Set in over 3 acres of well-kept lawns and gardens in a small hamlet adjoining the market town of Diss, Walcott Hall provides exemplary nursing, palliative and respite care for up to 42 residents.

Walcot Hall provides compassionate, person-centred care in a safe and friendly environment that exceeds expectations through the investment and support of a strong competent and skilled workforce, which ensures quality care and seeks to value and respect the uniqueness of residents and their families. The home offers a selection of carefully designed and furnished single and double rooms, the latter suitable for couples. All rooms are equipped with a 24 hour nurse call system, television, Wi-Fi and telephone point.

The meal experience is excellent, with the chef and catering team working hard to create meals that are both nutritious and tasty, using fresh seasonal ingredients. Residents can experience restaurant-style dining in the home's dining rooms, overlooking the beautiful countryside.

Rooms at Walcott Hall are arranged over two floors overlooking the lake, garden and surrounding countryside. The extensive grounds have lawns, flower beds, paths and patio areas to be enjoyed. A small gazebo and a larger summer house provide sheltered, comfortable resting points when enjoying a walk around the gardens. The home also features a garden-based cabin, equipped with two entrance points, protective Perspex screens, intercom system, heating/insulation, and a nurse call button. This facility allows them to provide greater capacity for visits by friends and relatives when they are not able to meet visiting needs within the home. Strict infection control procedures are maintained to keep all residents, staff and visitors safe.

There always seems to be a very calm atmosphere. Often when I visit there is an activity going on. Staff seem to be very kind and considerate of the residents and act in a very professional but friendly way.

My Father has been at Walcot Hall for 6 months and has had excellent care. There are always members of staff available to see to him and if we have any questions. The cleanliness and the security is first class. All the staff treat Dad well and have respect for him.

Our elderly and very frail friend has now been a resident at Walcot Hall for approaching a month and we have visited him on several occasions, and each time have been overwhelmed with the welcome shown to both my husband and myself and even our dog! Every member of staff seems so committed and focused
on providing care, compassion and time with the residents - nothing appears to be too much trouble. Happy staff, happy residents, all provided in a calm and spotlessly clean environment.

Very pleased with Dad's care. Lovely to have cheerful and helpful staff. A staff member has responded to our suggestion for more variety in Dad's pureed food as we felt he would enjoy sponge in custard etc. She was brilliant. Another two members of staff are very supportive of activities etc. Another
staff member is lovely. I always get offers of help and feel listened to.

We believe that service is compromised by regular staff shortages. This affects our experience through slow response times when calling for assistance. Today (16/10/24) and yesterday (15/10/24), no morning teas/coffees were provided, either in the morning or afternoon. We also believe that toiletries
should be provided e.g. soap, shower gel etc. Overall our experience is satisfactory but it could be improved if these matters were attended to. We like most of the staff and do not like to complain.

With regards to the toiletries, this is standard practice amongst all care home providers due to the variation in specific and personal requirements and choices, however, we do have a minimum stock on site if you do need any item, so please do come and ask - all at a very good rate. We visited our friend in Walcot Hall in September. She was terminally ill but receiving a high level of kindness and good care. On our arrival we were greeted warmly, and as we had to wait a little while, we were offered somewhere comfortable to sit and a cup of tea. She was in a lovely room and said
that she was being well cared for.

I visited my friend who was staying in Walcot Hall Nursing Home for end-of-life care. At all times she was treated with care and compassion by your staff. Her dignity was always respected. When I visited I was always given a warm welcome by the care assistants and nothing was too much trouble.

Mother-in-law was a resident for 15 years - she was always looked after well and we were always welcome. The staff knew her well and tried their best to make her happy in her last few years. She always thought of it as her home.
Marked as 4-star because recent price hikes seemed beyond inflation.

I visited Walcot Hall for the first time - It is an extremely welcoming environment with cheerful staff and residents. The home is beautiful, bright and clean and the grounds are stunning. Throughout my visit I noticed residents in the communal area enjoying themselves alongside staff and families.
The manager is welcoming and very knowledgeable. She showed us around and is obviously extremely proud of the home, her staff and all residents.

There has been a vast improvement in the atmosphere and in the general morale of this home since a new manageress has been in charge. Residents (in the main) do not spend all day in their rooms now but meet together in "The Link" where they socialise together. There are many activities arranged for
the residents with games, visiting animals (domestic) and others like musical events which all contribute to residents wanting fresh mental stimulation. Food is of an excellent standard with many choices. Overall very pleased with my brother's treatment by all staff.

At every stage of my mother's stay in the nursing home our expectations were exceeded. They kept us informed every step of the way, day and night. On her initial admission the nursing staff were very prompt in assessing my mother's condition and realised the need for further hospital assessment.
All
staff, whether kitchen, care, cleaning or admission were welcoming, respect and highly supportive to ourselves as well as my mother. One younger member of the care staff acted with great sensitivity and respect accompanying my mother to the hospital, staying with her until she was admitted overnight, Then she returned home by taxi in the early morning.

My mother moved into Walcot Hall in November 2023, following a long spell in hospital, and has been there ever since. The team at Walcot are like one big, extended, lovely, welcoming family. My mother has been treated with nothing but kindness, dignity and respect and is really settled and happy there.
All the staff are friendly, and only too happy to help. There are lots of activities on offer and not only are they all fully inclusive for all, but welcome family and friends to join in the fun too.
I have heard so many horror stories of other care facilities from friends, but Walcot is the total opposite of this - it is such a warm and welcoming place and I feel completely reassured that my mother is receiving the very best care and support. I also never realised how useful it was to have the nurses available too - they are a team of very experienced professionals who are faster than an Olympic runner in identifying any medical issues that may arise! I cannot recommend Walcot enough.
