The home provides nursing, residential and dementia care both on a permanent, or respite basis. Residents also have access to a spacious back garden with a sun-trap, ideal for the summer months.

Activities at Bamfield are designed to enhance the residents' well-being, encourage social interaction, and support them with their existing hobbies and interests. Activities are wide ranging and personalised to residents' needs.

Bamfield Lodge has a patio garden and an outdoor seating space, ideal for enjoying coffee or lunch. The home also features a hair salon, spacious en-suite bedrooms and lounges.

Mum has only been in Bamfield for 2 months but has settled in well and enjoying her time there. The laid back atmosphere, helpful caring staff, cleanliness and food and drink options a plenty ensures my mind is at ease during her stay

I have to say the staff on reception, to all the girls upstairs, are extremely helpful and look after my auntie very well. Would totally recommend this care home, if you need anyone looking after you. My aunt is happier than she's been in years.

Each time I enter the home, there is a lovely atmosphere. All the staff are very caring and friendly and always happy to help. The management team are always happy to help and always very welcoming. I can not fault the home or the staff at Barchester Bamfield Lodge Care Home.

From induction to pre-visit to site and during the two-week respite, the room was adjusted to suit Mum and Dad in the same room.
The staff assistants could not do enough to encourage them to join in the daily activities. Food was 10/10.
A very relaxing and friendly place and will be retuning in the
near future for further respite.

The care home has been so understanding and patient, their ability to aid and comfort in times of dementia and anxiety has been a lifesaver. They are like family supporting family, they go the extra mile to make sure you are ok in the process as well as their resident.
The food is lovely and there
is always an option to stay and eat with your loved one if you wish. It helps to know Mum can have friends over to eat with her.

I like Barchester Bamfield Lodge Care Home because staff are wonderful, all look after me beautifully. The food is delicious and have made good friends here and have lots of fun. Staff are friendly and the staff are excellent.
I would like to go on trips out now the weather is better. I enjoyed the
trip to the farm.

As soon as you walk into Bamfield, you feel at ease. It is very welcoming, bright and airy. It is like a hotel but with professional care included. The manager is a very caring lady who listens to how the family are feeling. That is so important when very heart-breaking, stressful decisions are being
made about your loved ones. Thank you for caring and being there for me when I needed a shoulder to weep on. The team are jolly, supportive and caring. I would recommend this care lodge for respite or full-time care.

Mum has been there since August 2023, she settled in very well and made friends quickly. The staff is very good and if I have a question or query about Mum they are always helpful and reassuring. I am very happy with Mum there and the level of care given to her.

My father has had 2 weeks of respite care in your care home at Bamfield Lodge, it's wonderful like a 4-star hotel. Clean, fresh and a positive supportive atmosphere. The care staff are very professional, caring and attentive. I would recommend any family if in need of this kind of home full-time or
for repsite. My father was taken care of very well, he loved the food and all the staff.

I find the staff friendly and always willing to help with any concerns I have. Mum is happy most of the time but thinks the staff are sometimes too busy, and they need more help. Overall we are happy with the current support to come up the only thing that is of concern is that car parking is very limited,
and we find it difficult to park some days.

The care team always go above and beyond for my nan!
The kitchen team are always asking residents to help plan the meals and menus.
Activities put in lots of effort to make the activities person-centred.

Nice enough looking care home. The room facilities are very good. The garden could be better. Food is not the greatest. Some very lovely staff individually. However, the greatest problem here is that there is dreadful communication. Lots of different staff covering various shift patterns and the Manager
is always in a meeting, never seen her in 6 weeks of my Father being here. Yesterday my Father ordered his tea/supper. After 45 minutes of waiting, nothing arrived. They had forgotten him and he would have not eaten if we had not been there. Really is not the best value for money care home out there. I would not recommend it.

I joined to Barchester in 2017 and have gained a lot of experience during that time. I am very proud of my work and get a lot of satisfaction from providing high standards of care and guiding the team. As the General Manager I am responsible for the overall running of Bamfield Lodge and assisted in this by a great team of staff. It is hugely rewarding to be able to support our residents and help them to lead fully enriched lives in their new homes.

My door is always open to anyone considering care for themselves or for a loved one. Please do not hesitate to contact our home and I will do my utmost to assist you in whatever way I can.

My passion is to ensure that our residents are provided with the very best of care, dignity, respect and support to enable them to live a healthy and happy life in our home.
