Richard and Stephen Hart have owned Hart Care since November 2010. At the end of 2020 and going into 2021, a significant amount of investment and improvement took place. This was to ensure the long-term safety of residents, and to help enhance care standards.

They admit elderly residents who need assistance and support to sustain a good quality of life. Their main focus is always the resident’s safety whilst ensuring choice and dignity are maintained.

They monitor care delivery, to check that it improves on an on-going basis. They recruit staff who buy into Hart Care's culture and who genuinely care for their residents.

The activities program is varied and allows residents to participate in a range of fun exercises, thereby helping to keep them interested and engaged. For residents who like being outside, they have a large, enclosed garden and are located within Dartmoor National Park.

My dad has been at Hart Care Residential Care Home for approx 5 months and can not speak any higher about the staff, management and the care he receives.
I always get a warm welcome when I visit and he really enjoys the activities and meals.
I can thoroughly recommend Hart Care as I have seen the
difference in my dad since coming from another care home.

I would like to thank the staff at Hart Care Residential Care Home for creating a wonderful, fun, and caring environment on Christmas day. I spent several hours with my father at the care home and I felt totally included in the festivities, I saw first hand, the attention to detail and the genuine warmth
and care provided on this special day, which is an emotional time of year for families. My Dad had a wonderful day and this was largely down to the team at Hart Care. Many thanks.

The whole experience up to this point has been absolutely superb. From the manager's initial home visit to every kind word spoken to my mum to the cleanliness of the areas and the respectful consideration of the staff and management. I have the utmost admiration for everyone involved in the day-to-day
running of the care home and I know that this is the happiest I have seen my mum, who has been suffering from dementia, in several years. Thank you.

Due to personal reasons, we put mum in Hart Care Home. This was the best thing we have done. She is treated so well that the staff can't do enough for mum or for us. The home doesn't feel clinical but a home with comfort. The team are just amazing.

The care staff - of whatever grade - are caring and informal and friendly but also professional when necessary. The home went to a lot of trouble over Christmas with decorations, activities and presents for residents.

I was admitted to Hart Care following an operation on my knee/leg as I needed further care. The staff were all friendly and careful and made me feel at home. The help and encouragement I had to help me walk again was really good. The food was excellent. I was sorry it was time to go home.

My mum was a resident at Hart Care for eight weeks approx. In all that time my mum received a high standard of care from all the staff who treated her with kindness and dignity. My mum being a farmer's wife liked plenty of fresh air so being able to go into the garden was really important to her and
when a room became available they kindly moved her so she could access the garden. All the staff were very welcoming.

Hart Care Residential Care Home is set in beautiful grounds. The staff are wonderful, kind, cheerful and helpful. I have a small dog and everyone has made her stay a wonderful holiday. In fact, she probably would like to stay here full-time.
The food is very good and tailored to my diet.
Altogether
a very enjoyable stay, nothing was too much trouble and it felt more like a hotel stay with friends. This must come from the management.

Friendly and caring and all efforts to make my husband feel welcome. Introduced to the friendly staff, cup of tea provided and questions invited from the staff. His clothes, toiletries were out in drawers for him. The manager came to see all ways well and have a welcoming talk with him and us (my daughters
and self). He was told my daughter could bring the beloved family dog to see him which really pleased him. We visited for a few days and were delighted that he seemed happy and settled and indeed has remained so so far.

My dad came into Hart Care Residential Home as a temporary respite following a fall and broken hip and elbow.
The staff are amazing, caring and kind. The home itself is spotlessly clean and fresh! The food is first class and my Dad enjoys every meal. There is often music or coffee mornings and a new
activities coordinator has just joined to this will mean more events.
I highly recommend Hart Care and my dad is content, well looked after and happily settled.

My father in law has been here since August, and is now a permanent resident.
He is very comfortable and settled here. He is cared for and very well looked after. This is a significant comfort to us. The home is clean, comfortable and constantly being improved.
All of the staff are amazing! Polite
and friendly, an exceptional location.

Staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. The home is spotless and has lovely atmosphere. The location is idyllic, right in the middle of Dartmoor. My grandad is very comfortable and well cared for.

Firstly the staff from the top of the ladder right down to the carers, cooks, laundry etc. Nothing was too much trouble for the care they gave my father for the few weeks he was in their care, kind, friendly staff.
The only thing I would say is some rooms are a little tired, need a freshen up with
a lick of paint etc.

My father is really happy at Hart Care and have seen a bit of improvement since he has moved from another care home around 4 months ago.
He receives great care from the care workers and I can see how hard they work when I come to visit the care home.
He has a lovely room overlooking the National Park
which gives him a real lift most days.

When I first visited Hart Care Residential Care Home I noticed how friendly and happy everybody was. There is a warm, homely atmosphere, which set me at ease from the outset.
Having visited my parents regularly over the last month since they arrived, I have continued to see a high level of care and
respect for the residents.
The public areas and my parent's room are comfortable. warm and clean. The meals look lovely and my parents are now putting on much-needed weight.

Mum has been at Hart Care Residential Care Home for over 4 years now and her experience there has always led her to feeling safe and well cared for. She has praised the carers and other staff on many occasions. In the last year many more positive changes have occurred, including a lot of refurbishment,
which have all involved a lot of hard work by staff and management. The home is now looking much updated and even more bright and welcoming, without losing the homely feel I have always found it to have. Staff are kind, helpful and friendly and I feel Mum is in very good hands there.

Kelly

Kelly Inglis

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2023

Kelly has worked at Hart Care since April 2023 when she came on board as the deputy manager and has recently taken over as the home manager.


Having previously worked at Bupa nursing homes for 4 years, Kelly started as a healthcare assistant and worked her way up to unit manager where she achieved a distinction for her Level 5 in Leadership and Management.


Kelly is a firm believer in person-centred care and firmly believes that care is not one size fits all. She is incredibly proud that her team are so adaptable and really does have their residents at the heart of what they do.


She has 4 children and 2 dogs and the younger two children love to come to the home and join in when there are events on. Dexter, the youngest of the 2 dogs, does occasionally make an appearance when Kelly is able to bring him in, much to the delight of all residents and staff alike!

Karen Honey

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2024

Karen has an unbelievable amount of experience and has worked in nursing homes for 15 years. This means she brings some fabulous skills to Hart Care, some of which have already been instrumental in improving our care standards.


Tracy

Tracy Williams

Job Title: Administrator

Joined: 2011

Tracy has worked at Hart Care since 2011 and has been the home administrator most of that time. Tracy enjoys meeting residents, family members and visitors each day and is often accompanied by Bandit, her Springer Spaniel. Bandit is a very friendly fellow whose two favourite things are a tummy tickle or going for a walk across the road on the Moor. Bandit also likes our residents a lot and visits them as part of our activities timetable. Bandit's place when not doing these visits is next to Tracy's desk.
