Westbourne Tower, a premium provider of dementia care, nursing care and residential care, is ideally situated within easy access to the centre of Bournemouth.

Rooms dedicated to respite stays following a hospital visit or when your carer is on holiday. The care home has 114 beds and on-site nursing facilities.

The care home is located a short distance from the centre of Bournemouth, offering a wide range of accommodation options and beautiful, wheelchair-friendly landscaped gardens designed for a gentle stroll or relaxing walk. Pet-friendly, so your four-legged friends can also move in.

A passionate and dedicated team ensure all residents’ individual needs and requirements are met; whether that is arranging for your favourite meal to be created by the in-house chef or arranging activities for you to enjoy.

Westbourne Tower encourages residents to stay active, make new friends, nurture interests, learn new skills and pursue favourite hobbies. The Activities Co-ordinator arranges exciting events, trips and onsite activities so there is always something to do.

The care home is close to the beaches of Bournemouth and Poole and air, road and rail links (the mainline train station is just five minutes away) are excellent for visiting family and friends. Extremely happy and confident with the quality of service being provided to my mother. Due to her illness, her behaviour can be both erratic and challenging. However, staff have a good understanding and deal with those challenges in a controlled and professional manner, ensuring her needs are met and
her dignity maintained. Staff are both friendly and professional and keep me well informed regarding her care and any complications that may arise.


Overall, very happy with the quality of service provided to my mother and would recommend the home to others in a similar situation.

My Dad has settled in well and staff are very helpful when I ring or visit. The family Xmas party was lovely and my daughter and I enjoyed being there with everyone. Please do it again next year.
I was worried about Dad over Xmas as he seemed really not with it when I visited but the staff found out
he was dehydrated and he seemed much better on our last visit.
He really enjoys the food and maybe a bit too much as I needed to buy bigger clothes!! Any problems the staff have rung me and it gives me peace of mind knowing they are looking after him.

Sunrise of Westbourne provide very nice rooms, friendly staff and a good standard of service, but naturally, residents do not always wish to be in a care home. However, this one I believe is one of the best.

I have lived here for five years and can strongly say that this is the best thing that could of happened to me. The staff are very helpful and it is important to me knowing that if I had a fall or any other incident, I would get help right away.

My mother seems very settled in the home although her memory is getting poorer. Sometimes there seems a lack of Carers especially after lunch when we come to visit and she needs the toilet and we feel that we shouldn't have to do the job of the carer. Also quite often there is no activity on in the
evening and feel that it wouldn't take much to pop a DVD on the TV in the activities room or put "Egg Heads" on after supper so that residents can have the option to sit there rather than shut away in their rooms. My mother gets very despondent in the evening when she is tired and needs distractions. The activities during the day are excellent and the staff do a very good job.

Living some 180 miles from my uncle, by having him in residence at Sunrise, we know that he is well cared for, and as a result, we are not worrying about how he is coping. Also if anything went wrong with him, eg sudden deterioration in health, then we would be informed at once. The quality of care
that we have witnessed is excellent, with plenty of activities too that are in house. Being active he is also able to go out and enjoy the local environment, but we always have the reassurance that he is returning to Sunrise where he is well cared for and his personal needs are attended to. The size of his room also lets him bring with him some favourite items of furniture, like his desk etc, which lets him carry on with a lot of things he used to do, when in his own home.

My first visit to the home, everything was very nice. we had lunch with my mother, it was really nice and we were made very welcome.

We find the permanent staff friendly and good, some temp staff are not so good. Dad seems very happy and enjoys his meals. The main staff are always helpful if I have questions but as I report back to the brothers it would be helpful to have regular meetings with staff for an update on his health and
behaviour.

Dad was at Sunrise for a period of 15 months before he passed away on the 9th of September 2016. He received outstanding care right from day one and the staff were so friendly and caring. He settled in quickly and I am pleased to say that he was happy there, which was something I did not expect, as
he had been a very independent and proud man who I thought would not take kindly to the regime of care home.
The atmosphere was cheerful, professional and there were never any of the unpleasant smells that are sometimes evident in such establishments. The food on the whole, was good and varied. The end of life care I can only describe as exceptional.

Thank you for the wonderful care and attention to detail given to my mother during the first 2 months of her stay at Sunrise of Westbourne. The level of care is of great comfort to mum and me. Timely help is always at hand and the staff are friendly and attentive. Mum particularly enjoys the 'spa' baths
which are a real treat. Prior to coming to Westbourne mum was basically housebound - now she is able to enjoy the company of others and socialise more.
Thank you on behalf of my mother, myself and my brother.

I have been here since it opened in 2006. I can’t believe how time has flown by. Although I already had the skill set I was working as a Bank Chef alongside my own business and was asked to take on the managerial role which was an easy transition. I trained and worked in London, Morocco, France and Italy before returning to the UK and settling in Bournemouth. My food specialities are multicultural and the residents love it when I do theme days. I have been a major part of this home being awarded CQC Outstanding, the CQC assessor loved my secret ingredient “ a bit of love”. I run a monthly Dining Committee where residents can influence what is on the menu, likes and dislikes and I love nothing more than walking around the dining room on a daily basis to ensure their wishes have been followed. I like to surprise residents with their favourite dishes, for special occasions. I have to say I love my job and my residents make me smile every day. I am proud to say I work here.

I am delighted to have been recently appointed for this important role, in delivering a varied, stimulating and educational programme for our residents. I like to think outside the box and ongoing feedback from our residents, it enables my talented activity team to deliver, along with our team of amazing volunteers. I bring to the role my experience of managing teams, Interior Design, Floristry, Art, and Teaching and I even played table tennis for Wales! I am inspired by talking to our residents and finding out what they enjoy and what makes them smile, whether that's an entertainer, Tai Chi, Music Therapy, Camera or Theatre Club or 1 to 1 person-centred activities. 110% is put into everything we do here.

I have worked here since 2006, and the things that have remained constant throughout that time are the love, dedication and unfaltering kindness my colleagues deliver every day. I have worked in the care sector since 2012, predominantly in dedicated dementia homes. I have been in co-ordinating positions since 2016. I am currently studying to become a Nursing Associate and my ultimate goal is to become a Registered Nurse. I am passionate about person-centred care and ensuring that our residents live their lives as well as they wish, always upholding their wishes and preferences.

In my personal life, I am married and live in Southbourne. I love the beach, especially in the autumn. In my spare time, I love to read criminal and mystery books and take walks down the beach. I am also an unashamed Harry Potter fan.
