Before my aunt need to be in care, she was an incredibly house-proud lady and I do feel that her room could be left tidier after the personal care routines have been finished and that the pillows on her bed should be replaced more often, as being washed so often breaks down the stuffing and leaves them

lumpy.
In general, I think my aunt is safe has good personal care and is looked after well.
However, when I showed the review form to her in regard to the question "treated with dignity" she said she would score this as very unsatisfactory. She said a couple of the carers are "very push and pull" when dealing with her personal care.

Overall Experience

I am overall very satisfied with the care given to my nan. I can not complain about anything being under satisfactory if I ask for something on my nan's behalf it is promptly addressed and help provided. Have been allowed to decorate and personalise my nan's room to make it her own, she's given 3 good

meals a day and always has company around. All the staff are very friendly. No concerns.

Overall Experience

He seems to be very settled at Chollacott. The staff are always friendly and helpful with any problems I have. The management is extremely good and professional in their approach to running Chollacott.

Chollacott House Nursing Home is outstanding for care, being honest with everything that is going on with my Mum. They are such lovely and caring staff. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them. From Manager, right down to the cleaners. I praise them for how they have dealt with everything through

I have to say, I agree completely with all that you have said, in particular about our care team at Chollacott House. They really are an amazing group of people, all of them. Nursing homes are, of course, really busy places where the care teams have significant amounts for formal process and administration to complete as a fundamental aspect of providing a bespoke care package to each resident. At Chollacott they manage to do that whilst at the same time, creating a relaxed and homely atmosphere, in your words 'cosy and welcoming' and I feel exactly the same way whenever I visit or, indeed, call the home. Overall Experience

My mother-in-law has been at Chollacott House Nursing Home for over two years. She is happy there and enjoys chatting with the staff. She was able to bring some of her own furniture with her and she has plenty of storage space for clothes, etc and an en-suite toilet. Her room is kept very clean. She

enjoys the food, especially lunch and the afternoon tea and cake. Because of her memory loss and confusion, she has never mastered how to use the call button system so she relies on the staff to check on her frequently, which they do. I was impressed with how quickly a new visiting suite was built with a glass partition to enable safe visiting during Covid-19. Pre-lockdown she enjoyed minibus trips and loved the hairdresser coming every week, although she has said she would like more activities. There is always a nurse on duty so her medical needs are well met and they are very quick to get the doctor in if she has symptoms of illness and to keep me informed. I feel she is safe and well cared for.

The staff are incredible. The care shown towards my Grandad has been amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. I couldn't wish for my Grandad to be anywhere else. My whole family are in awe of the amazing people who work at Chollacott. Thank you for everything.

Overall Experience

My uncle appears content in Chollacott. When I have spoken to him, he always comments on how nice and helpful all the staff are. He says he enjoys the meals and always has plenty of snacks to have. he tells me that he likes joining in with activities. When I call the home the staff are all friendly

and keep me updated with hos my Uncle is.

Overall Experience

Mum spent the last two years and four months at Chollacott. They are very precious memories for me and my family. Any time I had issues or concerns they were addressed. The last week of mum's life we were with mum day and night. The staff were amazing and allowed mum to pass away with dignity. Nothing

was too much trouble. For that, I will always be grateful.

Overall Experience

My husband has received top service and attention at this home since he was admitted in September 2018. The staff are friendly and helpful in all they do to make life easier for him. His main aim is to return home and will be sorry to leave Chollacott, but at the moment is content to use this home as

rehabilitation and one step to complete recovery.

My mum is very happy here, she has been made to feel very welcome.
The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble, I have not seen my mum look as well as she does now and I think this is down to a nice comfortable environment, a good diet, good activities and most of all, good care.
The only

fault I can find is the laundry system - clothes, underwear going missing even though clearly marked with her name and this upsets my mum, but staff are very apologetic and ensure some are found.

My husband spent his final weeks at Challacott House Nursing home, having attended the day centre. I truly appreciate the treatment my husband received. Overall Experience

From day one, we were treated in a really homely way, all the staff were friendly and very helpful. The management team, including the nursing team, were always helpful and willing to discuss situations with you.
The only problem I found were times that my wife would press her bell for attention, there

were times of delay. These happened when they had staff shortages and at busy times of the day. Overall, the home was very good.

It's always great to see the Managers, Nursing and Care Teams receive such public praise as this. We note your comment about call bell response times and apologise for any delays encountered. For the benefit of readers of this review, there should never be times of staff shortages as the rota is planned 4 weeks in advance and we have agency back up in place to cater for any short-notice absences (illnesses etc). The call bell system records are regularly monitored by the care home manager to ensure that we identify any busy times and resource accordingly. There may, of course, be times when multiple call bells may sound at once, and this may cause some delay in response - but this should not be to a significant degree. The call bells have an Emergency Button and an Assistance Button and are prioritised accordingly. Kindest regards, Nathan.

Overall Experience

It became necessary 30 months ago for a close personal friend to enter Chollacott House Nursing Home for full-time care, a place where they have received good care, helping with the many changing challenges in life they now have.
Staff always appear happy and bright when spoken to either by myself

or a friend.
Meals are very much enjoyed, especially cake with afternoon tea.
Their room has always been clean and tidy.
