Avon Reach is situated in the heart of Mudeford in Dorset. It is within walking distance of the famous Mudeford Quay with its seafaring history.

Residents enjoy companionship and can join in with singing, music, exercise and arts and crafts sessions. There is the opportunity for gentle gardening activities in the summer sunshine, and there is a busy pen pal scheme.
The home is registered for nursing care and staffed by dedicated nurses and health care professionals with extensive experience in caring for age-related conditions and fully trained in infection control.

It is within easy reach of the New Forest, while local shops and amenities are also easily accessible.

From the spacious reception and seating area, residents can greet friends or simply watch the world go by. This leads to the dining room with French windows opening onto the patio and garden area beyond.

The main lounge on the ground floor is equipped with a large-screen television. There is a kitchenette where residents or visitors can make their own drinks. An additional lounge and quiet room are provided on the first floor. The second-floor lounge enjoys views of the sea.

Avon Reach has its own library and a selection of specialist bathrooms including hydrotherapy bath.

The care and compassion my Mother received while a resident at Avon Reach was five-star.
Even the cleaners, tea lady, restaurant staff, reception, laundry lady, activities staff, and nursing/care staff all contributed to making my Mum feel at home. They were interested in her stories, and likewise,
Mum was interested in theirs.
The only criticism I have is that the allocated doctor surgery didn't always deliver the best service. I would have appreciated being informed before they changed Mum's doctor.

Very professional, plenty of activities if wanted. I knew my Mum was in safe hands, which was reassuring.

From the day my mother arrived at Avon Reach to the day she peacefully passed away, she considered Avon Reach to be her happy home. She was stimulated by the community and company, the activities and events. Her health and well-being improved due to the excellent care. Her end-of-life was managed in
the most professional and compassionate manner. We cannot thank the manager and her team enough for my mother's wonderful final three years.

Since Mum has been in this care home she has been a lot happier, she enjoys the company of other residents and carers and is in a safe environment. She now has her medication regularly and feels well. The home itself is a nice and happy environment to be in and the staff are all so kind and sensitive
to her needs. As a family, we have been impressed with the home and would be happy to recommend it to anyone else.

The care home is one of the most beautiful facilities I've seen. The attention to detail and the cleanliness gave the atmosphere of a home rather than a clinic. Listening to the staff speak of my grandad and interact with my aunt it was evident that my grandad was treated as a friend and member of family,
so much more than just a client.

My mother and I were supported by staff nurses who were so kind, empathetic and gentle when discussing advanced care planning. Their professionalism and honesty was significant for me as I was overwhelmed when discussing Mum's future wishes despite understanding that this is a crucial decision to have.
Mum now has control and I have reassurance that her wishes will be respected.

Avon Reach Care Home is amazing! Mum moved in for respite care in April 2024 and is happy to stay permanently as a result of the wonderful, supportive and positive atmosphere that runs all through all aspects of the home. Mum is the happiest I have seen her for a good six months. Our family has been
so kindly supported through a traumatic time, and we are so happy that Mum is content and settling in.

Both of my parents were together there for almost a year. I found Avon Reach excellent. The manager was approachable. Staff work as a team, they are all caring, treated Mum and Dad with dignity and respect and the nurses, in particular, were very efficient and kind and communicated very well and were
knowledgeable. It was a shame the clinical leads changed a lot. The food, catering staff and laundry were so kind and the receptionists were excellent. Avon Reach felt like family and I miss them. Just one concern, there were a lot of new health care assistant staff all at once during the year and that was unsettling for Mum and Dad.
