Situated in the popular town of Clevedon, this purpose-built modern home provides warm and welcoming accommodation with comfortable rooms and beautiful gardens. All bedrooms are well-decorated and residents are welcome to personalise their surroundings.

Food is homemade and can be enjoyed in the elegant dining room or in the privacy of residents’ own bedrooms. All loved ones are made to feel welcome when visiting.

My auntie has COPD. During this coronavirus pandemic, she has to isolate in her room. This is a very lonely shrinking world that she now has to live in. The staff have done all they can to make her life as easy and pleasant as they can. We even managed to have a face to face chat over 2hrs through glass
doors - that cheered us both up. My auntie has issues with her toileting and this sometimes can be an issue for her - speed is of the essence which isn't always achievable.

My mother was admitted to Elm View in April from hospital after a hip operation. She had fallen in her care home which was unable to provide the necessary nursing care. She had not been tested for coronavirus and had to be kept in isolation for two weeks.
No family visit has yet been possible so the
judgements made here rest in part on local knowledge and local reputation. Her immediate family are both local and abroad. Elm View has kept in touch with us and telephone contact has been good.

On arriving at Elm View I was greeted by a care helper that I remembered from one of my previous respite visits and she remembered me. I soon met others that I knew. My room was small and cleaned, together with the bathroom, daily with bins emptied and towels changed. Meals were plentiful and varied
but I did find that the vegetables tended to be overcooked. I assume that they were easier to eat for a number of the residents. I often ate in my room as I found eating at a table with several other people when few or no words were spoken rather disconcerting. On numerous occasions, I met two women in the garden or lounge and enjoyed long chats. In the afternoon various activities were arranged with two musical concerts being particularly enjoyable. Excellent. All members of the care and medical staff were always professionally and socially great.
I found them all easy and interesting to talk to. I always felt completely safe from the current virus.

No experience of any other homes, other than the news and anecdotes, but for this one the staff are communicative, helpful, caring, largely conscientious and competent. Facilities are good and clean.
Sometimes procedures for writing up care duties are not carried out consistently and sometimes the
regime for care (movement, bed turning etc) slides. Sometimes also comments in the records regarding our mum's understanding of her surroundings, of what is happening to her, or said to her, are very misleading (by being too optimistic, crediting her with more awareness than she has), but they are the only negatives.

Since my mother-in-law has been admitted she has over the years been well cared for. She has been happy and now as she is in extremely poor health even more cared for. As I live some 2 hundred miles distance I have been kept aware of both her and the general situation by the staff on a regular basis.

He celebrated his 94th birthday at Elm View in May and was made to feel very special. Even during this difficult time, we were in regular contact with him via WhatsApp and Facetime,

My uncle was a resident for nearly 3 years. The staff have always been amazing with him going above and beyond to make him happy and settled. Sadly he recently passed away. It was so difficult for us all because of Lockdown, however, the staff have been fantastic, phoning us and making sure he got to
speak to us regularly. It was a massive comfort to know that other people who loved and cared for him as we did were with him at the end of his life.

My mother has been a resident at Elm View for almost 4 years, she has always been very happy there. The staff are more like family. She takes part in all of the activities some have even been created for her. The choir which she was asked to help run has been a success, not just for her but the other

Elm View is a warm and wonderful home. My mother and mother-in-law have been residents here for over three and two years respectively.
All the staff are kind, attentive and professional, and we’ve shared many laughs together.
Knowing this has been a great source of comfort to me and my family, particularly
during the recent weeks of confinement due to the Covid virus.
I know that both my mum and mum-in-law are in the best of places - sheltered from harm and cared for by devoted, loyal and cheerful carers.

As my husband has dementia, I, as his wife and carer, can confirm that my husband had a very happy 11 nights stay at Elm View. He praised the caring and loving attitude towards him. Due to his illness, he did not remember many details except the kindness of the staff and the excellent chef who, obviously,
produced food which he loved.

I stayed at Elm View for a week of respite care. Without exception, the staff treated me with friendly respect and consideration. Quite apart from aspects of care, such as nursing and food, they even offered me their technical expertise so that I was able to take advantage of the Wi-Fi connection and
enjoy some of the entertainment available from the internet.


I shall have no hesitation in recommending Elm View to any of my friends who may be looking for that little bit of extra TLC.

The room was pleasant with an attractive view. The staff were friendly and competent. My stay was a pleasant break between a hospital stay and returning home.
My main complaint is that despite requests I was unable to receive communion during my 3 week stay. I feel this a distinct weakness on the
part of the home. I was assured before I left hospital that a priest visited regularly. (Once a year?) It also took 2 weeks plus before I was given the correct code to access Wi-Fi with family in Australia. Internet access is important to me.

I went to Elm View Care Home for convalescence after my discharge from hospital. My 10 days in Elm View Care Home, I was looked after very well. The staff were very kind and caring. All the meals excellent. All the care gave me a good start to return home.

My Mother who is 91, was taken ill and spent a week in hospital. She had to be discharged to a home, not back to her flat. Staff were conscientious, friendly and helpful. They have taken great pains to integrate her into the community. The nursing staff have also been very active and successful in organising
GP's to control pain and other medical issues. Also good support and clarity from admin staff.
