With stunning views overlooking Launceston market town and the surrounding countryside, Cedar Grange is a beautiful care home in a picturesque location.

As well as providing residential, nursing and dementia care, the team provides respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for family carers who would like to plan a short break themselves, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is being cared for.

The bedrooms are spacious and have walk-in wet room showers, with the ground floor rooms having private garden access.

There are wonderful spaces to enjoy activities and relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time. There’s a café area, overlooking the gardens, welcoming lounges and sunrooms with wall to ceiling windows, which are beautiful spaces to enjoy the surrounding views and spend quality time with visitors.

A hairdresser also visits twice a week for appointments in the home’s salon, as well as offering nail treatments for those who fancy a spot a pampering.

There are so many enriching activities to enjoy, including animal therapy visits, with everything from therapy dogs to donkeys, as well as live entertainment, with singers, dancers and musicians, and arts and crafts.

The gardens are beautiful and feature wheelchair friendly pathways and raised planters, so residents in wheelchairs can also enjoy growing their own produce for the chef to use in the kitchen, giving them such a sense of purpose and achievement.

In the dining rooms residents enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays, as well as home baking every day for afternoon tea.

Close to the town centre, the residents can enjoy trips out into the community, keeping those local connections alive. And situated a short five-minute drive from the A30, Cedar Grange has excellent transport links and plenty of parking.

Being privileged to be an essential caregiver to my husband in the Harmony unit, I have found an air of friendliness which is only exceeded by the amazing degree of care given to the residents. The staff treat all with such calm, competence and attention to detail. They have twice cared, successfully,
for my husband who has suffered two serious infections. Being chairbound, he is always given a cheery wave and hello by passing staff. His room and communal area are bright and airy. I know that he is in the best place and am deeply grateful for all the care given to him. I am also grateful for the special touches, e.g. birthday card and gift, and little extras in his room from the activities carer. I leave to go home knowing that he is in exceptionally capable hands!

The staff at the Cedar Grange Care Home are just brilliant. They are so personable and caring. I know that my mother, who has complex mental needs but physically quite fit, is very well looked after. I often see a member of staff holding a hand, stroking hair or giving a hug to a resident.

The day to day care my mother receives from the carers is excellent, especially from the Cedar Grange employees. It is difficult to assess the agency staff as they change, though there are some that are regular and are very good.
The management has seen several recent changes and communication from
that level could be improved.
The home is bright and welcoming and provides a safe environment.

The staff are very caring. Their kindness is exceptional. I feel very happy knowing my husband is being looked after so well. They pay love and attention to his every need and I know he is kept comfortable and well fed. The receptionist is always friendly and helpful and staff I meet in the home always
greet me. I do notice, however, some of the agency staff do not have the same level of caring, for example, my husbands face not being wiped after a meal, his chin getting grazed from the hoisting and not realising how unbending his legs are.

I have complete peace of mind knowing that my mother is in the best possible hands and I couldn't be

My father was admitted in 2013 when he was very unstable. With great care and support, he has stabilised and has become very comfortable within the protected environment. The staff have engaged with his communication difficulties and given him an excellent quality of life.

He kept saying we couldn't have picked a better place for him.
Everyone was so kind and caring and they had him back from hospital for end of life care. They were all brilliant he was there for 10 months. Loved the musical dos and church services.

I came here for two weeks following my hospital discharge after a total hip replacement. The staff were brilliant at helping me regain my mobility and independence ready for going home to live on my own.


The nursing staff looked after my wound and arranged for my usual medication to be reviewed by

my doctor and I am very pleased with their caring support.


I would recommend Cedar Grange to anyone in a similar situation; they are very good at what they do!

My 82-year-old sister moved from a nearby residential care home to this more specialised nursing home in July 2015. Her Alzheimer condition (diagnosed 6 years ago) has, sadly advanced, particularly in the past 12 months.


The combination of an excellent local GP practice, who take time to understand

the changing needs of my sister and the qualified/trained staff, means that she receives closely monitored medication, care and support.


Each of the 4 units within Cedar Grange is designed to accommodate just 15 residents, mostly with similar conditions. The individual rooms are sufficiently large and bright and can (if desired) accommodate familiar/personal furniture, chairs, pictures and possessions to retain the feeling and association of "home".


What we, as a family, want is for my sister to be well looked after in a safe and caring environment, which can give her the best chance to have the right kind and level of support during her final years.


Cedar Grange gives us the confidence and evidence that this objective is met very successfully. We would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely positioned, quality and caring home.

Cedar Grange is a very well presented clean and tidy care environment for dad just what we were looking for.
A warm welcome always awaits us as dad doesn't really like going out so a coffee upstairs is always lovely. The staff are warm and genuinely care about residents but also the family who it's

Mum has been at Cedar Grange for some 4 years. I have always found the staff to be extremely helpful and efficient, always treating Mum with dignity and patience. Facilities are modern and still give a homely feel to the place. Mixing with other residents is actively encouraged but staff recognise when
Mum needs peace and quiet.

When my mother first entered Cedar Grange three years ago we were very impressed with the way the residents were treated. The individual care given to each person and the little extra things the carers did to make them feel a little bit special and cared for.


Over the past year or so we have noticed

a marked decline in this very important aspect. We are not sure if this is due to the constantly changing staff, which seems to be the norm recently, but both myself and my sister, who living much closer goes more frequently than I, rarely see the same person twice so we do not know the carers any more. Also there never seems to be anyone we can discuss matters with.


Recently when my sister called mother was in a very unclean state and she wasn't too much better when we visited on a planned occasion.


As regards value for money, top rates are being charged which are being increased regularly, therefore we should actually get premium service.


We have heard that some residents have been moved from Miller because of these concerns and may have to look at this option, although change is not good for people with my mother's condition. This aspect seems to be being ignored with all the staff upheavals that seem to be going on, stability is what is needed.

My mother has been a resident of Cedar Grange since it opened in 2008. Cedar Grange is run by Cornwall Care and in it's brief existence has had a chequered history. At times the management has been very poor and the extremely quick turnover of staff has resulted at times in my opinion to be detrimental
to the residents. However in recent times things appear to have settled down, my 92 year old mother seems content and well cared for and currently I have no real concerns. My 88 year old father visits my mother on a daily basis and he too us happy with her current situation. Continuity of staff still appears a problem but my mother has recently moved from one wing to another without it having any adverse effect on her.

Home always looks good and smells good which is not always the case of other homes. Mummy is always dressed properly, hair groomed and never seems messy. She is unable to do anything for herself. She responds well to all the staff, smiling laughing and sometimes gives them a hug. I don't see mummy that
often so she now no longer recognises me. Its comforting though to see her responding to the staff and relatives. The food always looks very good, mummy is given lots of hot drink which she loves though. She does need encouragement to start drinking. When I leave I feel happy that mummy is being well looked after with care and dignity.
