Amberley House Nursing Home is licenced to care for thirty persons with nursing needs, and it offers an ideal residential setting for expert care as well as a varied daily schedule.

The Amberley property is convenient to bus services and a road across Truro Railway Station. They offer a lovely garden view and a balcony where residents may relax and enjoy the outdoors. It is conveniently located near a shopping centre which residents can visit to enjoy some retail therapy. Residents have access to a pleasant interior, a nutritious variety of meals, and a varied activities programme, as well as a 24/7 care team that respects each individual's privacy and dignity.

The team would be delighted to welcome any families who are interested in the service, and would be happy to answer any questions or take visitors around.

From my wife's first introduction to Amberley House Nursing Home in September 2021 through to her passing on 29th July 2022, the care and attention given to her always inspired the confidence of my family and myself that her security and comforts were well catered for. All staff including those in management
and administration were efficient, patient, kind and gentle and indications of health issues were observed quickly and suitably treated. I, therefore, have no reservations in my recommendation of the establishment to any prospective enquiries for residents in need of nursing and/or concentrated care.

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Amberley House for the support given to my father in the last four months of his life. One thing we learned through our daily visits to Amberley House is that the job of a professional carer is anything but “unskilled labour”. All those who
cared for my father were well-trained for their difficult role, as well as being friendly, approachable, competent, and discreet. They are too many to mention by name, but we especially appreciated the perseverance of those who cared for him most regularly – they know who they are. All our contacts with the management and administrative team were straightforward and friendly, and in spite of covid restrictions, you always demonstrated flexibility and patience whenever we needed to change the time of our daily visits. All in all, Amberley provided a thoroughly reliable service and our family will be singing its praises for years to come.

I have had the experience of visiting a number of friends, family, and distant relatives, who have had to reside in a variety of care homes over the years. Thankfully, most of them have lived up to expectations of what the minimum standard of care is required from such establishments. Amberley House
is not one of them. If I were to rate the standard of care provided from all the care homes with which I have had contact, Amberley House would rank in the lowest possible position. Don't get me wrong, there are many care assistants who are wonderful and are doing a brilliant job against incredible pressures. Also, the catering team does a fantastic job. However, there are certain people in Amberley House - (I am not allowed to name them but I quote the Review Policy Standards which state - "Please do not use names (Job titles/positions are acceptable)" who fall dramatically below these standards. The Manager is the problem!

This was a second visit to Amberley House, and we were so pleased to see the alterations, provision of a lift etc. My husband came for two weeks respite to enable me to have a rest after a difficult 3 months. The care here is wonderful, likes and dislikes are noted, and although the staff are busy,
they took time to talk to both my husband and others who visited him. Amberley has a real warmth and a very caring ambience.

Amberley was very welcoming, from the first point of contact they were helpful and made a very difficult end of life care decision, much more reassuring. Without exception, all members of staff were very caring and professional and there is a lovely balance between all the nursing, carers and admin
team. Everyone was very respectful of both their resident's needs and visitors also.

When I first visited Amberley House Nursing Home, although recommended I found it a little "shabby chic" but soon learnt that the care was second to none, the staff dedicated and humorous and most had been there years! As I visited almost daily they are all now my friends as well. The residents look
well and happy and everything seemed to be under control I am happy to say alterations have now been carried out at the property which looks great. This is a very well run nursing home.

I recommend Amberley House both for condolence and long term living. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly and it feels like a real home rather than a "care home". The staff without exception do everything possible to make life as pleasant as circumstances allow, and always with a smile and personal
greeting. The food is delicious and plentiful with several choices for each meal, not forgetting the afternoon tea trolley, often with delicious home made cakes. I am very grateful for all the care I received during my six weeks stay.

The staff at Amberley are professional, hard working and caring. The facilities are dated (no en-suites, two in a room) but the atmosphere is happy and unstressed. The meals are first class and personal choice accommodated without problems. The management locally is excellent and the manager has independence
to make decisions without retribution form above. Resident do not appear to be regarded as cash providers, they are valued, elderly sick friends.
