Lound Hall Nursing Home in Lound, Suffolk is an award-winning care home offering long-term and short-term residential and nursing care, palliative/end of life care as well as continuing care for older people.

The home also provides respite and post-operative care with nurses and care staff on site 24 hours a day.

Set in 3 acres of countryside, the nursing home's management believes that the body and the mind are very closely linked and that keeping the body active, even for those who are perhaps less mobile than they once were, can also do wonders for their state of mind.

The home's activities co-ordinator organises events to stimulate both body and mind including live music and dancing, bingo, quizzes, card games, arts and crafts, day trips out, reminiscence therapy, aerobic exercise to music and visits from local religious figures.

Residents can also enjoy physiotherapy, occupation and speech therapy, podiatry, aromatherapy, reflexology, hairdressers, beautician and library services.

Very pleased with how well things have been managed during this pandemic.
Staff have been exceptional, couldn't ask for more. Always helpful. A credit to Lound Hall. The home is spotless.

My mother has recently moved into Lound at the start of this month. She has settled in very quickly and having her closer is a comfort to me. She’s always happy when I visit and told me about the party she just attended. All the staff are very attentive to her needs and I now know she is safe and I
don’t have to worry, as she’s not on her own anymore or a long distance away. Her room has her pictures up already and she tells me how the lovely girls make her bed nicely. The carers always check on her and drinks are always offered whenever I’m there. She says there’s so much food I can’t eat it all but I give it a good go. Thank you to all of you after a long nine months of worry that we can now enjoy quality times together.

Lound is a brilliant location in a very elegant setting and I have never detected a suggestion of an institutional atmosphere. The staff are friendly and effortlessly professional. It is a pleasure to visit Lound. I am always made to feel welcome either when I visit or ring up. My brother is in good
place and seems to have been sheltered from the first rounds of COVID.

My mum has been so well cared for. The carers are very considerate and hard working. All the staff are kind and friendly, Mum loves everyone at Lound Hall and they love her. It gives me peace of mind and they have reassured me during Mum's time at Lound Hall. She is happy and as content as possible.
I am so glad we moved Mum in well before lockdown.

When my friend, who is like a mum to me, became a resident she was not happy and unsettled but after a while, with the love and care she got from all the carers, she changed to a happy and very grateful person. She tells me she's in a lovely place full of love, which I have felt myself whenever I visit.

Staff are extremely attentive and kind, the entertainment activities are particularly good with every effort made to keep the residents engaged. The decor is becoming a little tired in places but it is the care, quality of life, attention and dignity given to the residents that is important and in my

My mum was in Lound Hall for over four years. During that time, the staff cared for and looked after her as her dementia worsened. I cannot fault the way they cared for her; Mum loved being there, and it was home to her. They treated her like family and not a resident. The room she was in looked outside,
and everyone waved to her when they came in, acknowledging she was there. The grounds are lovely, and the staff make sure everyone can go outside in the nice weather. I can’t fault it.

Although my sister was only resident for ten days for end of life care, I could not have been happier about the care she received. The staff were friendly, responsive and thoughtful and treated my sister with enormous dignity and consideration - nothing was too much trouble. As relatives, we were also
shown great courtesy and kindness, and I am so grateful my sister's last days were spent in the care of Lound Hall.

Upon arrival to view the care home for my Dad, I was greeted by a friendly, welcoming manager who was both caring and informative. Dad was apprehensive about going there, but he needn't have been, because all staff were and continue to be amazing in all aspects of his care.

We have found Lound Hall to be a warm and inviting environment where my mother has been encouraged and supported to flourish and blossom in her surroundings. After just a few months, my mother is more confident and happier than she has been in a long time. She is looked after by warm, friendly, polite,
attentive and understanding staff where nothing is too much trouble for them. They always want to accommodate, listen and improve. A very big thank you to everyone at Lound Hall.

My husband has been a resident of Lound Hall since 2014 and the place has improved so much since he first arrived. The staff are brilliant and very friendly and the food is excellent. As Lound Hall is in the country there is a lot of wildlife to see. You can go to any member of management with a query
or worry and it will be dealt with. A very warm and welcome environment.

When I had to put my husband in a home we chose this one in Lound KRG Healthcare. At first thought it was okay but then it started to go downhill. Then I thought about moving him. I did look at one or two but it started to improve. He has been in two years. He broke his hip the first year after falling
down. He had a spell in hospital, now he is good. Home is improving. I would recommend it.

Standards at Lound Hall have always been satisfactory but are now excellent.
It is always hard to hand over a loved one into permanent care but the staff and general environment made this much easier. Mum has been happy at Lound Hall for 18 months and is in fact now much happier and healthier than
she was at home.

Siobhan

Siobhan Fennell

Job Title: Registered Home Manager

Joined: 2025

Siobhan joined Lound Hall in February 2025 as the Home Manager.
Siobhan began her healthcare journey as a nurse, working in A&E and Intensive Care. In 2017, Siobhan transitioned to the community healthcare sector, specializing in the rehabilitation of patients with acquired brain injuries and strokes.
Most recently Siobhan has been working as a General Manager in the care sector and has aided in raising the standards of three services rated inadequate and requires improvement to achieve a "Good" rating with the CQC.

Julia Hunt

Job Title: Senior Nurse and Development Lead

Joined: 2020

Julia Hunt joined Lound Hall in 2020 after an illustrious career in the NHS which culminated in Julia becoming an MBE holder for her services to the nursing profession. As a former Director of Nursing, Julia ensures the highest standard of nursing is conducted at Lound Hall and plays an integral part in the Management Team.

Erica came to the UK from Portugal in 2012 after completing her nursing degree. Erica worked in London for 7 years, gaining experience in dementia and palliative care, before joining Lound Hall in 2023. Erica's conscientious and dedicated nature adds structure and support to the nursing team.

Charlotte joined to Lound Hall in 2023, having previously worked as the Administrator at a casino and as the Manager of a restaurant. Charlotte manages the office providing administrative support to the home and is the first point of contact for residents and their families.

Stephen joined Lound Hall as the Head Chef in February 2025. Stephen brings a wealth of experience having worked in restaurants around the area over the last 25 years. Stephen will be leading the kitchen team to provide balanced, nutritious meals using ingredients from locally sourced suppliers and fresh baked cakes for the afternoon tea trolley.

Ryan is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Lound Hall and its substantial grounds. Lound Hall is a Grade II listed building, meaning that Ryan is always extremely busy.

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping

Joined: 2017

Ruth leads the team of Housekeepers, who all work hard to ensure that the home is clean and fresh - visitors always compliment the cleanliness of the home! The Housekeeping Team won the Shining Stars Award in 2023 in recognition of all their hard work.
