My mother was admitted for end of life care in 2016 and lived for another three and a half years. Her mobility was very poor, and her dementia worsened, but she was looked after superbly by all the carers, even when she became very difficult in her last eighteen months. The staff at Fairholme felt like
an extended family. The manager is superb.

My mother was moved from hospital to Fairholme for end of life care. She received the best care and was treated with respect and dignity. We weren't allowed to visit at first because of COVID-19 when it became obvious she was deteriorating and was allowed to visit with PPE. My family and I were given
full support at all times.

Fairholme Nursing Home is superb. From the moment we entered this care home, we knew it was where we wanted my father to be. All the staff are very caring to all residents and spend time with them accordingly. Staff communicated with us regularly. We were very impressed with the entertainment on offer,
never forgetting my father, upstairs in his room if he wasn't well enough to go down to the dayroom. My father was treated with dignity and respect at all times.
We're so grateful to all staff who made my father's last days as comfortable as possible.

My mum was moved from a local hospital to Fairholme for end of life care. After suffering a series of strokes earlier this year, at age 85. The staff and managers went out of their way to provide comfort and love for Mum and the family who visited her. Nothing was too much trouble. Even though Mum was
only there for 5 days before she passed, we were encouraged to bring in pictures, ornaments, flowers, and even bedding to make Mum feel at home. I stay with Mum on the last night and held her hand as she slipped away - the staff were wonderful and ensured we had privacy and dignity. I cannot thank Fairholme enough and thoroughly recommend the home.

I cannot recommend Fairholme highly enough. Mum only stayed there for 3 months as her health deteriorated rapidly until she passed away but I can honestly say I wouldn't have wanted her to be anywhere else. All the staff were wonderful. They were caring, compassionate and respectful at all times. The
care level they give is amazing and it was a joy to go there, even though it was only for a short time. All the staff were aware of her illness and health issues and no-one could have been more helpful.

From the moment it became apparent that my mother had to go into care, I contacted the home and they confirmed they had a vacancy and would consider having my mother as a resident. A qualified member of staff visited us and spoke to my mother, asking her questions in a gentle and quiet manner and gaining
her confidence. She explained to my mother in great detail what to expect on becoming a resident in the home and confirming my mother was happy to go there. Within two days my mother was admitted to the house. The same member of staff greeted us on our arrival and showed us to the room my mother would occupy. My mother accepted this and after a few days - in spite of a few times my mother became a little agitated, with the help of the staff she settled in. Nothing was too much trouble - staff kind, patient and helpful. Very kind to family members and reassuring should there be any queries. A good, hard-working team.

Fairholme is amazing, such friendly staff and residents. The staff bend over backwards to help residents and their family. My one wish was to have my Grandad at my wedding to give me away, but he was too unwell to leave the home, so Fairholme organised for us to have a vow renewal so Grandad could walk
me down the aisle. They made my wedding day special.

At Fairfield Holme, all the staff decorated a room, arranged a vicar so that my Dad could walk her down the aisle to meet my daughter and husband to bless their wedding. All the residents loved my daughter all dressed in wedding attire. My Dad had a member of staff walk behind in case of a fall. All
the staff were absolutely amazing with all the work that went into the ceremony etc. It was the first nursing home to have a wedding in.

I have found Fairholme the most lovely, comfortable nursing home in every aspect of care and help towards my husbands family. My husband wants for nothing. Food is excellent and help given to him when he was unable to feed himself. The family was also looked after which helps in such distressing times.
The manager and staff were very caring people - not like some we hear about. I don't think I could have coped so well if it weren't for them.

My father passed away on Monday 18th March after spending a year at this lovely care home. All of the staff team treated him with dignity and respect throughout. Dad could be difficult at times, but the staff still loved him. Four years before this they looked after my mum as well. The care received
made me not hesitate Fairholme when dad needed care.

My Father in law was a resident of Fairholme Nursing Home until he passed away in February.
He lived there for over 2 years.
The care given to him was second to none.
All his needs were met, even as his health declined.
The staff were friendly to all family members and approachable when questions
were asked.
We all felt safe with the home to undertake any decisions concerning his care.
I would recommend the home to anyone.
Outstanding care provider.

From the moment that my father unfortunately arrived at the care home to his last breath, Fairholme staff (cleaners to nursing staff) made his/our time there a lot more pleasurable. I cannot fault any of them from going the extra mile to source his favourite food to visiting him in his room (bed bound
after 2 months) and just having a bit of a chat to him. All of the staff are on my list of favourite people, in fact we all felt like one big family when we were there. Care/nursing homes have had a bad press in the recent years, well I can put my hand on my heart and say "Not at Fairholme".

The atmosphere at Fairholme is warm and welcoming and positive. The home seems well managed and care staff were accessible, making it easy to discuss care needs and keen to uphold the dignity of the resident. At the end of life, staff were skilled and sensitive. The food was always appetising, staff
helping with eating and drinking and celebrating special occasions with the resident. Some of the room furniture was broken and run down and keeping track of residents belongings difficult. Overall though, a very positive experience.

My aunt was admitted to Fairholme Nursing Home in February of last year. Following a fall at home when a hip was broken. During her stay there she gradually deteriorated with memory loss and incontinence problems. The staff and management were absolutely first class in attending to her and we can only
say how pleased we were with the care she experienced.

Fairholme's greatest strength lies with its team. My father and I were treated with nothing less than kindness, patience and empathy. Sadly, my father has recently died. I felt as if the staff felt this loss as keenly as I.

My dad was only there for 10 days. He died peacefully at the age of 92 of prostate cancer.
For the end of life care, we had hoped for more attendance to his needs in terms of time.
All the nurses did their best though.
They were friendly and supportive when they were there in his room, but it always
took a long time for somebody to turn up when he had rung the bell.
The quality and presentation of the food was not very good.

I cannot fault the level of care that Mum received during her time at the home. Having been encouraged to visit at any time I witnessed the level of care that she received, consistently excellent. Her needs were very demanding but throughout Mum was treated with compassion, she was groomed well (that
she liked) and regularly monitored for level of pain and her comfort. Most importantly her dignity was maintained. During family visits, we were all included on feedback of Mum's condition.
As the end neared, her treatment and care was adapted to suit her best. We were all made to feel welcome and part of the team. Brilliant caring staff (from the heart) and brilliant management team.
