Thank you for your recent review regarding the care of your mother at Castle View. We are sorry to learn that you felt this occasion was different from her previous positive stays. Your mother came to Castle View with significant nursing needs that were previously managed and supported by the district nurses. The team at Castle View continued this support by providing quality care to your mother. During her two week stay she did not wish to elevate her legs which may have contributed to a decline in the presentation of her wounds. However, your mother did engage well with the dressing and nursing care provided. We operate an open and transparent culture and would have welcomed the opportunity to investigate the concerns further; however, you have declined. The nursing and care team at Castle View are highly regarded by the local GPs and frailty team, who work closely with all partner agencies, including our regulators (CQC) who hold the home in high regard. We are confident in the home’s nursing team and other areas of your review such as cleanliness and safety based on the positive feedback we regularly receive from those involved in the service and through our own quality assurance processes.
