Overall Experience

I had a very pleasant stay at Chollacott House Nursing Home & Drake Unit for two weeks, continuing my recovery from fracturing both of my upper arms in a fall at home. The staff were very caring, the food was very good and we had a picnic and a party which were well-organised by the excellent activities

Overall Experience

My wife was accepted to the home in her final stages of MND (motor neurone disease). Although she was only there for a short time, I was able to see her any time of day and no restrictions. I thought the level of care and nursing in every way was outstanding and more than just a group of just staff

but a family. Above and beyond the call of duty.

Overall Experience

My mother attended Chollacott House Nursing Home & Drake Unit for five weeks respite where her medical issues improved significantly enough for her to return home. Sadly, after six-seven weeks at home, her needs could not be met and she had to go back to the nursing home. All the staff remembered her

and all made the effort to say hello and welcomed her back. The staff have always been very interested in her well-being and interact with her regardless of her dementia. I would recommend this home.

Overall Experience

My mum loved all the carers and told them frequently. She was well cared for and nursed so well and with dignity a the end. As he daughter and career for many years, I felt I did the best for her by moving her to Chollacott House Nursing Home & Drake Unit. Thank you.

Overall Experience

I was initially hesitant to come to Chollacott, however, I lead a very busy life directing a website. Which, during COVID lockdown, was very demanding and had to use video call links nationally and internationally as past mayor and town borough councillor I did not know of the valuable opportunity available

to enjoy a complete respite so very well supported. I was referred following strokes and fractured ankle and pretty vulnerable, however, with the support of all the staff and especially the manager, activities manager and everybody including the cook's interaction, kindness and those who went out of their way to make me feel welcome.

Overall Experience

You never wish for your loved ones to have to go into a nursing home but my uncle seems happy here. He always speaks highly of all the staff and carers and, in particular, the lovely guy who does the entertainment. He is so attentive and focused. He makes my uncle's day.

Overall Experience

I lived in this place for respite for a couple of weeks. I really enjoyed it and the staff were brilliant.
Activities were excellent and I enjoyed the parties.

Everyone is loving and caring. One member of staff keeps my brother happy and interested in the activities within the home. The manager is always very supportive and keeps us informed.

Overall Experience

My dad is well cared for at Chollacott House Nursing Home & Drake Unit. The staff are caring and the food is very good.
One member of staff, in particular, has been very attentive to Dad's needs, including haircuts and shaving. And both the manager and another member of staff oversee the home very

well. The activities are good, although I'd like to see the common room used more.
We've also had some issues with losing laundry items which I hope will be resolved soon.

It's really lovely to read that your dad is well cared for. I hear what you say about the common room. I have had similar conversations with the care home manager. Whilst we have in the past (and I'm sure will again) had residents at Chollacott House who were more able-bodied and could and wanted to spend time in the communal rooms, our resident group, at the moment, are a little more frail and not able or not wishing to spend as much time out of their rooms. Every resident has a bespoke 'activity plan' created with them to ensure that they remain stimulated even if in their own rooms for longer periods of time. Chollacott House have made use of our mini-bus this year and it continues to be available for them as and when needed. Sorry to hear about the laundry problems - I'm pleased they are being resolved.

Overall Experience

My father-in-law is well cared for at Chollacott House Nursing Home & Drake Unit. The staff are attentive, the food is very good and the environment is clean and safe.
One member of staff is very attentive and helps my father-in-law with shaving and cutting his hair. He is very caring. He interacts

a lot with my father-in-law.
The management does a good job managing the nursing home.

The caregivers at Chollacott House Nursing Home & Drake Unit appear to be very thoughtful and attentive to the residents. The manager has always been extremely accommodating in coordinating visits, given our limited time and Covid. One member of staff is always a joy to see and is full of energy which

I think greatly benefits the environment in which the residents live. Another member of staff has been a great and important friendly face for my grandad. You can tell that he truly cares and goes the extra mile to engage, make connections with and really get to know the residents on a more personal level.

Overall Experience

The residents experience all local and national events without exception. The home recently marked the passing of the Queen extremely sympathetically and even treated residents to candy floss when the fair came to town. The residents are at the heart of their decisions and this is hugely appreciated

by family and carers related to residents.

Overall Experience

The manager and staff have taken us out and to home on a few occasions. They do so whenever we request it and always provide the time we want. Nothing is too much trouble, and they make us very comfortable. They are extremely friendly, courteous and kind.
Punctuality is "spot on".
