My aunt has been a resident of Stowlangtoft Hall for several years. Whenever I have visited her I have found her to be receiving excellent care in a beautifully maintained home that is set in fabulous countryside. The staff have always been so lovely, kind and have been so caring in their dealings with
both her and us her family. The caring and compassionate ethos of this family-run home are evident in every level of its management and I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

My Aunt was a resident at Stowlangtoft Hall for several years and very recently passed away at the home.
Throughout her time there, she was looked after with great care and kindness from all the staff. We would like to thank all the staff involved in Aunt's care for all they did in making her last

We couldn't have found a better 'home from home' for our father to live out his final months/year. The home and staff were very good. Dad was at home from the moment he arrived, just as though he has always lived here. He was not one to mix too much, but this was not a problem for the staff, they went
beyond the call to look after our dad's needs. I cannot say that you would find a better place to entrust your relatives care to. We cannot praise the staff enough as they cared for our dad to the very end. We would have no problem with recommending the home and staff to anyone.

My mother (96) has been resident for twelve months. She receives very good care from a kind and crucially, fairly unchanging team. On odd occasions when a problem has arisen, it is well and professionally dealt with.


The activities are good; it is very hard to please all of the people all of the

time, but they offer many diversions and make it attractive for families to visit.


The building itself is very grand, and there is a wonderful sense of space and a civilised atmosphere.

My mother spent 2 months at Stowlangtoft Hall over Christmas last year. She wouldn’t have chosen to go into a care home but as it became difficult to manage at home she accepted that she needed more help. We were so impressed with the professionalism and caring attitude of all the staff. Everyone played
their part in making her as comfortable as possible. We met the owners of the home, nurses, carers, kitchen staff and cleaners and everyone was equally wonderful.
Her room was lovely with beautiful views over the parkland and was big enough for our whole family to spend quality time with mum. We enjoyed seeing the local primary school children singing Christmas carols to the residents, one of which was her grandson. The home always felt so welcoming and family orientated. We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone enrolled in mums care. It truly deserves its outstanding rating.

My mother moved to Stowlangtoft Hall recently and has settled very well. The friendly and professional staff made her feel at home straight away. The care that she has received since moving in has been exceptional and has helped her to feel well and more comfortable at home. I very much enjoy my visits
to Stowlangtoft Hall knowing my mother is safe and well cared for. The daily social activities are superb and means that my mother is entertained and stimulated during the day. Stowlangtoft Hall is a wonderful home in a beautiful environment which is a pleasure to be able to spend quality time with Mum.

My mother in law has settled in very quickly. The staff are always very friendly, welcoming and supportive every time I visit. I can relax each time I visit and can spend quality time with my mother in law in a beautiful environment.


The daily social interaction has been very important for her and

has enriched her life's experience. She is enjoying life.


To think of improvements is extremely difficult as we know that she is in good, safe hands and we do not have to worry in any way about her when we are at home.


The food rating I would put as unknown but as I have to give a rating this has to be based on her comments to me. She certainly looks well fed.


Perhaps more trips out?


Occasional evening meal in the dining hall - a social event?


Residents' use of computers?


Tea dancing?

The big old mansion has been well adapted to accommodate almost fifty users. Almost all rooms have a wash basin and a toilet but no shower or bath - of which there is one each on every floor. Big, airy and bright rooms (library, craft room, dining room) can be used by anyone. The parkland, terrace and
conservatory provide more facilities. The carers/nurses are very friendly, helpful and patient, often an essential requirement! There are also activities organised for each afternoon. Perhaps some additional staff on the floor with permanent and highly disabled residents would be beneficial. On the whole, this is a high-quality nursing home.

Stowlangtoft Hall is a stately house situated in beautiful parkland, sporting a wide variety of mature trees, which I enjoyed walking amongst every day.
The home is beautifully maintained property retaining the character of the country mansion with entrance hall, library etc adapted to the needs of
a nursing home in a very sympathetic manner.
I found the staff, without exception, very friendly and helpful during my fortnight respite care, always with a smile and a laugh.
I would like to express my thanks to all for an enjoyable time spent at the Hall.

