Eshcol House Nursing Home is a wonderful place to live, located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The property is situated a very short distance from the beach, and the views from many of the rooms are truly exceptional, from the Portscatho beaches 'Tatums' and 'The Porth' across Gerrans Bay with the famous Gull Rock, Nare Head and Dodman Point in full view. The gardens are pretty with numerous places and opportunities to relax and enjoy the breath taking views.
The team are very pleased to have counted many former locals from the village amongst their residents and they feel a special bond with the community.

The very friendly and proficient management team and all the lovely staff have a wide range of expertise and knowledge, and everyone really enjoys working together to make every day special for the lovely residents.

Whilst being a homely environment, Eshcol House is well stocked with any necessary equipment to help residents who need more help to make the most of their day. The home also have their own accessible minibus for trips out to places of interest, alongside dedicated activities staff to ensure everyone has a variety of things to do, to encourage the lovely communal feel the home has developed over the years.

The local GP surgery is round a very short corner and the home has a named doctor who is their contact. On admission your relative will be transferred to this practice and will meet the doctor at the earliest opportunity for a review.

My Mum has been at Eshcol for a number of years. The staff are all so lovely and caring, they have got to know Mum well and although so sad she is in a home I couldn't wish for her to be anywhere better. Always welcoming to us when visiting (even allowing us to bring our puppy - welcomed with doggy
biscuits!) And flexible on visiting times due to travel times for us. The home is fortunate to be in a beautiful location and Mum has an amazing sea view and is able to enjoy the coming and going of the boats out at sea.

Wonderfully genuine members of staff. Nothing was too much trouble for us as visitors and mum-in-law looked very well looked after. Thank you so much for the care and thoughtfulness towards mum. We will be forever in your debt as we can not be there as much as we would want to.

They have gone above and beyond and all staff encounters I have had have all been very positive with a friendly team. My friend was received at Eshcoll earlier this month and given a really beautiful room - comfortable, airy, with a magnificent sea view. Although she was very agitated on arrival after a long ambulance journey from the hospital, the staff quickly settled her. The staff are so helpful, cheerful and caring,
quick to respond to requests and careful to explain any questions the residents may have. The food is excellent too, and I am very happy that my friend has been placed at Eshcol House.

My neighbour was admitted to Eshcol as he was very ill in the hospital. During his stay, he was well looked after but sadly died after a few weeks. He was taken there for palliative care, and I think they were good. I went to visit him with his wife, and we could go in as often as we wanted. They were
all so lovely, and he seemed comfortable and pain-free. Thank you to the staff.

I cannot rate Eshcol House Nursing Home highly enough. Their care and attention go the extra mile. My godmother, due to her mental state, was unsettled when she first arrived from upcountry, and the staff have done everything in their capability to welcome and settle her. All the staff, kitchen, carers
and all other persons who work within the home are always there, and very attentive to any needs or requests, and I would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone placing a loved one into care.

Excellent nurses, doctors, admin staff and health care personnel are always willing to help my mother and her needs. They are always on the phone keeping us up to date and giving the care our mother needs. Wonderful care home in a great location they even give Mother little treats such as days out and
haircuts which she likes. The staff there are so friendly and always willing to help visitors out. Whatever food Mother requests they always provide for her. It is always clean in the care home and the health care assistants and staff there are just amazing. The bonus is you can visit any time you want.

Eschol House and all of the team have and continue to, operate with outstanding professionalism. We are always impressed by how genuine and caring everyone who works there is. On arrival, we are always welcomed with the warmest reception and always kept fully updated with any developments. Communications
are very frequent and consistent with exceptional high standards of care and consideration for our family member who is a resident. It is really remarkable that all of the staff are so diligent in the execution of their duties and they go to immeasurable lengths to ensure exceptional care. The team have always delivered to the highest standards and it is a pleasure to see such a fantastic system in operation particularly during the pandemic. It is a credit to them all for their outstanding performance. I would wholeheartedly recommend this care home and know from experience in the medical sector how special they are.

My father has been living at Eschol for a number of years now. He initially struggled to settle and we were given some good advice from the staff. When lockdown hit, the staff worked tirelessly to protect and support him, keeping him Covid free. I appreciate how hard they must have worked during that
time. He has settled so well. Staff are friendly and engaging and always make us feel welcome as visitors. Dad's room is cosy and comfortable. His view is amazing and he loves looking out over the ocean! We feel very fortunate.

Staff at Eschol are warm, welcoming, hospitable, collaborative, and responsive. When residents express a faith or would just like to talk with a minister, staff ensure that they are referred to me. I am grateful to the Eshcol team for their willingness to work with me to ensure that the residents receive
spiritual care when they request it. Staff always accommodate my visits and do all they can to facilitate anything that I might need to serve the residents. The confidentiality of the patients is treated with the utmost respect by all concerned. Eschol is an outward-looking nursing home, an important part of the local community. I am pleased to be included in communications and invited to any open events and meetings.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. I am allowed to visit my dad whenever I like, provided it is prearranged, and we are left alone. If I need help, there is always someone willing to assist. Despite the high temperatures we have had over the last few weeks, the home is always comfortable. Dad
is happy, which makes me happy. He has a great view of the sea, which I know he likes.

Mum was admitted in December 2019 for respite care and didn’t recover her strength enough to return home before the Covid 19 lockdowns struck and her former care at home became impossible to organise. Despite all the challenges that followed, the care staff have maintained a lovely warm family environment
where they don't just care for Mum, they care about her too.

I found a lovely clean home with very friendly staff and very helpful, all questions were answered. You could visit any time and always greeted when you walked through the door. I think it is a lovely home for my brother-in-law to stay in and he is very happy there.

My aunt recently passed away after two years of tender care at Eshcol House Nursing Home. As next of kin, but living 150 miles away, it was important that I knew how she was doing. Thanks to the Care Control website I was able to do this on a daily basis and contact Eshcol House Nursing Home with any
concerns. On visiting it was apparent that she was well cared for and she was complimentary about her room, the staff, and the food. She was indulged and pampered, describing Eshcol House Nursing Home as her hotel! There is a definite caring ethos in the Home.

Eshcol House Nursing Home is a beautiful residency close to the picturesque village of Portscatho, overlooking Gerrans Bay on the Roseland Peninsula, where my wife who is living with Alzheimer's resides. The Manager and all his staff team are fabulous, caring, and attentive to all my lady's needs. They
all go above and beyond to create a comforting, safe environment in which she feels at home and well supported. I would thoroughly recommend Eshcol House to anyone looking to find the right place for their loved ones to be fully supported and cared for.

My husband has been a resident at Eshcol House Nursing Home for 8 years. He has received nursing care since he arrived, as he needs 2 person care plus experienced nursing care 24 hours. The nurses at Eschol House are excellent, professional, knowledgeable and caring and have a great relationship with
him. Everything is organised and timely. His room is kept tidy and clean, and all his personal needs are catered for. The management team are responsive and communicates with me regarding my husband's needs and any changes needed, as are the nursing staff too. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. When I have raised any issues, these are dealt with immediately and with excellent communication. All the staff including care assistants, wellbeing manager, chefs, cleaning and handymen are all dedicated to their work there. I have full confidence in that I know my husband is being looked after well with all his complex medical needs attended to. Thank you to all of you at Eshcol House Nursing Home.
