Being the sole carer normally of my father Barchester Woodside House Care Home have given me peace of mind and trust that my father would be cared for extremely well during his respite stay. Giving me the much-needed rest to continue to care for him at home. Their communication and level of care are

My father recently moved to Barchester Woodside House Care Home, after 3 weeks in a hospice. The care and warm welcome he received at Woodside has been exceptional. The staff are warm, kind, caring. The facilities, rooms and gardens are of a very high standard. Most importantly my father seems very
happy, enjoying events organised and secure. A great comfort to me and my family. I can't thank you enough. The staff all do a wonderful job and always with a smile.

My mother needed an urgent respite location due to limited mobility, health, and food intake. Woodside were welcoming, friendly, and addressed Mum's care needs to an exceptional standard. After 4 weeks she's walked out with a promise of continued improved progress.

My relative lived at Woodside House for two and a half years and was always full of praise for the high standards he experienced in every aspect of his care. As his next of kin and a regular visitor, that is what I experienced too. The staff in all areas managed to cope with precise professionalism
with respectful and friendly courtesy, there is real warmth in the atmosphere, and it is a home in the very real sense. Certainly, my relative felt 'at home' soon after moving in.

My mother has been in Woodside House since September. The whole experience has been exemplary. The care and concern that every member of staff with whom we have had contact has displayed great attention to the detail of her care and needs. All staff have a good knowledge of her and are interested in,

Since March we have been on lockdown. I could phone any time to see how he was. I have had five visits. Two in reception and three in the garden and most enjoyable. All of the staff have a very professional way with them.

My wife was admitted to the nursing home from hospital with great care and dignity. The deputy manager and all the staff have been extremely helpful and kind at all times through her stay. We could not have wished for better treatment. The manager introduced herself and was very professional in her
position. The food was excellent at all times and the premises have achieved 100% effort for everything "Well Done".

Woodside house has come on in leaps and bounds since the new manager was appointed. The activity team has been supported in getting more entertainers, which makes all residents happy. The staff are really kind and caring towards all residents.

My wife was transferred to Barchester Woodside House Care Home from Norfolk and the hospital on the 20th September 2017 for palliative care and died there on 20th December 2017. I could not have wished for a more kind, considerate and caring place for her to end her days. In my experience, staff from
manageress, nursing staff, kitchen staff down to the cleaners were so helpful. The food was of excellent quality and nicely presented.

We are extremely pleased with the care our elderly cousin is receiving. Although she cannot move very much she always seems to be comfortably placed in her bed with things she needs near at hand.
The staff seem to be very gentle and caring.
Our cousin's room is always tidy and pleasantly fragrant.

My name is Sarah and I am proud to be the General Manager here at Woodside House.


I am an experienced nurse and care home manager, having spent many years with both the NHS and Barchester. I love working for Barchester and leading the team at Woodside House in the care and support of residents to provide first-class service that meets their individual needs. We have a truly lovely home and a fantastic team.


My vision is to create a 'home from home' environment, where residents are actively involved in organising events, making decisions, and planning their care.


Our door is always open to visitors who want to experience our family-friendly atmosphere and I am always ready to speak to anyone who is starting to explore their future care needs.

My name is Amy and I joined Woodside House in 2011 as a Registered General Nurse and now I am the Head of Unit for our Willow and Sycamore communities.


I am responsible for ensuring that all of my residents receive the highest standards of care and are treated with the level of dignity and respect that I would want for my family to receive. We have a very experienced team and several of the staff have been here for many years and are great friends with the residents.


We love welcoming new residents and helping them to join our little community, each new person brings their own personality to the mix and it is wonderful to see everyone making new friends as they settle in.

My name is Kim and I am proud to run the kitchen team here at Woodside House.


I am responsible for providing a top class dining experience and ensuring that the menus reflect the high standards that every resident should enjoy. I am constantly speaking with residents to find out what foods they prefer, the way they like things presented and how I can make every meal a great experience.


Working with the care staff to ensure each resident's unique dietary requirements are met, is just one of the ways that my kitchen team support the health and well-being of our residents. I spend time with each new resident to ensure that my team and I are aware of their preferences and favourites when they first move in to Woodside.

My Name is Nono I have been a Nurse since 2001 originally in my home county of Botswana. I moved to the UK in 2005 and started working in a care home in Dereham. I worked as a Nurse caring for older people before becoming deputy manager in 2012. I moved to Woodside House in February 2023 after hearing of the home's excellent reputation. I have completed my end-of-life enhanced training with the NHS team and I have completed my level 5 Diploma in adult care.


I am now really enjoying the challenge of leading the memory lane community at Woodside House.
