I found the management very good and assuring. The nurses and carers, excellent. The cleaners were very good and friendly. Would I stay there if I had to? Yes.

The care my mother has received is excellent. She looks great and has recovered greatly. The staff are so caring and polite and I cannot thank them enough for the care they have given to my mother. The whole family are thrilled, she is now to return to her original residential home as this was an assessment
stay. The staff have made it possible.

Having had previous experiences with two other care homes, I am very pleased to finally have found a care home that really cares for my father. In just one week of his admittance, I could see a vast improvement in his health, both physically and mentally. At last, I am able to have confidence in all

My Dad was admitted to Hospital in January 2021, he was given a grant for nursing care and was given a choice of 4 homes, after reading the reviews we decided Avon Lodge was the best fit. The reviews were not wrong, they were really good to my Dad. He was terminally ill but his health actually seemed
to improve during his stay although we knew this couldn't last.
The important thing is he felt safe and the staff cared for him in his final days.

This is a very good care home. My brother has been there 18 months now. The staff are very helpful and communication is very good. I have no complaints whatsoever.

I was only able to visit my dad on two occasions before lockdown, but my impression was of a caring environment in very trying circumstances. From that point onwards, I was kept constantly up to date by phone in a sympathetic and understanding way, until his death at the end of April. I was unable to
experience all of the facilities during my very brief visits and can only judge by what I saw.

I have found the home to be a very friendly and happy home. My friend is very well looked after. She is happy with the staff, loves the food and enjoys the entertainment. My mum and dad have both been residents in this home. My mum has been very well cared for over the past year. My dad was only there for a month but they helped him live and die with dignity despite the restrictions with Covid-19, they did everything they could to allow my parents to be together at the
end. The staff have been more than kind and supportive to me and my parents; they are the best!

My mother went in on 27 January 2020. My first impressions were very good, she had been in hospital from end of October 2019 from another care home but they wouldn't take her back so she had Christmas in hospital. Then we had to find another home. Well, I wish we had seen this home the first time.
The staff from the time you go in were brilliant. It takes time to settle in but mother seemed to. The staff from management to the cleaning team all care and always had time for you as well. My mother was on Treetops, she passed away on 16 May. With the virus in the lockdown we were relying on staff, we had video calls. Anyway, I would like to thank the staff for looking after her and being with her at the end. Thank you.

My mum came to Avon Lodge from hospital on 19.09.2016.
She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 7 years previous.
Mum settled well, we were able to make the room personal to her, we even took some furniture in and put family photos up on the wall.
On mums birthdays I was able to take mums favourite fish
and chips and the whole family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren would be able to celebrate her birthday in the dining room.
Christmas was the same, we all went in over the Christmas lunch and spent the time with mum.
The lead nurses on Treetops as well as all the Carers, cleaners and the ladies that do the laundry were helpful and treated mum as part of their own family. The office staff always acknowledged you on arrival and very approachable.
She sadly passed away on 14th February during that week my husband and I were allowed to stay with her - they all made us welcome and set a table in a room with glasses, fruit juice, fresh fruit tea and coffee was always available.
I would thoroughly recommend Avon Lodge.

I called to speak to my Nan. The carer was on a different floor but said it was no trouble while taking the phone to her. She was very friendly and gave me an update on how my Nan is feeling.

The home was spotlessly clean. No nasty smells. room light and airy and well laid out. All the staff, from top management to domestic staff were caring, polite, kind, generous with time and comments. They were respectful of her needs and understood her poof sight. they would say who they were and what
they were there to do so she knew what was about to happen. Nothing was too much trouble Loved the freedom of being able to make her a cup of tea whenever we wanted to. Having previously worked in this profession, I would say its the best home I have ever visited. Thank you for your dedication.

I would just like to say a huge thanks to the staff and carers, especially in these uncertain, worrying times. It was my dads birthday yesterday, and the staff were very accommodating by bringing him out into the garden so that we, as a family could see him and be reassured, and for him to know we were
thinking about him. The smile on his face meant an awful lot to us. I know things are difficult and there is not enough staff, however, I know my dad is being well looked after. A big thank you from the family.

Dad has been at Avon Lodge for just over 6 weeks now. All care homes are currently in a lock down situation due to the threat of the Coronavirus. However, the staff at the home have been nothing but helpful in assisting us in speaking with Dad on the telephone and even helping us to video chat with
Dad so we can 'see' him and talk to him. Dad settled really well and loves the carers, who all look after him really well and genuinely care about him.
Nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and, prior to the lock down, we were able to visit whenever we liked. Thank you everyone, for making our Dad/Gramps feel so at home. He thinks he's in a hotel. Bless him.
