Our father was a resident up until his recent passing. At that time, the care and compassion the management and staff gave to him and us, his family, was exceptional. Family difficulties made the relationship very awkward for the home but they rose above this situation and ensured that we were all kept
updated with Dad’s health and care. A very grateful thank you to the manager and all the staff at Witnesham for looking after our beloved father and for the help and support they gave us too.

My grandfather was cared for there for end of life. All staff have been wonderful and they can’t be praised enough. Before he became unwell he was enjoying so many activities with the rest of the residents, and really enjoyed his stay there. I can’t thank enough all the staff there for looking after
him so well.

My uncle went into this lovely care home August 2020. I have always found his care to be of the highest standards. I telephoned him every evening and he always seemed happy with his care and food, the staff were always willing to talk to me when I phoned regarding his well being. I feel I couldn’t have
made a better choice for him, all the staff go that extra mile to care for the residents.

My family and I would like to say a big thank you for all the kindness they showed to dad, and to the rest of the family. My dad was treated with respect and dignity up to the end. We are very sad but blessed he was in good hands. Thank you, we salute you all; love from the family.

When I visited this patient I always found him clean, shaved and comfortable in a pristine bed at peace with the world. In fact, I had never seen him looking so well and content thanks to lots of T.L.C

This was Dads first time in a care home and we couldn’t have been more satisfied with this lovely home. The staff were extremely friendly, warm and welcoming. On our first visit with Dad we met the nurse in charge and she was so informative and kind and really understood Dad's needs. The day we left
Dad we met the owner and many of the other staff, all were friendly and spoke to Dad directly. The home is small and cosy and is like a very comfortable Hotel.
The menu is very good with lovely home made meals. Dad doesn’t eat much at home but really tucked into the meals during his stay. He said he really enjoyed his stay and was able to chat and have a laugh with the staff.
His room was very clean and bright and a TV was organised for him for his stay.
We were extremely pleased with this home and will certainly look to use it again in the future for respite care.

My Aunt moved to this home in December very quickly following a deterioration in her physical health. She found this extremely distressing and grieved for her own home. Every member of staff has worked tirelessly to show her kindness, respect and cared for her as they would a family member. She is now
much more settled and adapting to residential life.
I would not hesitate to recommend this outstanding care home to any of my friends family or acquaintances. They go over and above their expected care to provide a truly caring, empathetic environment. As a family, we can only say thank you so very much.

Very friendly and was well received by staff. Smartly kept in both furnishings and decoration, the accommodation (room) was very comfortable and staff most helpful. Also in a very pleasant location.

I feel that my husband's general care is very good. I was worried when he first came into the home as we have never experienced this before, but it's good.

Personally, I find the residential home an environment that is friendly, caring with a happy atmosphere. All that I would look for when selecting a home for my family. The care is as good as it can be, the food smells nice, tastes nice and looks nice, the midday meal is excellent.
Everyone is approachable
to discuss anything with. A home from home with professional care given.

My Uncle has been in Witnesham Nursing Home since January 2017. The care provided by the staff is second to none and we have been very pleased. It is a very friendly place and has a cosy, homely feel to it. It is pristine and the food is home-cooked and tempting and tasty for the residents. We think
it is a gem of a place.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.291)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.291) out of 10 for Witnesham Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.833 for Witnesham Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (20 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.833

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.458 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Witnesham Nursing Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.333

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
