The staff were cheerful, helpful and very attentive to the needs of the residents. It was a very welcoming visit, with coffee and biscuits provided in the main lounge. This is a delightful room with comfortable armchairs and a relaxing atmosphere. Three of the residents were encouraged in a jigsaw assisted
by one of the carers. Some were watching the TV or snoozing, while others were just passing the time of day and observing. It would be helpful if the staff/carers wore name badges.

The support given by staff at St Peter's has been of a high standard in keeping the residents safe and well cared for. Privacy and independence are respected, and care is provided with sensitivity. Visits are encouraged, and visitors are made welcome and able to see what is happening or raise any queries.

Dad was originally at St Peter's for respite and now is a permanent resident. We were so worried about Dad's welfare at home, with mobility problems and suffering from loneliness plus safety concerns. Since being at the care home, it's been a big relief to know that all his needs are catered for, including
personal hygiene, physical needs, lovely meals and interaction with people. The staff are always friendly and make time for him. Dad always has a smile for them.

This home is bright, clean and busy and has never smelled of urine. The food is very good, and the staff and carers are very friendly and helpful. When I have reported to the team leaders of any problems, it has been solved and dealt with without fuss. I would recommend this care home. The staff made
Christmas special with activities, the decorations were lovely, and the Christmas dinner was tasty.

My father is treated very well. All staff are very good, particularly the senior staff. St Peter's House is very comfortable and warm, and the food is excellent. As his daughter, they keep me well informed of any issues - medical or otherwise. We looked around other homes, and this is the only one that
my father felt comfortable in.

Very friendly and welcoming on enquiry. Very efficient in setting up the placement of Mother. Nice room. Very homely and encourages social discourse. Humour and friendliness from all staff. Several places to sit, both in the lounge and at the table. Plenty of activities, Very good food, served hot and
well presented. Encouraging family and friends to visit and take out for outside activities. Would recommend.

This is our first experience with a care home, and I have been pleasantly surprised at the overall quality and standards of this care home. It is well furnished and decorated throughout, with good maintenance and cleanliness. The staff are very friendly and caring. The food is plentiful and of a good
standard. The resident's various problems can take time to be dealt with, and more one-to-one would be appreciated.

My dad has been at St Peter's since April 2022. Initially for respite, but is now a permanent resident. Before going to St Peter's, my dad was very unsafe living at home, and he was very lonely. Now we know Dad is safe, happy and well cared for. The staff know my dad well, and all his physical and emotional
needs are met. The communication is good, and we are always informed of any issues.

My mother has been at the home for over 7-years and has always been well looked after. Though her dementia is quite severe, I can see by the way she responds to the staff there that she is happy and totally comfortable in her environment. As a frequent visitor to the home (before Covid times), I have
a always been impressed with the happy atmosphere, and find communication with staff very easy. Covid has presented its own complications, but the home has responded very well with each change required, and I have confidence in them to do the right thing.

I have already recommended St Peters a couple of times to friends. Staff, by and large, were excellent; particularly in a final couple of weeks of my father's life, when, as a family, we had a lot of interaction with the staff. Many unsung heroes on the staff - eg housekeeping and catering. Also, impressed
with the work ethic and attitude of some of the younger carers. Found the temporary manager at the time very helpful and supportive on many levels; particularly as we were in the early days of Covid. Only real complaint - raised on a number of occasions during his stay was the lack of control with my father's hearing aids by the team leaders. One unit totally lost at considerable expense! Often, his hearing aids would be in the office when the family visited; shame as he was totally deaf without them and diminished his enjoyment of the home. My father's stay in St Peters was just under a year, and overall, we were content with his stay.

Regarding hearing aids, I recall numerous occasions where we would find them under the bed and even on one occasion a plant pot.
Dad had various places that he would put them that we did get to know with time. We do have an improved procedure in place now to better support our residents with their hearing aids.
It was a real pleasure supporting and knowing your dad: he was a real character.

A care home full of compassionate staff with a sense of comradery and a ready responsiveness to family requests. The home dealt with the first year of the Covid with great skill and carefulness and pre-empted government lockdown measures at each stage to ensure maximum protection and safety for residents
- which was really reassuring.


Care homes face huge challenges - not least at present. As a family, we have had to learn that not everything will be perfect or ideal, but this home gets the basics right and is led by staff genuinely concerned about the welfare of residents. They do all in their power to provide dignity and love to the residents in their sunset years. I have been humbled by the commitment shown by the staff.

My mother-in-law’s dementia took a turn for the worse, and we needed respite care. St Peter’s House was amazing, quick, professional, and so lovely and friendly. Sadly she was only in 2-nights before passing away, we were so so thankful for there care and support throughout. I would highly recommend!

Wouldn't take my 88-year-old father back from hospital on the end of life on the 23/12/2020 after a negative result from coronavirus. We phoned St Peter's again on the 24/12/2020, still negative result. Refused to have him back so he could isolate in his room which he had for nearly two years.

We were very sad not to be able to readmit this gentleman back into the home following his exposure to COVID-19 at the hospital. We are honoured to look after up to 66 people here at St Peter’s House and sadly we could not take the risk of bringing back someone who (contrary to this review) did actually receive a positive COVID-19 test whilst in hospital.

My daughter initially found St Peters by accident when trawling through websites to find a home for my mother. I had visited others which felt stark and uncaring albeit with new furniture and decorations. St Peter’s may not have the fancy frills of other care homes, but they do have such a different
welcoming feel of ‘home’ and residents are truly loved and cared for by the amazing team they have.
My family have all be made so welcome, and prior to Covid, we shared some special times with my mother and staff at the home. Nothing is ever too much of a problem, and reception staff have been amazing how they have adapted to FaceTime calls and ‘safe’ visits over the past year. I feel the staff all know my mum well and understand her problems, and I am so pleased she is being cared for by the team at St Peter's. St Peter’s is not just a business out to make money, but a community offering special care to my mum and other residents. I recommend them highly.

All staff at St Peter's House treat my aunt and family with respect and dignity. Pre-pandemic they welcome family and visitors and encourage us to stay and share meals. Very caring and homely. I feel secure that Mum is well looked after by a fantastic team of staff. St Peter’s House was recommended to me by a friend because her own mother had been so well cared for here. I feel incredibly grateful to the staff who understand dementia extremely well. They work alongside each resident, ensuring that they are as happy and comfortable as is possible. My father has
advanced dementia and is also very frail at 91 years, his key worker deserves huge recognition for her skill through the pandemic, enabling my Dad to have video calls with me. She understands him so well, and she has the ability to make him smile and reassure him that he is loved. I cannot praise this home and all it’s wonderful staff enough.
