enough for all the love and support she/we have received, a simple thank you just doesn't seem enough.

Current Review Score: 8.0 (8.043)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.0 (8.043) out of 10 for Two Acres is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.0 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Two Acres is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.043 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Two Acres is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 115 registered maximum number of service users is 23. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 23 = 0.043

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
