Mill Lane Nursing Home is located in Felixstowe's Old Town and is convenient for local amenities and shops. The home provides regular trips for residents in the home's minibus to the local theatre, on shopping trips or to benefit from the fresh sea air of the nearby coastline. Peace and tranquillity are also on offer in the well maintained gardens that surround the Home - a perfect haven from the bustle of the town.

The home, once a local doctor's surgery, has been sympathetically extended and now provides a selection of welcoming reception rooms with attractive patio areas. Mill Lane offers specialised nursing care for the elderly and has an enviable reputation in the local community for its high quality care. Bedrooms are fully furnished, however, residents are encouraged to to bring with them items of furniture and personal effects to complement those already provided so that their room can become an individual retreat.

Care staff are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their skills but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. Staff are constantly available and provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual.

Residents are regularly assessed to ensure their needs are met. Appointments can be arranged with a visiting optician, dentist, and chiropodist. Mill Lane has an in-house hairdressing salon that provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages. Catering staff provide delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, with special diets being catered for.

A dedicated Activities Co-ordinator is available for residents and can arrange for them to take part in as many or as few activities as they wish.

Family and friends are always welcome at Mill Lane and they value their involvement in residents' care. Above all, they promote individual choice in a caring environment that is free from stress or worry.

The home is friendly and welcoming. Staff are kind and helpful. My father-in-law is well looked after and likes the staff. My two concerns are - bells are always ringing, patients are high need and staff are thin on the ground and rushed off their feet. (Not enough staff)
My second concern is the carpet
which is smelly and stained. I wish I could clean or replace it.

My father was with you for only a week before passing away. However, your manager was both efficient and professional in organising transfer from hospital and arranging appropriate care once he had arrived.
Both nursing home and staff were well organised, kind and it felt more like a retreat than a
care home. The manager and staff deserve much credit.

Although my friend was only at the home for a few months; throughout the time, the care and the nursing was excellent. After day surgery, my friend needed regular nursing and then recently when my friend became very frail, the excellent care, with dignity, continued until her passing away on the 12th
March.

Mother is being looked after well. She is clean with clean clothes. She loves her room which is clean and very nice. She likes her food and she is eating well. She is joining in the activities and is happy living there.

My mother has been a resident since May 2016 and in that time, her dementia has worsened and she is now bedridden.
The personal care she receives is very good.
Management and staff are always friendly and approachable.
I'm happy my mother is well taken care of.

Until my Mum's passing on the 14th December, she had resided at Mill Lane for 2 years 5 months. During that time she was well loved, cared for and supported with dignity and respect by the wonderful staff team. Mum's health had deteriorated during the last few months of her life so she preferred to
spend a lot more time in her room. Until then she had enjoyed some of the entertainment programmes especially singing and the monthly Church service. Mum managed a fish and chip lunch in April at the hut, it was so lovely that I was able to go too to assist her with lunch and was invited to have lunch with everyone too. Mill Lane has the real feel of "home". The Manager and all the staff team do a superb job and I would thoroughly recommend the home to others in the future.

My mum has lived at Mill Lane for the past 4 years. She was always very happy there. Due to her dementia, she did not always understand certain social activities but was always involved. During August/September Mum became very poorly and the care she received was exceptional, she was treated with the

My mother is bedridden with mid-range dementia and has been in the home for three years.
We have always found the staff to be very dedicated, cheerful and caring. They are always under their pressure but still provide a high level of care. There have been a number of staff changes, including management,
which has sometimes affected the standard of care. But overall we and more importantly my mother, all feel happy with how she is looked after.

I can't thank the staff enough for the way they have accepted and welcomed him into Mill Lane. The atmosphere there is amazing. Every member of staff we have met have been wonderful to myself and family. The place is spotlessly clean and the food is excellent and care is brilliant. I haven't found it
easy to release my husband of 60 years into care but I am so pleased he is at Mill Lane.

It's early days, sister has only been resident for 10 days.
When looking for nursing care, the welcome was friendly and open. We were immediately aware that the home was clean, rooms were clean, bright and a good size. Staff we met were friendly and jolly, showing interest in us and our needs. Within
24hours, nurse, doctor and district nurse had visited and a care plan arranged.
Management were/are open, informative and accommodating when discussing our needs and circumstances.
Mill Lane stood out compared with other homes visited.

Very happy with mums care. A visit to my house was organised quickly which all went to plan. Spoke to the deputy manager about mum moving rooms and was shown 2 rooms and he said to let them know if it's something I want to consider. He said he would chase up finding and let me know whats happening.

My mother was at Mill Lane for nearly of 10 years and latterly she had little mobility and suffered increasingly from dementia so that carers had to do everything for her - including feeding and turning her regularly to avoid bedsores. She reached her 100th birthday at the end of September and sadly
died soon afterwards, but I am sure that it was the excellent and consistent level of care which enabled Mum to achieve this milestone. The chef provided a lovely 100th birthday cake for her and the help and support of the staff both for her birthday celebrations and following her death was hugely appreciated. At Mill Lane, I knew that every member of staff including the cleaning, catering, admin and caring professions would do their best for mum and the other residents and give them the respect, care and indeed love, that they deserved. There was always a friendly welcome at any time of day or night and doctors were always called quickly if there were any health concerns at all.

As a person who has had experience of nursing homes I was skeptical about my grandad going into one. It wasn't a decision that was easy for us as a family and we were all very upset that this was the situation that we found ourselves in, as my grandad became ill. However, Mill Lane has completely changed
my mind. My grandad was clearly so well looked after by all the staff. He obviously had a good relationship with the staff and they obviously thought a lot of him too.
Nothing was ever any trouble. The staff were all happy and helpful, which was so reassuring to see.
Sadly my grandad passed away, but the staff did everything they could to ensure that he was comfortable and pain-free. They were also a great support to us whilst we were going through this tough time. I can't thank the staff enough. I will forever be thankful to you all. You made a hard situation bearable with your kindness, love the Giles family.
