Mill Lane Nursing Home is located in Felixstowe's Old Town and is convenient for local amenities and shops. The home provides regular trips for residents in the home's minibus to the local theatre, on shopping trips or to benefit from the fresh sea air of the nearby coastline. Peace and tranquillity are also on offer in the well maintained gardens that surround the Home - a perfect haven from the bustle of the town.

The home, once a local doctor's surgery, has been sympathetically extended and now provides a selection of welcoming reception rooms with attractive patio areas. Mill Lane offers specialised nursing care for the elderly and has an enviable reputation in the local community for its high quality care. Bedrooms are fully furnished, however, residents are encouraged to to bring with them items of furniture and personal effects to complement those already provided so that their room can become an individual retreat.

Care staff are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their skills but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. Staff are constantly available and provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual.

Residents are regularly assessed to ensure their needs are met. Appointments can be arranged with a visiting optician, dentist, and chiropodist. Mill Lane has an in-house hairdressing salon that provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages. Catering staff provide delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, with special diets being catered for.

A dedicated Activities Co-ordinator is available for residents and can arrange for them to take part in as many or as few activities as they wish.

Family and friends are always welcome at Mill Lane and they value their involvement in residents' care. Above all, they promote individual choice in a caring environment that is free from stress or worry.

My grandfather was here for around 3 months.
We can't thank the staff at Mill Lane enough for caring for my grandad in his final few months. He was looked after so well.
All the staff are amazing. They are so attentive and caring to all residents and their families.
I didn't have a good opinion
of care homes before and I was so upset when my grandad had to go into care, however, Mill Lane has changed my opinion. What a fantastic place. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a home from home care home.


My grandad's death was peaceful with us by his side. Thank you, Mill Lane and all your staff.

My mum had a stroke in August and was in hospital for six weeks. She was very low and near to giving up. Eventually, she started to get her speech back but no movement on her left-hand side so was told she would need twenty-four hour care and would have to go in a home. She found this very hard to accept,
at eighty-three she was very independent and still lived on her own.
We told her we would find the best nursing home going and that she wouldn't be left there, we would organise a wheelchair and take her out. Mill Lane has been brilliant. Mum has settled in nicely and seems to have banter with most of the staff and they seem to really care.
Mill Lane is highly recommended.

The care at Mill Lane is excellent. The care staff and nurses are all very friendly and willing to help in any way. There is a real homely atmosphere and there are always activities taking place. The food is also excellent and very well presented.

My mother passed away in March - she has been in this care home for 18 months and was 91. I am so grateful to everybody for making her last months so happy and worry free. I also benefitted from the overwhelming kindness and care shown to us by every member of staff. I cannot begin to show my appreciation
to everyone who guided us through a time when we both knew that mum's days were numbered. She was happy to the end which came rather unexpectedly and all the staff were almost as upset as me and they obviously really cared for her. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home from home. In fact, I already have to anyone that will listen.

Unfortunately, due to failing health, our mother was only at Mill Lane for just over two weeks but we would like to thank the management and staff for the excellent care they provided during her short stay. The level of care and commitment was second to none and we were pleased that we had selected
Mill Lane for her to spend the last few weeks of her life. The staff did all they could to make her as comfortable as possible and we were only sorry that she wasn't well enough to enjoy the numerous activities on offer. Thank you once again to all the staff for their kindness and professionalism. Best wishes.

When my mother arrived in 2012 at Mill Lane Nursing and Residential Home it was unsure if she would live through the night but the with the care, compassion, kindness and understanding that the staff at Mill Lane gave her we had four more years with our mother which was special. Sadly my mother was only here for 8 weeks before she passed away, but the care she received was excellent which was a great comfort for us, knowing that she was being looked after in a kind and respectful way. Whenever anyone visited we were always made to feel welcome and certainly never a nuisance.
We cannot thank them enough for all the care and support.

My mum was a resident at Mill Lane for four and a half years until her passing last week. Staff were always friendly and we were greeted with a smile. Mum was very well looked after and had several of the staff as friends. Mill Lane is a small home so the atmosphere is more homely. I have been very
happy with the care mum received and was glad to think she was in a safe environment.

My 96 year old mother has been at Mill Lane for approximately 18 months and during this time has deteriorated in health and mobility but has had the help, support and care of good staff. At this moment they are, I believe, excellent, (which includes everyone connected with Mill Lane) working as a team
with good humour and showing great care and respect to all the residents, which is lovely to observe. Of course there may be problems at times, but the management is approachable, listens and takes action if necessary.
