The care, support and attention at Trevaylor Manor is first class. The staff are courteous and always willing to advise and assist at any time even at the height of the pandemic there was no failure in the duty of care. I have every confidence in Trevaylor Manor's ability to offer a service of high
quality.

My wife has been in residence at Trevaylor Manor care home since January 2019 and is in the care of the wonderful staff on the dementia unit. Not one person can be named, in particular, to me as they are all wonderful. Including all the nursing staff, care assistants and every other member of staff.
To include the cleaners, catering and laundry staff. (I wish I could name all of them). Where my wife is concerned, who has regular one-to-one agency staff, they are all incredibly wonderful as well. I am so lucky that my wife is cared for with so much compassion. When I started looking for care for my wife, I looked at nine care homes and this was the only one where I felt my wife would be well cared for and the staff took the time to explain and to reassure me. It's incredibly hard to let go after 57 years together and 51 years of a fantastic marriage. Even my doctor recommended Trevaylor Manor, so I knew it would be good and see to her needs. Thank you to you all.

My mother spent the last three years of her life in the Coach House of Trevaylor, which provides expert care for patients with dementia. The professional care and compassion of the staff made all the difference to my mother who settled happily in the home. She liked the food, her bedroom, the garden
and frequently said how well the staff cared for her. This home made a huge positive difference to her life after two previous homes which could not and did not look after her. The previous homes stated they had specialist care for dementia - they didn't and my Mother became increasingly upset and distressed. After short periods of time in each home, they both told us they could not cope.
Visiting my Mother at Trevaylor, it became clear that the Coach House staff go much further than their required duties and take a special care and interest in their patients. To these staff, I thank them and I will never forget the difference they made.

Our mum's worst nightmare was to be put away in a home. Sadly when she got dementia this was a reality. After some awful other homes which simply couldn't cope with a fit and active elderly patient who liked being outdoors, we found Trevaylor. She was given a lovely ensuite room in the coach house which
had a safe enclosed garden which everyone could enjoy. The team of people were so kind, caring, and funny despite having to deal with some difficult issues and long shifts. Nothing was too much for them. We were allowed to visit whenever we liked and it was always the same peaceful environment. Our mum was never upset at going back in after days out which speaks words. The care and kindness allowed me to have several years of taking Mum out on outings to the sea and gardens which is a luxury most don't have. Even in her last days, her care was exemplary and people were so kind to me too at this difficult time.
Thank you so much to all the brilliant staff.

I visit my old neighbour every now and then and the atmosphere is very warm and happy. I feel that each staff has the same wavelength as I am just to make the resident reassured and happy. Thank you for the beautiful space.

In the two years, my wife has been in residence, I have never seen any resident mistreated in any way. No matter how fractious they may be on occasion.

I appreciate the opportunity to write this review. I always try and thank the staff for looking after my aunt, she is very happy which means a lot to the family. We were going out today but it was too cold. The staff offered me to lunch with my aunt, it was perfectly cooked and presented. Nothing is
too much trouble. The atmosphere is homely and welcoming. The staff are always helpful and friendly.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.986)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.986) out of 10 for Trevaylor Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.692 for Trevaylor Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (86 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.692

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.294 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Trevaylor Manor Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 81 registered maximum number of service users is 16.2. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.2 = 0.494

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
