Avon Reach is situated in the heart of Mudeford in Dorset. It is within walking distance of the famous Mudeford Quay with its seafaring history.

Residents enjoy companionship and can join in with singing, music, exercise and arts and crafts sessions. There is the opportunity for gentle gardening activities in the summer sunshine, and there is a busy pen pal scheme.
The home is registered for nursing care and staffed by dedicated nurses and health care professionals with extensive experience in caring for age-related conditions and fully trained in infection control.

It is within easy reach of the New Forest, while local shops and amenities are also easily accessible.

From the spacious reception and seating area, residents can greet friends or simply watch the world go by. This leads to the dining room with French windows opening onto the patio and garden area beyond.

The main lounge on the ground floor is equipped with a large-screen television. There is a kitchenette where residents or visitors can make their own drinks. An additional lounge and quiet room are provided on the first floor. The second-floor lounge enjoys views of the sea.

Avon Reach has its own library and a selection of specialist bathrooms including hydrotherapy bath.

Friendly, responsive, professional, clean, efficiently run, good food responsive staff. Pit physiotherapist/occupational therapist could not have visited.

All the staff were lovely - very caring, nothing is too much trouble. There were two problems, but the home could have done nothing more as this was beyond them. The first was the TV, if a channel button was pressed twice it went through from terrestrial to a sky channel.
Mum was too blind and too
confused for this and so concluded the TV didn't work. The second was night time incontinence. It sometimes took the carers too long to get to her in time to prevent an accident. However, they did their best to manage this.

The management were very helpful in finding a respite place for my mother at fairly short notice. All the staff were welcoming when she first arrived and were always very friendly and helpful when I visited. If my mum had any problems with health issues the nurses always called me to let me know. Avon
Reach was always homely and welcoming and I would not hesitate to recommend it to any other families.

We visited without giving notice and felt very welcomed. The staff were getting my brother washed and dressed and we took him to the lounge where the friendly dog club were having a session with the other residents. Coffee was available as we chatted to my brother and a drink was brought to him. We
were offered lunch, though we declined, and planned to come back in the afternoon and had the same good experience and similarly in the evening!

My father-in-law had been here for three and a half years since the early days for which he was very troubled and confused. He has settled and in his words "is very contented". He had caring and good support in the early days which was very difficult for him and for us. We are notified if any change
in him, therefore as his family we're happy with his care. We had a family wedding last month, for which they supported wonderfully, allowing him to be present and us to be assured that he was well looked after. Thank you

I have confidence in staff and management and find the home extremely efficient, whilst still remaining very friendly with a relaxed atmosphere. Staff respond quickly and cheerfully to requests and there is not a constant ringing of bells so often to be heard in nursing homes. The menu is varied and
not at all "institutionalised". Early days but I have visited a lot of nursing homes in a personal and professional capacity and so far it is one of the best.
