The staff at Meyrick Rise care for my father very well, he has been there over a year now so has settled down and they have become used to him and him to them. It is a lovely kind home and I have to say the 'pink ladies' are wonderful with all they do for the residents, to make the days fun! Of course,
the nursing staff and all the others in the restaurant and everywhere else are kind and friendly too.

The staff are very friendly, caring and the home is spotlessly clean and tidy. No complaints at all, my father is very happy there which makes me happy as I know he is being cared for. The home receptionist is excellent, always going the extra mile keeping me informed about special visiting arrangements
through covid. The activity girls are awesome too, it looks like they are always having great fun!

My 94-year-old father, who suffers with Parkinson's Disease, has been living at Meryick Rise for a year now. Although it took him a long time to settle and accept that this was now his new home, he has reached a place of feeling safe and happy. The Care Staff I have had contact with have been extremely
helpful and shown great compassion, especially when my father was really not happy. A year later, and all I hear from them is how much they enjoy and appreciate him. The premises are very well maintained, the care is exemplary, the food is varied and wholesome, and the day to day activities and special treats really make my Daddy feel accepted, valued and wanted. I am so grateful to them all, especially as I cannot visit him, I know that others are standing in my stead to give him the attention and friendship he needs. I would highly recommend the home to anyone.

Mum moved to Meyrick Rise late September following several weeks in hospital after having a severe stroke. She was made to feel welcome from the moment she arrived, particularly as she had to isolate for 14-days in her room. The staff made extra effort to entertain her and to keep the family informed
of her wellbeing. Mum has settled well and is now enjoying all the activities provided. The staff are always helpful, offer that personal touch and give you an update when you phone and the reception is particularly well managed with all questions always answered. The entertainment is excellent, with great Facebook pictures to keep you involved and outings in the minibus.
The nursing and care staff are compassionate, keep us informed and provide that much-needed reassurance. All the staff are doing an excellent job in very trying times, I feel confident that Mum is well cared for and is enjoying her time. I would definitely recommend Meyrick Rise.

Meyrick Rise has been home for my lovely nan for the past few years since she became too poorly to return home. The accommodation itself is always spotless and the staff are fantastic with residents and visitors alike. It’s comforting to know that my nan has the best care for her needs and is well looked
after. The activities and variety for residents is great, and even those who can’t participate are not forgotten. I love to see the updates posted on social media too, this was particularly comforting during lockdown and a great way of being able to keep in touch with what was being run. I would highly recommend this home.

We are so happy with the care my mother receives at Meyrick Rise Care Home. When Mum first moved in a couple of years ago, it took her quite a while to accept her new situation and settle in. The staff were very compassionate and experienced in getting Mum to join in with the social activities and join
the other residents in the lounge etc.
She now enjoys all the activities and is much happier than she has been for ages which is a glowing testament to all the care staff at Meyrick.
From the friendly welcome from the receptionist as we arrive to visit, who also keeps us informed of events, to the amazing efforts of the activity coordinators, in all the activities they organise and take a real interest in ensuring all residents that wish to be are included, and all the dedicated care team.
They have all made huge efforts to make sure we are kept informed of what mum is doing, whilst we cannot visit due to COVID. The Facebook page is welcomed as a great way to be kept informed.

The team at Meyrick Rise do a fantastic job in caring for all the residents. On my regular visits to see my friend I have always received a courteous welcome from staff, including maintenance and helpful and encouraging response from all carers with whom I have consulted over my friend's welfare. The most important acknowledgement is that my friend, himself a most intelligent

Meyrick Rise has given Dad the best care possible. The home receptionist has been exceptional from taking our initial enquiry, showing us around the home to making arrangements for Dad to be admitted. It was so refreshing to hear a care provider putting Dad's needs first. In Dad's first week at the
home, his hospital transport for appointments was sorted, he had his haircut and chiropody and had his eyes tested by the optician. The services were arranged efficiently and quickly by the reception. I've never seen Dad look so well. The home is very clean and the activities are great. Dad has settled in so well and we are delighted to have chosen this home for him.

My Sister and I chose Meyrick Rise for Mum in late December 2018. It was Mum's first experience of being a resident of a care home and like all of us she was extremely apprehensive. However, her fears just disappeared, as soon as she arrived, the facilities, the welcome, the compassion and most of
all the warmth of the team made her feel totally at ease and in the very best place possible.
Throughout the summer Mum really enjoyed taking part in numerous events arranged by the staff at Meyrick Rise - no one ever need worry about loneliness when there are so many caring people around all the time. During times Mum wanted to just watch TV or read she could simply sit quietly in her room and enjoy the view from her window.
Sadly Mum passed away peacefully in her room in Meyrick Rise in early August, attended by the most caring team anyone could ever hope to meet - it was in the middle of the day, the room was bathed in sunlight and it was a most peaceful death. Thank you Meyrick Rise Team.

My best friend moved into Meyrick Rise two months ago after falling at home and then having a short stay in hospital. Meyrick Rise is nothing short than amazing. The excellent care given has enabled my friend to be on the mend quickly, getting her confidence back and looking wonderful. Full credit to
all the team, especially the admin and receptionist who always go out their way to help.

Mum has now been a resident at Meyrick Rise for several months and cannot stop telling anyone who cares to listen (and anyone that doesn't) just how wonderful life is at Meyrick Rise!


I considered other homes for Mum in Bournemouth and I'm so pleased and relieved I chose Meyrick Rise - the difference

At the time of changeover, there are day and night teams within the home so that the handover can be given, this is to ensure that correct information for the day is passed over to the team for the day that lies ahead. It is essential that all new team members are present during this time to ensure a good quality and continuity of care. Within this period call bells are answered by both night and day teams and breakfast is in the process of starting. Our night teams have given early morning drinks to those residents who would like to receive one. Before leaving any resident’s room, our teams are trained to ask if they are comfortable and happy; I will reinforce this message at our next team meeting. Our team ratio during changeover times is 1:2. We have increased the activities level of the team from 2 to 3 after this review came in so we hope you will see a varied and interesting programme in the upcoming year. If you’d like to discuss anything further, please feel free to pop in and see me at your earliest convenience.