My sister-in-law was at Stowlangtoft Hall for five years. She loved the surroundings and always said how lovely the staff were. Although suffering from progressive dementia her every need were catered for. She was given dignity and freedom to be herself and do as she wished. The staff and management
were amazing in all they did for her. She insisted on wearing the same clothes. The staff solved this problem by removing the items at night, laundering and returning them to her room as if they had been there all the time to avoid upset. She was treated as one of the family and it really was her home in every sense. It was also such a relief when she needed nursing she could stay in her room and her familiar surroundings; so important to dementia sufferers. I cannot express how much of a reassurance it was to see the care and dedication all the staff at Stowlangtoft gave my sister-in-law. There is no doubt their care prolonged making her last years as happy as possible.

My mother has been at Stowlangtoft since August and during that time she has been very well looked after. I visit her on a regular basis and have found all members of staff to be very helpful, polite and friendly and clearly have the wellbeing of the residents as their chief concern. The office and
nursing staff are always ready to help to ensure that all matters concerning my mother's residence at the home runs smoothly, whether it be doctor's of hospital visits as well as helping with any application for financial assistance from social services. Her room is well appointed with both washbasin and toilet included as well as having a pleasant outlook over a pleasant courtyard as well as a view over the grounds when she goes into the passage on the other side. She enjoys very good meals in a 'grand' dining room and is able to receive visitors in the day rooms or the study if entertaining them for a meal. For myself, it is in a very convenient location, but I doubt that I would find any better if I were to look further afield.

My mother in law came here for respite whilst we had a well earned holiday. She was well looked after by the very caring staff and really did not want to come back home. She thoroughly enjoyed the food and the company and when we picked her up at the end of her stay, she looked revitalised.
The kindness
and friendliness of the staff was the highlight of the drive home, which I believe speaks volumes.

My mother has lived at Stowlangtoft Hall for the last four and a half years and died there a week ago. She was always happy there, firstly because the staff were unfailingly kind and patient with her. She was comfortable and enjoyed the magnificent setting of trees and garden, and she loved the surrounding
countryside.


She died at Stowlangtoft Hall and was cared for in the last week of her life with a sensitivity and an affection that I will always remember. I realised, as I should have know all along, that this particular care home is extraordinary for the way in which the residents are treated as individuals and that, even though my mother at 95 years of age had no short-term memory and found conversation quite difficult, that she was regarded as a friend and as a vital member of an extended family.


I am hugely grateful to all the staff at Stowlangtoft Hall who looked after my mother and who were the last new friends that she made in the course of her long life.

Following my mother's stroke at the age of 96, we were advised that she should receive 24 hour nursing care. We found Stowlangtoft Hall Nursing Home and asked the Manager to discuss arrangements with my mother in hospital. Although mother is a very independent person, she saw the good sense in living
in an excellently managed environment where she would receive 24 hour nursing care. She is now very happy with her large, bright and airy room and our minds are at rest knowing that she is well cared for. The staff are always cheerful, helpful and obliging. We find the Hall most agreeable.

The nursing home took my husband at very short notice for end of life care, even though they were not sure the only available room was suitable. This meant a lot to us as we live in the next village so could be with mum as much as possible.
The management went the second mile to provide a one to one-night
nurse and soon moved him to a lovely room. The care and adaptability of the staff were outstanding especially the trained nurses. Even the kitchen staff were willing to provide whatever food he fancied. The family was also offered meals. Six staff struggled to open a special bottle of love for him!

My brother was transferred from a busy hospital for palliative care. He only spent 36 hours at Stowlangtoft Hall but it was worth every minute of the time. Calm very caring staff. Nothing was too much trouble.
He died at peace there.
