Thank you for your review. We are so pleased to hear that your mother enjoys all of our activities, the residents at Tyspane are invited to share their interests and hobbies so as they can be included in group or one-to-one sessions. The community are invited in regularly with visits from a preschool and nursery, local school children and other community groups to enable the residents to stay connected. Bedroom and ensuite upgrades are included in an ongoing programme of refurbishment with our big wow upgrade to take place this autumn. A new summer/seasonal menu has just been introduced with a variety of choices both hot and cold which we hope will be enjoyed by the residents this summer. Food forum meetings take place regularly where the resident's likes and dislikes can be taken on board by the catering team.

Babs main interests are keeping fit and she spends a lot of her spare time as a fitness instructor, holding various classes around the local community.

In 2016, she was awarded the 'Devon Best Practice Award' for her flexicise class. She owns our 'pamper dogs' – her three Maltese – who deliver papers with her in the morning.
She is band 4 in physio and really tries to make residents' day fun; she very much believes in the 'if you don’t use it, you lose it' mentality, so she always encourages residents to participate, regardless of mobility concerns, because everyone is able to do something!
