Yesterday was my birthday (3rd August) and I was surprised and delighted when at tea time a wonderful birthday cake was presented to me. My son and daughter were with me and enjoyed the happiness of the occasion. My thanks go to every member of staff who took participation in the success of the birthday
party. I am very happy and content in Whitecliffe House.

On entry all seems well managed, staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms appear well serviced, those in care that I have met, would seem to be content with their surroundings and care received.

Everyone at the home has been very kind and welcoming since we first came to visit prior to 'Mum' coming to live here. Mum has been here for one week so far and has been looked after very well, with a named carer looking after her. Staff have been available to talk to during most visits. The nurses
have been particularly kind and understanding towards me. Staff are doing their best to get to know Mum, even though she has no speech and little movement. The chef has been very accommodating also of Mum's likes/dislikes. There was just one time when Mum had not been washed until 10.00 I was concerned.

Overall the home is clean, tidy with friendly and approachable staff. Access to the qualified nurse on duty can at times be difficult as there is usually only one on at a time, with the remainder carers. The food is good and liked by the residents. I do feel that patient dignity could be improved,
many times other residents clothing have been found on my grandmother. This is important to get right and to feel an individual. Label system needs to be improved.

The above review has been raised with the family as no previous concerns have been brought to the managers attention, all issues have now been resolved. The labelling of residents clothing has been reviewed and we now have a strict labelling policy within the home and resident dignity is of the highest importance to our team.
